    As a Swede, I want to thank all our new amazing allies for coming to Sweden for these exercises! American soldiers are really friendly and as eager to learn as they are to teach and share their experience with our soldiers. Lets prepare for the worst to come, but hope for peace!

      Swedes and most Americans actually share much of a no-bullshit fiercely pragmatic attitude. And an ideal that a man should be able to learn and do anything, as quick as possible. it stems from an heritage of being quite alone in a vast and sparsely populated country, an outback where there were few specialists around. You had to be self-reliant, a bit towards an indigenous hunter-gatherer population compared to sophisticated Europe. Actions speak louder than words here. The difference is that the swedes are better educated and well read, in average, reading has long been a pastime here, and have an instinct to be good group members - but of course American soldiers are that too, maybe even more - the US military is the only thing in the USA that is allowed to operate on a non-individual, and thus socialist, ground. ;D

      hope you are aware that they bring equipment made from depleted uranium also . thats why they had to redo the law that prevent swedish militarys from fighting alongside american soldiers before we joined nato that we didnt even get to vote for =( .america use depleted uranium in ammo and most of the equipment and they ship it to soldiers in other countrys instead of berrying it like all other countrys with power plants do.

      @@filipandersson67 "Gå på" is an old saying from the Great Power-era of Swedish history, around the 16- to 1700's.
      It basically translates to "keep moving" - "move faster" or "keep pace". The literal translation is "walk on."
      The term is still used to this day, both in civilian and military life. For instance, if you're out walking with some people, and need to keep up a certain pace, or increase it. You'd tell your compatriots to "gå på".

    I saw some comments on these being an opposing force. That would explain why there are no helmets. But why train without simulators?
    And the guy that hammers his hand on the bolt catch just destroys the rifle. We have known that for decades and still, it is used when reloading. It looks cool but its not the proper way to do it. Just pull it backwards a centimeter and it is released.
    The armoured part looked good though. Very quick reloading on the main gun for the Leopard.

      The 40 mm Bofors cannon on the CV90 is mounted upside down, so the empty shells fly up and away from the vehicle. I think the reason why it's mounted upside down is because of how the loading mechanism works.

    • @SierraEchoTeam
      @SierraEchoTeam Місяць тому +1

      @@samolofsson2401 Exactly, if you take a look on other Western modern APC's or IFV's they mostly have the shells eject downwards which leads the turret to be full off shells which can hinder and create turret malfunctions. So Swedish BOA designed it upside down to make the shells fly AWAY from the vehicle and not harm vehicle nor troops.

    • @SonsOfLorgar
      @SonsOfLorgar Місяць тому +1

      @@SierraEchoTeam not really, the main reason is that the Bofors 40mm/L70 AA gun is an accelerated recoil operation mechanism with one of the most violent case ejections in the history of autocannons, thus, the casings has to be sent out of the turret or they would be breaking equipment and bones inside the fighting compartment...
      That is the main reason they turned it upside down when they put it in a vehicle turret.
      The lack of brass cluttering the turret basket floor is a bonus.

      drones does not remove the fact that you should know how to fight against other targets too.
      drones itself are not really anything new as air threat has always been there, reason why drones are so much used on Ukraine is that either side can not use their planes freely.
      Drones are just one small part of bigger picture.

    • @nubbetudde8922
      @nubbetudde8922 Місяць тому +6

      If you want's to move a vehicle on Gotland you will have to move in the open. Most of the green fluffy stuff you see on the map is less than 5 feet in height. Yes there are rather large parts with ordinary forests but you need to move between them.

    • @amadeuz8161
      @amadeuz8161 Місяць тому +12

      Then its a training ground, they are usually a lot more open because of the heavy usage. Plus that the drones would have to cross a sea that and the units that would land there won't have 1000's of drones with em so they would have recon ones probably plus that EVERY PLACE ON EARTH AINT FLAT AND OPEN LIKE UKRAINE!
      Like go fly a drone out on an island in the archipelago during 14m/s winds... Even worse winds out at sea so they need a calm day to cross but then again the boats they are coming with would be easyily spotted.
      So if you want realism then also move your brain to the area you are trying to make realistic. Bigger chance they would use the normal stuff than a darn drone, like shove those drones up your... The world is not like Ukraine...
      Yes drones have their uses but why even teach a team to drive and fire at a target "BECAUSE THERE ARE DRONES".
      Sorry but getting fed up on everyone being an armchairgeneral... My first training that I remember was crawling through forest ant paths reaching cover and if you were unlucky you got a anthill in the way, oddly the trainers never crawled even if the enemy was shooting at us so was probably not realistic enough for you. The lesson I took from it was that crawling aint fun but it can be worse and we got a candy bar because everyone made it. My point is that you start to crawl, then you stand up, then you walk and finally you start running so your drones had nothing to do with this training. Like they do probably still train hiding from imaginary planes and drones but you can't always only do that. Should the trainer next time at the shooting range randombly throw stuff on them shouting "drone" instead of teaching em to shoot?!?

      And the current version, the Ak5C, was first issued with transparent polymer mags, but they are not as numerous as the older steel mags, and since the conscript system was reinstated, there just isn't enough plastic mags to go around, but there should be *over* 8 million steel mags in mobilisation storage depots.
