I found you on you 3.0 hive lift, but I'm considering buying a Hillco extractor, so I appreciate your review. Wow, that machine is quiet! I like the metal frames inside. The new ones use plastic, and I don't think they are as quiet. Thanks for making this video.
Just as a follow-up, I did get the Hillco extractor. It is a very nice machine. Smooth and very quiet. Since mine is out in my shop, I had to find a way to block bees from getting in, but two blocks of foam and some fender washers did the trick. Let me know if you have an issue with bees getting in, and I'll show you what I did. Thanks again.
@@billbershinsky4304 The bees get in under the U-channel crossmember that the motor sits on. To keep them out, cut a piece of foam rubber to fill that space under there and stuff it in. The other spot is around the bolt that holds the crossmember down. Buy two large fender washers and put them under the knobs to completely cover the holes. No bees can get in, now, as long as the lids are closed tightly. It's a really easy fix.
That’s a great question and thanks for asking. I have two long Langstroth hives that I harvest deep frames from and I also will add a deep box on my hives if I’ve run out of medium boxes. Happy beekeeping!

I’d love to see your fix on blocking the bees out of your honey house. I have a problem when I render the wax because it brings them in like crazy.

What is the reason for doing deep frames instead of just medium
