NOTE: at the time of recording, my preorder for Clamp Champ was delayed resulting in me not being able to include him at the time of filming. Clamp Champ is a big favorite of mine so he would’ve definitely been in the top half of the list. He is now coming in and will be featured in future videos, thank you!
At first I thought I'd be satisfied with just He-Man and Skeletor. Then I thought I would be satisfied with just the whole first wave. And then I thought I'd be satisfied with just a couple more key figures. But I was wrong. I keep saying no more and then a day or two later ordering another one. It's a pretty awesome "problem" I have right now!
I've never gotten the complaints with the Skeletor head. The wide, cackling expression I think really captures the spirit of Skeletor's personality. I think its fantastic and gives him an energy absent from most other Skeletor releases. Easily a top 5 Origins figure for me
That He-Man head is very reminiscent of the mini comics depiction of him. Now that we have the vintage head, I can truly appreciate the one from the first release.
My personal favorites from your list (not in order) for various reasons are Teela, Stratos, Trap Jaw, Roboto, Man-E-Faces, Ninjor, and Orko. My favorites that are not on your list are He-Man (version 2 with the original head and full power sword) and the Sorceress. I really enjoy the Origins line and I am glad that Mattel decided to make it.
Yep that’s almost exclusively all I’ve ever seen on the pegs. It’s a shame with such a huge diverse line. If not for Big Bad Toy Store I wouldn’t have found any of them.
Great review. I appreciate you’re statement that your selections are subjective. I really love this line and it’s gotten me back into collecting after a long while. There are some characters that I would rate higher or lower, but that’s all subjective and based on my personal preferences and what I get nostalgic for. I have strong memories of playing with Stratos as a child, so he tends to rank really high up for me. I also really like the new He-man head a lot more than I thought I would. In photos it looks really flat l, but in person it totally works for me. I imagine that it must have been really difficult to sculpt such an icon figure, updating it while trying to stay true to the essence of the figure, and at first I was like “is this the Heman I know and love? And very quickly he totally feels like He-man to me. I have Scareglow, Trapjaw and Castle Grayskull on pre-order, so I can’t wait to receive them in about a million years.
Personally I don't mind the head on that first release He-Man. I mean, I get why people don't like it but still. Can't say the same thing about Skeletor though. That head looks kinda weird. As for She-Ra, they're clearly going for the Princess of Power homage with her which is fine and it makes sense.
Thank you! I was unable to find clamp champ and didn’t want to delay the video further, he will appear in future rankings though since I finally just got my preorder in!
I wouldn't have placed the Battle Armour variants or Orko so high on my list. Orko is x3 bigger than he should be, and the BA tiny symbols look really off when compared to their vintage versions.
Having three of the original 8 backs in your BOTTOM four is surely an April Fools joke! As an aside my Roboto's head can move side to side without difficulty so you may want to cautiously try.
crazy how sold out these are at every walmart and target ive been to. i assume its my generation buying them up again and selling them on ebay cause people born in 95 dont know what this is. lol
While I’ve yet to acquire a Battle Armour He-Man to complete the first four waves. The one other figure I really was lacking was Scare Glow. After finally purchasing one on Amazon for a not inflated price; that is always the put off. I then had to wait a month and a half for it to be delivered. While Amazon packers don’t really put much thought in to how they package an item, the figures carded package wasn’t too bad.
Its almost been a year since Origins came was released and I have yet to walk into any retail store and see any characters other than wave one. It's BS! Thank the little baby Jesus for Big Bad Toy Store and able to preorder all the waves and single characters or I would still be sitting here with wave 1.
Ninjor seems a bit high. But I never had a strong connection to the figure as he came out toward the end of the vintage line. I was done with the line before that, so that could just be me.
Yeah, same here. I just got Ninjor, and while he is a cool looking figure, he's also very generic and uninspired compared to the other villains. He's just...a ninja.
How did you get all of these figures by end of March 2021? I thought some of them were just becoming available now for people who had pre-ordered them. Also, they sell out so quickly!
@@fanboysforever That is very helpful information for a new collector like me. I think the implication is that even with Big Bad Toy Store the figures become available for a while, sell out, and then *may* become available again a few months later when supply catches up with demand. And then those sell out quickly again. You almost have to check their site daily if you don't want to miss out.
Hey good video but I got a totally disagree with you man I mean I think I speak for the majority of us collectors we want them to look like the original as much as possible because most of us can't afford for $500 mint on card originals I think they've done terrific job with these if I had my way they would look a little bit more like the originals
Thanks my friend but that doesn’t sound like you to totally disagree with me. I love the figures if they are different OR if they look just like the originals. It’s all about the execution and how the figure turns out. You are completely justified in wanting them to look like the originals, but wanting something new is cool too. Take care!
She-Ra is horrendous. Didn't care for Ninjor. Merman looks like hes carrying a sword made of corn. I actually do like Prince Adam. Thing is mine can't hold his sword for the life of him. I dont get why people are obsessed with the original HeMan head sculpt. It's not like it was accurate to the Filmation He-Man. Never was a fan of the Hordak figure. Orko is one of my favorites. He's an upgrade from the original and his color scheme is attractive. He's perfect for me. Teela, Man At Arms, Beast Man, and Trap Jaw are my other favorites.
Why does everyone want the old He-Man head. It sucked 40 years ago, and it sucks now, since it is the least resembling compared to mini-comics, cartoon, etc.
That 80s head comes with the Battle Armor He-man. I actually bought it today..literally found it with BA Skeletor. That 80s head does suck...i honestly cant look at it. Its a dead on 80s head copy!
Really? I actually think I’m overly positive on my channel most of the time. Just because they’re mass produced doesn’t mean you can’t form a constructive opinion on them, and let’s not kid ourselves, Origins is definitely collector focused. If you’re looking for the kids line they have one coming up for the CGI Netflix show.
This list started off good with 2 of the worst in this line but Ninjor is by far the worst. His character is just dumb to begin with and he does not fit in with the others. The same goes for Scareglow except his figure is pretty cool. Man-e- faces, Trap jaw, and Roboto are the best. And Stratos is an awesome figure.
Ninjor is my least liked character. He just doesnt fit into into the MOTU world in my opinion. It would the same as if they put a Star Wars Character in a John Wayne Western if that makes sense.
NOTE: at the time of recording, my preorder for Clamp Champ was delayed resulting in me not being able to include him at the time of filming. Yea, he doesn't look shocked at all he just looks like he's angry
But he’s nothing like the original figures
That He-Man head is very reminiscent of the mini comics depiction of him. Now that we have the vintage head, I can truly appreciate the one from the first release.
They've announced they're doing He-Man and Skeletor on cards with the OG heads around Fall.
Great video. I won't be getting the whole collection, so this detailed review with lots of good looks at each figure is a big help.
He-Man and Skeletor are my favorites. Love Scare Glow, Man at arms, robot, and Ninjor!
My personal favorites from your list (not in order) for various reasons are Teela, Stratos, Trap Jaw, Roboto, Man-E-Faces, Ninjor, and Orko. The first release of Skeletor is making an homage to one of the greatest memes. He’s saying “Myaah!”
Great video! Felt very well done and professional!
I've only ever seen tons of He-Man and Skeletor on the pegs at my stores. I think one time I saw a single Teela.
Yep that’s almost exclusively all I’ve ever seen on the pegs. It’s a shame with such a huge diverse line. If not for Big Bad Toy Store I wouldn’t have found any of them.
@@fanboysforever Yeah I'm just gonna get Scare Glow from BBTS and to hell with the rest.

Good ranking review! You forgot about Clamp Champ! My must-haves are: He-man + battle armored, (vintage head) Skeletor, (vintage head) Mer-Man, Zodac, Stratos, Ninjor, Scare Glow, Clamp Champ, Hordak, Teela, and Roboto!
Thank you! I was unable to find clamp champ and didn’t want to delay the video further, he will appear in future rankings though since I finally just got my preorder in!

Same here. It's been hard finding figures in stores. Except for Skeletor and He-man.
@@nerdspike209 yeah i just got them on ebay or amazon.
These things are Posers man, the more I mess around with them the more my collection grows.

Good idea to have a countdown. I have Zodac, Mer-Man, Roboto, She-Ra and He-Man at the top
I think Merman may be the best of the line. And I'd have Zodac in my top ten for sure.
Awesome!
Very nice review, ❤️ Tri-Klops and Battle Armor He-Man!
I’m wondering if it’s worth collecting the rerelease He-Man and Skeletor that each come with the head sculpts from the Battle Armour versions.
Just acquired 20 figures, castle greyskull, panther and battle cat, Adams sky sled for 160 quid

Man At Arms, Ninja, Tela
top 3 Hero's are 3.Teela 2. Stratos 1. Zodak
top 3 villains. 3. Evil Lynn 2. Triklops 1. Webstor
Please could u do a list off all the waves 👍🏼
Fantastic review and ranked!! ... just need to rank clamp champ .
Thank you, hopefully I can actually find a Clamp Champ soon!
I had the same problem with my orko, I had to get a replacement his left eye was so close to the middle it was almost merging
Ninjor seems a bit high. But I never had a strong connection to the figure as he came out toward the end of the vintage line. I was done with the line before that, so that could just be me.

Ninjor deserves your adoration… your respect… your loyalty. Think about that, think about that lol
Thanks for the big list. Too bad the phenomenon is plagued with scalpers.
Great review, loved it!
Thank you so much!
Roboto reminds me of trap-jaw?. He should have been higher on the list. He's a cool figure.
Where's Clamp Champ?
Good question. He was released at the same time as Ram Man. Huge oversight to not include him on this list.
i like the new he man head, its more like the cartoon
Totally valid point!
1.mer-man 2.scareglow 3.beast man 4.ninjor 5.trap jaw
Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops are my top two. Never heard of ScareGlow before this series, so he holds no nostalgia for me. Still cool though. 👍
I only have 9 figures so far, well 10 I have the Prince Adam with the sky sled but I’ve ordered the buzz saw hordak
I just started the collection so I really can't comment to much about it but I do want to know more about it cousin I am very with the Skelator I got
My roboto has a paint scuff on the eye, 😞
Awesome review on the MOTU Origins series :)
I totally agree with the top 3!! I might just make one of these types of videos, cool idea.
How dare you be so reasonable? How can we call you naughty words?
Nah , fun list though!
Lol I love it!!!
What about the white evil lyn?
I have 12 of the 20 figures shown in the 1st pic. I also have both cats. (Of the original.. not repro)
He just has the look of a man half dressed xD
Roboto Can move his neck.
I do not like the Skeletor heads, they look more like a zombie instead of a skull
Nice top 5.
How did you get all of these figures by end of March 2021? I thought some of them were just becoming available now for people who had pre-ordered them. Also, they sell out so quickly!
I just preordered them from Big Bad Toy Store, no special method to get them or anything and Mattel provides nothing to our channel.

How dare you put Zodac at 21!! the Cosmic enforcer will come for you LOL and She Ra does come from a different line..Princess of power line LOL
Bring it monster foot man! Lol I love it!
How about the newer releases
See my updated list.
Are you kidding? Man-e-faces was cool, because he had many faces
Say what?? Lol I love man e faces!
I CAN’T GET A SCARE GLOW!!!!!!!
I was like a year late getting mine, finally I preordered in big bad toy store and they shipped it out a month ago!
Try Amazon for pre-order. Not sure if it’s sold out, but worth a shot.
Skelator is oveisly the best
I think keldor and kronis are my 2 favorites
Maybe you have a thing for blue-skinned guys! 😜
Cool
Clamp Champ??? 🤔
No keldor?
This video was done before he was ever released you should watch my recent update video that features Keldor and many others.
You’re lucky dude
