Are algorythms fair? How to stop Automated weapons systems?

Artificial intelligence and robots are here to
stay, and their development and deployment into our societies will probably stop at nothing.
But this statement lets us have a simple question: If those systems are more in control of our lives
every day, how can we be sure that they are fair?
Are we not delegating too many decisions to algorithms that are copying our own social and
cultural biases?
How can we be sure that they are not a mere representation of our worst tendencies?
Researchers from all over the world are now trying to find solutions to create a more just and fair
A.I.
But at the same time, the same technologies are being applied to the war machine.
Russia, China, USA are investing strongly in automated processes for the warfare of the future. We
follow up and sit down with researchers at the ‪@weizenbauminstitut‬ Institute in Berlin, where they investigate
ways of creating more fair algorithms; and the movement Stop Killer Robots who have been
trying since 2012 to stop the implementation of automated war machines at a worldwide level.
