Thank you Happy New Year
Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo. Happy New Year to you as well, Yolanda!
why do you think the Lotus Sutra those particular verses you chanted are so important to Buddhism? When I ask people all they say is its beautiful
Those verses are excerps from the Lotus Sutra and were selected as verses that support one's way to personal healing and empowerment and enlightement - but you can also recite other sections of the Sutra. It is written in the Lotus Sutra, that anyone that reads, recites, copies or shares the Lotus Sutra brings to him or herself immeasurable benefits. There is a translation available and if you want I can mail you a Gongyo Book - so you can read it. email me at info@medicinecircle.ca The chapters are Chapter 2: Expedient Means, and Chapter 16: The Life Span of the Thus Come One. You can probably find translations of it on the SGI-USA website. When I have more time I will post the translation here. Many Blessings to you and thank you for watching.
Daniel Leonard Hi
Very nice video. 😊
I am learning how to chant nmrk. It would be very helpful if you could guide me as I have a question regarding chanting. When you chant rhythmically the chant sounds like nam yoho renge kyo. Is it ok if I chant the same way or should I say nam myoho renge kyo?
I tried chanting nam myoho renge kyo in rhythm but its difficult to pronounce nam myoho together.
Thanks☺
Nichiren wrote in his letter "The Recitation of the'Expedient Means' and 'Life Span'", "As I said before, though no chapter of the Lotus Sutra is negligible, among the entire twenty-eight chapters, the 'Expedient Means' chapter and the 'Life Span' chapter are particularly outstanding. The remaining chapters are all in a sense the branches and leaves of these chapters. Therefore, for your regular recitation, I recommend that you practice reading the prose sections of the 'Expedient Means' and 'Life Span' chapters... The remaining twenty-six chapters are like a shadow that follows one body or the value inherent in a jewel. If you receive the 'Life Span'and'Expedient Means' chapters, then the remaining chapters will naturally be included even though you do not recite them."
