@@jufejufinho Really reeeaallly bad example.... U need to know... Model making, Shape Keys, keyframing, Texturing, Lining up meshes, Collections, Particle Systems. Weight painting.. Theyve also built out the scene/imported assets and lit it? Ive been on photoshop for 25 yrs i could do a one min tutorial on loads of things , but it still takes a hell of a lot of time to learn and photoshop is a walk in the park compared to 3D Software.
@@jufejufinho Ive deleted blender twice. Got no patience when it comes to lights, materials, shaders... Got iclone and Unreal - Ooooooo Real time rendering!!, but even thats a ball ache!!!. just cause you can do vfx doesn't mean you know how to make a movie. The best thing film riot ever did was Tell, every short since then has been worse focusing on vfx instead of the heart of the film.
@@chasepearlvfx8847 You can have persistent assets, so everything doesn't need to be loaded in all over again for every frame. Helps make object count less of an issue.
This scene is really fitting for a horde of zombies. The large poster to the right shows the character of Alpha from The Walking Dead, and she lives among the zombies and controls them along with her group.
actually its Vine and Selma, one block away. the building in the bottom left corner is where alot fo content creators live. across the street is 1600 vine- wework.
THIS CHANNEL STILL EXISTS! I've been looking for you guys for years not remembering what the channel name was, I thought you stopped making content - great that I finally found you and can continue learning/ enjoying your content like the gangster father christmas days
I suggest When 3d tracking the scene, set the road as your ground plane and normalize the scene so that when you import 3d elements you wont have to eyeball the position and rotation.
Great tutorial! However, recommendation to anyone watching this; just do it in Blender. You can make a particle system (or geo nodes) there that spawns and scatters all the zombies (watch Ian Hubert's lazy crowd tutorial). Much faster, and no OBJ conversion, and the option of PBR rendering.
long render time tho.. ive also been thinking (it seems weird) if you wanted to do it in blender then dont you think you would be able to use a hair system then set the hairs to a custom object
I have a feeling that rather than worrying about an actual zombie apocalypse, the film riot crew is gonna stand idly by and just think it's another day in the office 😑
I would love to see a breakdown of where you are right now with C4D (maybe a walkthrough of a recent render) with some tips and tricks for others of us who are also just starting out in it. Thanks, as always, for all you do for the community.
Now that you've taught us how to do Snyder style zombies, maybe you should go in depth with the Snyder style of cinematography bc lately his recent movies look outstanding.

With all the marvel Disney plus shows coming out it would be cool to see wings like falcon, scarlet witch magic, Loki teleportation portals, etc...
Maybe an episode on what makes good lighting. Whether it be in cg or in camera
@@nobody_lemon8235 A glimpse of something similar to the Falcon wings effect was seen in the teaser of INTERCEPT
If you could bring back Mondays that would be great!
Personally I find that edge lighting is really easy to do and almost always yeilds good results however I've only ever found that when doing CG
Pro tip, you can use geometry nodes in blender to randomly scatter people / zombies if you model a simple street.
Yeah, why not do everything in blender? It's free and much more powerful than after effects...
@@jufejufinho Whooaaa, bit of a broad statement. Quite difficult to use 3d programs. I challange any1 to make 12min tutorial on that...

That's exactly where my mind went at 9:16 and I'm so glad they did it lol
Glad to hear we are using the same stupid brain
mine to bro hahahahaha
oh snap! that was my building in the stock zombie shot! cray!
"It's Sunday! Chick-Fil-A's closed!" haha 😆
Probably easier to do it in Blender directly but as a 3D-software-avoider I love the E3D alternative. Great tutorial guys. Film Riot FTW!!
longer render time tho.. especially with that amount of objects AHH

I recognize that opening shot's location - Sunset & Vine in Hollywood! Boy, George Romero would have had a field day with this tech!

Ight but why does Josh have such nice legs? Props.
Now, plugin ( like elements 3D, trapcode suite, etc, ) is a must in the project. Otherwise, it could take forever. :)

Zombies. The cliche of cliches. The worn out sock without any holes in it, because the only thing left is the part that wraps around your ankle.
