The flag with yellow, red and blue stripe is the flag of North-Holland (Learned something with you today, cause I had to look it up too.. :) )
oh cool, thanks!
@@ItsCharlieVest Here you can see the 12 flags of the provinces of The Netherlands. I hope the link doesn't make a problem again.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_provinces_of_the_Netherlands
Ahh didn't know that one either
4:05 It doesn't look dutch, it's Dinant, Belgium, Wallonia
Houthavens is actually a neighbourhood in Amsterdam….
I am a dutch guy i think its a great country thats wy people move here
I lived in Amsterdam, you could compare it with NY,ers there is a large patriotisme for the city and comunity. Is not that other parts of the country hate poeple from Amsterdam, when i moved to the south poeple loved the fact that i lived in Amsterdam, you become more open to other cultures and you'r world vieuw is brouder.( dont know if my spelling is correct) when speakin of the city you wil gett some critesisme it stinks and to many tourists or you smell the coffeeshops two streets away. But i have some much love for the city and the poeple of Amsterdam
The yellow red and blue flag is the flag of Noord-Holland.
cool thanks
That little car you saw was not really a car but a "brommobiel". A kind of covered moped that only goes 45 kmph. Mostly used by the disabled and elderly. You don't need a driving license for cars for it. Only a moped driving license.
10:51 that's a "canta", which is not a regular car but a mini-car specifically for the physically disabled to get around with. They're allowed on bicycle paths with a maximum of 25km/h (15mph) and on city roads with a maximum of 45km/h (28mph). non-disabled people actually can't own these.
To help a little bit, here is a wikipedia link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canta_(vehicle)
That would explain why it's so small I guess lol
The trees look like ash trees. cant tell for sure bcs we cant see the twigs and leaves that well but it seems like an ash (Fraxinus).
Awesome thanks
Sorry man, but you should really try and pay more attention, to the video that you are reacting too. He mentioned in the start of the video where this project is realized. He actually shows and mentions the exact neighborhood in Amsterdam where this being built.
im sorry
@@ItsCharlieVest no worries man! Keep up the good work.
Why so much video from other countries than The Netherlands? I see flags from Germany and Colombia. It seems the plan follows the general idea creating appartments rather than houses. Fortunately I've never had to live in an appartment. And yes, it's not that we don't like people from the west of the country but just the part of the country in general. For me the border lies on the vertical line through Utrecht. I won't go over that border. Road tax in The Netherlands is calculated based on the weight of the vehicle. Hence light, small cars. Electric cables are always underground.
Huh? Most dutch don’t like Amsterdam? I dont think that is true. Its more the goodnatured rivalry between cities, places that people live. But we even have that in the east between cities like Zwolle and Deventer. At most theres this stereotype that city dwellers look down upon rural areas and viceversa, but is true for every country in the world. I think most people that do not live in Amsterdam appreciate the beauty of the city, what it offers. But don’t like its busy touristy center. The architecture in Amsterdam IS dutch archtecture that you see everywhere. The exact combination of large canals with high old (packing) houses might be more amsterdam. But how they look is in a lot of cities.
in my city, Dordrecht, we have something similar being build, stadswerven. look it up if your interested
Hi Charlie, that small car is a disabled car, most of the time with a low speed of at least 35 km, you can drive it with your moped license
did you know the flag of France is like a dutch flag on it's side?
The houses with the mountain behind is Dinant, Ardennen (South of Belgium). Its stunning, you can hike there, cano, mountainbike, climbing..Its not too high so its quite easy. Its like 3 h drive from south of Netherlands.
Also place of birth of Adolphe Sax, inventor of the saxophone.
it was a car for invalides
Love the water
Houtpoort looks like the inner circle of Amsterdam... the original style of Amsterdam... ik love it... canals... canal houses... canal bridges... not wat the dutch hated... The outer circle of Amsterdam is not very beautiful
The thing around 20:00 is De Pijp, with one of my favorite architectural styles ever: Amsterdamse School
05:36 It's because that's the adjacent neighborhood. The shot is taken from Houthaven, looking at the neighborhood next to it. It might seem a bit on the quiet side at the moment, but that will probably change in the future. The City of Amsterdam is planning to build a new area called 'Havenstad' next to it.
That car is so cute
Are your bike tires taller though? Lol
Hey Charlie, all provinces in the Netherlands have their own flag.
I'm in my forties now, but in the wood harbor I parked my ship there, then I went with my crew to celebrate the weekend in the red light district, while my wife thought I was at work!!😁😁😁
oh lol
Very nice, very interesting!
I like the weird wide screen video format. keep it up man!
I actually don't know what happened lol it came out that way after editing through resolve even though I had everything set to 1080p in obs and davinci resolve editing and even handbrake encoding software. I'm actually genuinely confused as to why I ended up with that aspect ratio cuz I didn't change anything from what I normally do but I agree, it looks really nice
One day you will be a professional 🔇 😉
maybe one day lol
Haussmann isnt even dutch. What does he know about it😅
haha
Haussmann seems to be naming himself after Georges-Eugène Haussmann, one of the most important city planners in history, responsible for the general make up of Paris, its boulevards et cetera.
good morning Charlie!
goedemorgen
'The school of Amsterdam' mentioned in this video refers to an architectural style (De Amsterdamse School) see nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amsterdamse_School_(bouwstijl)
I feel you might brushed over that, while you did like the round forms of it.
sorry about that
@@ItsCharlieVest no problem, I just wanted to make sure you where aware of the style.
