- Yes guys! In this video I took on World number 6 Truls Moregardh in Virtual Reality! This is an interesting one because I’ve been playing VR Table Tennis for more than 2 years now… can a real life pro defeat me! Will his real life skills translate into the game?
We’re playing on the number 1 virtual realty Table Tennis Simulator in the world ELEVEN. Big shout out to those guys sponsoring this video!
So I took on Truls when he was at the WTT Singapore Smash at the ELEVEN booth. I was based at the TableTennisDaily HQ in the UK, so pretty cool how we can have a table tennis match from different sides of the globe. Enjoy! - Спорт

Played since Legacy on HTC Vive! I was in the top 100 in 2020 for a while! Then it got really popular with the influx of locked-down people and I couldn't keep up. It's a good sweat on days I can't go to the club 👍

Truls sounds like he’s rubbing one out. Like sometimes you watch table tennis and there is suspicious sounds but he went next level here and I’m glad no one was around.
For people that say this looks laggy: they are screen recording the game, which takes a pretty big toll on performance, so yeah, it lags when you screen record. Currently there are no good ways to spectate eleven sadly, even the PC spectate function doesn't translate the smooth gameplay feel on quest 2. In good ping conditions, and a temp controlled room, the gameplay is butter smooth.
I tried recording with the Quest 3, I didn't notice the lag, so that's a nice improvement.

Damn I love your VR stuff guys ... been in VR ETT for two years now, almost never missing a single practice every day of the week. Just way too good. Also play TT real life so now I'm used to switching from one to the other.

i'm ranked a modest top 100,000 on Eleven (there's almost 2 million total registered players). I set it up so I get to play anyone from any rank. One time I got matched with someone placed 20 (twenty). It was like he was playing a different game: insane speed, spin & control. I still somehow managed three points :D
Otherwise mostly play against similar rank, got a 50/50 win-rate and sometimes have brilliant ralleys. Vast majority of players well-behaved, even the odd trollish ones are harmless. Great game, really well-engineered & designed...will be regular fun for many years!
Would be great to see more pros playing Eleven 🙌
The way things are going with VR, AI and the whole new technology disrupt, those kind of real life and virtual life blends are definitely fun to watch. This could be the start of a series of videos: TTpros in VR.
Don't know how I missed this one, love Eleven Table Tennis, I hope more professionals can get involved with it. Truls is one of my favourite players, nice to see him giving it a go.
That VR game should’ve had a virtual Cybershape racket so it’ll be better

from what I've seen the overall gameplay is more smooth
I think the lag you’re witnessing is the difference between the 90(?) fps required in-headset to play VR and the likely 30-60 fps being recorded. If you pay attention to the overhead camera angles there is no lag because those shots are recorded on PC as opposed to the Quest 2 headset, which is basically only as powerful as a smart phone or even less. As for actual lag in-game, there are sliders to compensate for playing someone across the world or if your opponent’s (or your) internet connection is spotty. You also have the ability to limit opponents by geographic proximity if latency is affecting your sessions

He should have played like he plays in real life. He was too conservative.
Feeling in game is different than real life. He would have had to train in the game for a few weeks to get the feeling down, but then his irl performance would drop. The game is really good for tactics and strategy, but seeing as to there not being any weight to the ball, just a haptic feedback, then the physics is slightly off, it is not a perfect simulator. However, it is by far the best simulator and worth every penny.
I play both irl and vr. Lately more vr due to how convenient it is.
the game is true realistic to real life,but for now it could only come to 80% realistic,for pro players they will feel limited
