  • Felt like a long time since I last visited Exeter Airport. September 2020 was the last time I've been spotting, not much has changed since the last visit as the airport is steadly increasing traffic in & out of the airport. I also came due to British Airways only a few weeks away from operating its last Belfast to Exeter flight before Emerald will takeover the route. Was hoping to have seen some Emerald ATR72's while I was visiting but some have already headed over to Ireland for training. Instead got to see Flybe doing engine test runs along with looking at the Damaged Atlantic Airlines 737 after its hard landing and look at SAS E195 that was former Flybe.
The Following airlines we saw includes the following:
Blue Islands ATR72, British Airways Embraer E190, Loganair Embraer 145, Flybe Dash 8 along with a few private light aircraft & Devon Air Ambulance and Police Helicopter. with a nice flypast of the Merlin as well.
Hope you all enjoy the video & thank you for watching.

Thanks for this. I did not realise Exeter had a viewing area. When I was a kid (45 + years ago) I would jump on the green-line bus at the Old Kent Road in Peckham for the two-hour ride to Heathrow with an enormous airwave radio and a spotters book, sarni's and juice. I'd get home about 12 hours later, happy if I'd spotted a few Boeing 727s. I think I need to introduce my grandson to this hobby - with a pocket-sized radio.

Your welcome, it's a great viewing area looking at the airfield, just to let you know this was viewed in the airport car park at number 4. It's a good hobby to do.

Appreciate the comment bud. I've not been aware of a Aer Lingus A320 operating to Dublin from Exeter.

That route from Exeter to Dublin won't have been an A320, that been a turboprop aircraft ATR72 operating the route.

@@BensPlanesTrainsProductions When I saw it go overhead it looked like an a320 because it wasn't a turboprop and it have winglets that looked like a a320 series

Aer Lingus don't have any A320's that's Winglets in its fleet. Over Newton Abbot is the flight path for planes coming in or going out towards Spain on route to Bristol and further afield and also for flights coming from Ireland.

And this is why Exeter will always be the Capital of the West Country, Until Plymouth reopen their Airport that lots of Brown Envelopes stop changing hands lmfao

Plymouth won't open again, the land is being used as houses there now. There's no space to make a new airport. Exeter will be the spot in Devon.
