I like how you are using a calm tone in describing how to do this. I looked up this how to video, I'm sure like others, in a fit of rage and needed some cool down time. That bolt needs to have an access hole in the fly wheel. I will be drilling and tapping a 3/4" hole and plug it with a plumbing plug
Same here. I would have tried to remove the flywheel if I hadn’t seen this video. New Chinese starter from Amazon seems like a very quality new production unit. Night and day operation. I can’t remember my 18.5 twin Briggs ever starting so fast.
Super helpful -- would have removed flywheel if I hadn't seen this. Makes it easy to remove and rebuild starter.

Thanks, I couldn't figure out how to get the second bolt off of the starter. Your video got me through it.

Perfect thank you! I’ll quit tapping the flywheel with the sledge hammer to try and break it loose
Thank you for the best video I've found on this problem.
That was a long time ago, but thats what I was needing to see. Been subbed for a loooong time.
so it's shorter? what is the problem as you just installed the amazon motor without a problem???
Nice job. Thanks!
