I was amazed at the earlier DJI drones and the range they were getting with 2.4 and 5.8ghz and these newer ones just blow me away. If the battery would go twice as far I bet the signal would still be good. I just recently picked up a mini 4 pro for myself.
If you are doing the range test, screen recording screen should be always show on the screen for us to see otherwise it's pointless.... Also you should show us the aircraft orientation ball so we also know how the wind is affecting the flight.
You said you were trying to keep the antennas pointed at the drone. Are you pointing the ends? I learned somewhere that you're supposed to face the flat part of the antennas towards the drone since that's the direction the signal emanates from the antennas.
I thought you had a plus battery for your mini 3 pro? If so you can use it for your mini 4 pro. When you add the plus battery you will get an amazing flight time even better than the mini 3 pro. Also the drone will be a beast in the wind. When I do range tests I cancel the return to home warning and fly to 55 percent. That gives 5 more percent than the trip out it also helps when you are flying into the wind so that the wind is pushing you on your way back. The drone will still fly around a mile when it hits 0% dji has safely features to persevere the battery life. So at 0 percent you can check your battery status in the app and seeing it still has some juice left. But I totally understand why you don't want to risk it flying over water on your way back. But if you turn around at 55 percent you'll be fine. The mini 4 pro will get around 8 miles in certain places. Way further than the mini 3 pro which you got pretty far out with yours. But you'll get much further with the mini 4 pro . Just get the battery plus. It's a must.
@@CirclingtheDrone For me I found that I save a lot of money when ordering straight from the Dji fly app or website. Sometimes amazon will charge hidden fees like taxes and shipping costs. I purchased the smart controller separately for my air 3 amazon was going to charge me 490.00 with shipping and taxes but I got it from DJI for 369.00. So check them out to see when you can save money. I live in West Virginia and they shipped it out from California 2 days ups air. So they ship pretty fast.
How are these other youtubers getting 6 and 7 miles, havent tested mine properly yet but so far over farm land with a few electric pylons im getting just over a mile
Really all just depends on the wind that day and if there’s any major interference. A lot of other guys are also pushing the battery to its absolute limit to get those distances as well. Talk about the ultimate pucker factor on the way home 😂
What we all love to see …a good Sunday drive…except it’s not Sunday ….and it’s a drone ….but ya ….

Yes. The flat part
Brave doing range test with the last bit being over water
I just updated to the RC2 controller I barely have any range at all now.
Go to button configuration and set C2 for Cruise Control. It's life changing :)

Sie sollten wirklich nicht so viel Angst haben mit ihrem Flieger...Sie könnten viel weiter damit fliegen.... 😇

Great range. You must be in a spot with good visibility and little to know wifi interference.

Great job
So no VLOS requirements in your country ?
There probably is but some people don’t like following rules to well . Someone could see this and then give them a fine.
Wir lieben diese weiten Flüge in einer sicheren Umgebung 😊
Nice
I'm going to buy the mini 4k i was going to buy the se second hand from Amazon but for the sake of 20 bucks I'm just going to buy the 4k new
I did 17km total 8km distance with strong bars returned with 20 percent
Can we change distance feet to meters?
Yes.
So....Kip, you should know by now that you're not permitted to fly drones in a State Park......right?
