Auronzo di Cadore is a picturesque. What is more it is very good place to stay during your trip to the Dolomites. It's close to hiking trails such as Cadini di Misurina, Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Lago di Braies make this part of South Tyrol a fantastic location.
Lago di Santa Caterina, also known simply as Lago di Auronzo, is an artificial lake created by a dam on the Ansiei River. It was built in the 1930s.
The lake is approximately 2 kilometers long and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The lake is popular for various water sports, including kayaking, canoeing, and pedal boating. There are also walking and cycling paths around the lake, making it a great spot for outdoor activities.
