Go ask people in Venezuela how they feel about him and his buddy Hugo Chavez? I'm sure he means well, but his philosophies have failed and have destroyed millions of lives and killed millions of people. Yet he's somehow hailed as some kind of a humanitarian? Chomsky is surprisingly easy to interview. Not only does he respond to Joe Public regularly by email, you can find him doing interviews with everyone from top journalists (like David! hh) to random podcasters all the time. There are interviews out there with various 'unknowns' who have shot him an email and he responded. He also speaks regularly to quite extreme characters on the right. Don't forget, he did an interview with Alex Jones (2007) and even Stefan Molyneux (c. 2014). Chomsky is a true public intellectual who will speak to almost anyone.

Chomsky is very much an old-school activist who engages and debates his opponents. Today's progressives are often too scared of 'platforming' people, which is not obviously a better approach, in my opinion.

Yeah it was really good. Not to be pedantic either but, Chomsky is called a liberal by people who like him and by those who hate him, but definitionally he’s not a liberal which is a good thing. I mean politically liberal, not the common use term. Again, sorry, I’m being pedantic. Political liberals are more like the establishment Democrats, very much keep all major things as the status quo, but maybe tinker with a phew things around the edges. They don’t want theocracy and conservatism, but they don’t want workers equality or expansion of rights either.
