If you spawn the Laminar S76 in cold start mode and follow this tutorial to the letter, you'll never leave the ground. You need to very slightly move the throttle lever forward even before starting the engine, otherwise it'll never cross into the "green zone" and just stays around 50.
You have to bind Engine Governor in hotkeys settings to fly this helicopter properly. After starting both engines just set the Governor on and then fly.
Thanks for the help! I was finally able to start up my S-76 in X-Plane 10 properly. Is it possible you could do a S-76 shutdown? (Turn off engines, lights, etc) It’d be pretty cool if you did
i'm having a problem with the fuel and power levers. they never spool up and stabilize (go in the green). and whenever i throttle up, i always lift about 10-20 ft, fuel cuts off and i crash.
Yah, I just bought the game and went straight to VR with no tutorial. Needless to say I don't think I will be hijacking a helicopter anytime soon. I wish the game would have better vr support, the tutorials don't work at all in vr. They really need some way to train newbs in vr, how am I supposed to ever learn to fly a 747? Watching a video, putting on the headset and flipping switches and taking the headset off to watch more video is a tremendous pain!
Regarding the power lever for engines, you dont move them... but after you start up engine, when you look back up at them, they have moved??? so i have manually moved them, but doesnt seem to work properly? Did you cut the bit where you moved them? or is there a switch somewhere that will make them auto move?
Either they moved on their own when the engine was spooled up or I accidentally moved the throttle lever on my joystick. They should be in the aft position. while starting. To much throttle will lead to a hot start and a TOT (turbine output temp) of over the operating limits. You'll be looking at the T5 gauge. With just you in the aircraft you should be able to take off with 70% throttle and use the collective to add your lift.
Can't seem to hold Or Get Throttles to Max Power to Hover & Fly this Helicopter...!!! SOOO Frustraed right now. My Thrust controls are Assigned to the "9" Key & When I press it, it starts increasing the engine & Blade spool up, But only to 60-70 %,....then I Release the 9 Key, & The RPMs decrease again !! Someone Please Help this Grounded Pilot !!!
So many things wrong with this video...for starters it's said to be a C model but clearly it's not. That is an A model cockpit layout and the instruments suggest it has Arriel 1S engines. That makes it an A+ model. The C model is completely different. However the collective control has OEI 30SEC/2.5MIN/MCP switch. Those are only found on the C+ and C++ models. The starter button should be on the engine lever (not where shown in the video) and this is true for all S76 models, whatever engine is installed. During the start the T5 is shown to rise before the fuel is heard to ignite, this never happens! And all the other engine instruments show completely whacky indications during the start. "Fire master warning light" - no such thing. etc etc etc. But it is only a flight sim, although not a very accurate rendering of the real aircraft.

Good video, but just a heads up; you should turn on the strobe, position and anti-collision lights in advance of starting the engine.
Thanks for the Tip.
Thanks for the instruction! everything is simple and accessible explained!! Good luck!!

Thanks man
I can lift off but how do you actually move forwards? I use the keyboard keys and a joystick.

When you finally landed the heli, take a look at your panels above and shut down the mixtures and throttles and turn off generators and batteries
I held the engine starter till the N1 read 54%, I let it go, and it never went in the green. Any advice on how to fix this would be great.
Hello,
I followed your description precisely. I hear an engine start but it goes out very quickly and nothing happens. Can you help me ?
tail rotor not turning off fn+f5
What is the use of mixture ratio ?

Adjust the throttles up there..the white nobs..bring them full forward check rpm..then use the collective "power" to bring it back to the green

*Can you please do a video on autopilot*
did u find any video about that?

At 5:29, is that an AI MD-80? Great vid, btw:)
yes
Any idea why my left Hydraulic Pressure gauge is showing 0?
has no pressure dude
I have problema i cant take off i cant why i press every key on my Keyboard
My engines don’t start. I’ hold the starter until 54 percent and then it all shuts down
hold it more until its midway in the green
You don't use fuel pumps?
fuel pumps itself
good video dude¡¡like and sub¡¡ regards

Yes, I wish there was a more accurate model in the xplane store
I regret buying it
