Someday you will look back and recognize this unexpected chance to live at home with parents who love you and a job that IS worthwhile and helping to build your resume is a precious gift. If I had it to do over, I would take a year after grad school to go back home because once you get married and have kids, you can never go home to be an adult “kid” again. You’re a very hard worker, you’re already more successful than you seem to realize, and you have a chance to revisit life at home one last time. Such a season will never come again. You have the rest of your life to explore the world. You haven’t settled into your parent’s home indefinitely. You aren’t mooching off of them while sleeping all day and playing video games all night. You’re literally doing everything right. Please relax and slow down. You’re in a good place. It’s temporary. It’s also a great time to build a savings account for when you do move out. I’d give anything to have just one year to work in my hometown and come home every night to my parents one more time. You’re the kind of grown child that any parent would be proud of. You’re letting social media and your own excessive expectations keep you from realizing that you’re living the best of both worlds right now. You should be proud of yourself and you should soak up everything that being at home and working your first real job is teaching you. Life is going to take you places that you can’t even dare to dream right now. Your work ethic and discipline alone will take you far. You’re not missing anything. Be brave and patient enough to bloom where you’re planted. Life will uproot you soon enough. Just my well-intended 2 cents. I think you’re doing great.
I get that feeling like you failed with job searching. For you it was not finding a job in NC and for me it was not finding a job related to my degree. I personally find working a 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday or any full time job to be more exhausting and time consuming than being a college student.
Working full time is certainly draining, my best advice is having hobbies that bring you joy outside of work. But I know it can be exhausting to do anything. Branching off another comment I see here, I agree in enjoying the time home with family. Even though it's not where you want to be right now. Once you leave, you may never go back. I've been at my job for 6 years and I've lived on my own/with my husband for 3+ of those years. While I love the independence, it is hard to transition to being fully responsible for everything, like making dinner after a long day. Hang in there, I know it can be difficult, wishing you all the best!
Amazing video Charlotte!! Really enjoyed everything about it :) If possible in the future, could you do a video revving up your car? So we can hear how it sounds!
Hi Charlotte it’s Steven from Instagram so yes I did pull through and I’m been going to counseling I just wanna say thank you so much for being there for me. Doing this difficult time for me I know it’s weird talking about this on here. But for some reason I can’t get on into your instagram. So yeah I know it most it had been scary when you got the news that I was in the hospital. But I’m doing ok and getting up. I love you my friend hopefully we can talk again one day. God bless you and have a happy holiday.
Your description of how you are feeling with working and being exhausted .... ME TOO. I am back in the office more than before and it really takes its tole on me mentally and physically. It will get better, I know, but listening to you describe how crappy it is making you feel.... I'm here to tell you that I get you 100% right now. We got this girl. Thank you for reminding me that I am not the only one.
Hi Charlotte. Enjoyed the vlog! You are kind, you’re caring, and you’re wise! What doesn’t take you down will only make you stronger. Where you are right now will help you step into where you are going next. As far as your channel is concerned, it continues to be as enjoyable as always. You are spending your time with and sharing with others who may need something that you have to offer! So, just continue to be you, and know that it is more than enough 💛🧡💛🧡
Thank you for your honesty. I just got back to Rhode Island today and I miss Maine so much. Everything will work out the way it's supposed to be. Nothing lasts forever, anything can change. So excited to hear that you are moving soon. Just try to take it one day at a time. 😀
It’s been a long time since I commented on your channel, but I look forward to your videos every week 🫶🏼 Life after college/university is hard and it’s a big change starting a full time job and not having the «freedom» that we used to have. I feel you… But 2024 is going to be great and I can’t wait to hear your plans 😍 I love your videos- it doesn’t have to be a super exciting travel vlog or something fancy. It’s just nice to see content that I can relate to and to see a «normal life». No matter what, I’m rooting for you and I’m excited for what’s to come 🥰
Good morning Charlotte happy Monday morning and I hope you having amazing weekend and happy belated Thanksgiving day to you and your loved ones and I enjoy your channel
Hi Charlotte, thank you for being so honest! After graduating college my first job was not what I had envisioned because it was quite hard to find a job with a major in the humanities. But a couple of years later I got a job that I really wanted, and it was only possible because of that first job. So don't give up ❤. And I still love your vlog, life is not always about big parties and great adventures 😊.
Your a very bright and bubbly personality and a humble person I like that you went to Michigan that’s my favorite college football team Go blue !!!!! Your very smart and got good common sense and a well communication you should try being a flight attendant you be good in because of your ability to be well communicative work for Delta or American Airlines you could live in the southern states Georgia or Texas well anyway s love❤ your vlogs
I absolutely get what you’re saying about moving back home after college when that wasn’t the plan (as well as “home” not really feeling like somewhere you fit, I feel the exact same way.) I knew I’d move back home for a while until I could afford to move out again, but now rent’s so high I can’t afford to. Feel like a terrible person for even complaining when I know so many people are struggling too but don’t have that safety net of family to live with to fall back on, but man it’s just not a pleasant experience when it’s just not where you ever hoped to be, even though you know it could be worse
You should be so proud of all that you’ve accomplished so far, you’re going through a massive transition period right now and the burnout is real, quater life crisis is a thing! You are taking little steps to achieve your goals and they may feel slow but I have every faith in you that you’ll achieve those goals ❤
Hey Charlotte. I love all your videos. and I can totally relate to your mental health right now (although it's a really young age to feel like that cause i'm in 9th). I feel really like depressed i think... like there is nothing fun in my life rn. I really want something to come in my life like a festival or something. Till then I only have you as my support. I really hope you feel better soon and I love you very much. One last thing, have you read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte ??
Hi Charlotte! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about your life! I’ve the same feeling about my life. At least I’m not alone 🫣🫣 I wish your plans for 2024 become a reality P.S I love your vlogs 🩵🩵😍😍🤩🤩🫶🏻🫶🏻
Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with family. You will move when you feel it's the right time to do it just don't feel like there's rush. It's normal to get burnout right now especially if you're working full time it happens it's normal. Hopefully you can come visit NY one day. Stay well and safe in scarborough babe.
Thank you Charlotte for such beautiful q & a video. I was asking the question todo list one and u give the answer in such a good way which sounds so good for me and i definitely try those tips which you suggest and thanks again 🥰
I just like seeing different people's lives, so definitely still interested. If anything it's nice to see someone with a more relatable life to mine (working a day job, limited self-directed time to go out and do fun things)-- multiple people I follow have recently quit their day job or graduated college and not gotten a day job, so I'm starting to run low on channels with that relatability.
Hi Charlotte 🙂 🚙 I KNOW that 2024 is going to be your year. Obviously, you have big plans for next year. I'm looking forward to your '12 Days of Christmas' videos.
I'M SO GLAD YOU LIKED THE SEVEN YEAR SLIP OMG I remember commenting on your reset video how much I loved it haha. We really do have the same taste in books 😉 I swear, it's been a whole year since I've loved a romance book that much ugh
I explained a little bit in the video but I was looking for somewhere a little warmer, and that had more of a city feeling without being as big as NYC or Boston!

Super curious! Why North Carolina and why is the dream city Raleigh ?
I explained a little bit in the video but I was looking for somewhere a little warmer, and that had more of a city feeling without being as big as NYC or Boston!
