    Thank you for taking the time to put this together - taking time out to provide information freely to public is a wonderful thing to do - well done!

    As students are currently in quarantine and trying to keep up with impromptu online classes, videos like this are such a life-saver - Thank you!

    Hi, your video is clear but if I have a problem like this one I am going to post. how can I apply this rule?Isabella Nunez is the marketing manager for Safe Home
    Inc. Safe Home Inc. offers a new electronic home security device. Isabella is
    examining whether she should offer a single package or a basic package with
    additional options at higher prices. She is looking at data from a survey that
    was conducted during the concept stage of product development. One research
    question asked a sample of home owners what they would be willing to pay for
    this electronic home security device. Assume Isabella gets the following three
    sets of means and standard deviations (from three separate samples of home
    owners). Which set of mean and standard deviation would suggest that Isabella
    should offer the basic package and several options at higher prices? Explain
    your answer.M = $425 and SD =42.2M = $505 and SD = 15.3M = $595 and SD = 120.5

    I think it's helpful to emphasize that lots of measurements are approximately normally distributed, but the standard normal curve N(0,1) is used to make z-scores.

    Wouldn't it be .14 on each side? If not, can you help me understand why it's .13? Thanks for the video!

      I think you look at the data and then define it based on that.

    why you didn't put the two parts together, they total less than 10 minutes just for only one video with no interruption ;)

    Those who use the normal distribution should always be aware that the independent values range from -infinity to +infinity. In reality, nothing has this range.

    Thank you very much for posting this! hamoon, if you haven't got anything to say sometimes it's best to say nothing.

    • @Hundura
      @Hundura 10 років тому

      Hamoon actually made an excellent point and he wasn't rude about it either. This video may be helpful to people looking for a review but this video is definitely not for someone who is just starting statistics.

    • @joshuataylor6087
      @joshuataylor6087 10 років тому

      Hundura Well then maybe hamoon should go to the trouble of making his own tutorial and posting it. Then we can all see if he can do a better job or if he is just a windbag, as his post would imply.

    • @Hundura
      @Hundura 10 років тому

      Joshua Taylor He didn't say the video was bad, he merely said this video doesn't make sense to those who have not taken a statistics class before. Have you used UA-cam much? get used to people leaving their opinions in the comment box - I guarantee many will be harsher then Hamoons opinion.

    Thank you but that was not 'explained simply'. Even the 'real data' you presented did not make sense to me. You can call me stupid if you like but I don't think I am :-). For example, what does it mean to have 'variable 2 = 0 occuring ~90 times??
