The show's called Mieruko-chan, but it has some triggering scenes like a ghost touching an oblivious girl, things like blood, and I think a ghost with a noose around his neck(maybe not)
If you like that the idea of the anime/manga Mieruko-chan is basically this. Girl realizes she alone can see ghosts and needs to pretend she does so she don't get killed
A full version of this game should definitely discourage fast movements looking away from the monster. Like really make the player "act" like theres nothing wrong. Also, if the player stands around too long and lets the monster get close, there could even be a hand that reaches around and rests on their shoulder. Huge potential.
That kind of game would work really well especially the concept or punishing the player for sudden movements like looking away from the monster too fast
@talistrahan6374 don't act like i'm talking nonsense dude, it's the same bs that has been made already a bunch of times over the past few years, it's boring calling it indie is a lame excuse
When the ending showed the mum looking in the corner I thought the game was gonna reveal that this whole family just lives like this, constantly going about their day avoiding looking at a monster in the corner of their eyes
Comedy horror where the monster looks evil, disgusting and utterly horrifying but it's actually really nice and just wants to help people with their math homework, but people keep getting themselves killed during their attempts to run away (like slipping over and hitting their head too hard on something, or running away from it only to run into something actually dangerous, like a bear, or a snake, or something. Depends on where it's happening.)
Imagine if the monster picked a blind and deaf person. Unless they make the mistake of bumping into it, they can’t even realize it’s there, so the monster could never kill them.
I imagine the monster knows very well that the person it's stalking can see it. Actively avoiding and ignoring something is a clear indication that you can see it, or at least know something's there. I believe the monster is just toying with its victims, putting up or playing into an arbitrary rule that it will follow until it gets bored and decides to strike. Like a game of cat and mouse. This means it either wouldn't pick a blind and deaf person to stalk, because what's the point, or it would pick a blind and deaf person, realize they're blind and deaf, get bored immediately and dispose of them. To further prove that this is the case, the monster strikes at the end, when the kid fears it the most. Not because the kid is clearly able to see it, but because it just killed his mother. Any kid would start crying if their mother started floating before suddenly getting brutally killed by an invisible entity. The monster is just extremely sadistic. A perfect fit for Mark.
There's this TED talk by Cecilia McGough about schizophrenia, her life sounds a lot like this. There's always a creepy clown in her perception of the world and she has to actively ignore him.

hard agree, this one is really cool to me cause I used to have these weird fits of paranoia as a kid where I thought something was behind me and going to kill me imminently, and my way of coping with it was to not look where I thought it was-- I'd be frozen making peace with my long 8 years in this world for a solid 30 minutes and then when I heard someone nearby I'd snap out of it, in my early teens it just stopped and I have no clue what it was
Same here! I highly recommend the manga or anime for Meiruko-chan; it's pretty much exactly this. Poor girl can see terrifying and grotesque ghosts and decides to just pretend she can't in order to get them to leave her alone. Mix of funny and horrifying, with some fun explorations of the concept.

Yeah, just the concept of this video and feeling constantly like something could happen at any moment.. It just horrifies me... Like i can do scary videos, i can handle the jumpscares and the gore.. but these types of games... Those are what really scare me. When you don't know if something will happen, or if you feel like somethings out of place... The only word i can use to describe it is "unsettling"
The monsters response at the end makes no sense, like of course the kids going to start balling if his mother dies right in front of him, regardless of whether the monster is visible or not.
Yeah but he is gonna see the monster when he looks at his mom dying? Literally can’t even look at the mom’s face cause the monster’s hand around her neck. Also if someone/thing was killing my mom infront of me, I would 100% instinctively look at the killer. Ending makes sense
Reminds me of the short horror film “ignore it”. It’s an interesting concept of a monster only attacking if imagined, acknowledged etc. Heck the unknown in dbd is very interesting to me aswell in how if you know of its existence it will kill you. Like it never wants to be known.
I think the short you're talking about might've been featured in one of Jack's 3 scary videos series. Otherwise a similar premise, but it's really an interesting concept

People are talking about how like obv you can see it because you avoid it but the monster knows that, its final line is "You CAN see me!" it knew the child could always see them, it just enjoys playing the game, which is actually terrifying
The graphics and lack of real music make it scarier and honestly the fact markiplier didn't die once so ill just leave it up to my imagination what the jumpscare would look like
That's probably pretty apt. So often we're pressured to just pretend like nothing's wrong, like the past doesn't matter or shouldn't matter to the very people living with the scars from it. "Pretend it's not there" when it's looming over your shoulder.

this game re--induces the fear of something behind you that you may or may not see, so by the nature of curiosity we want to look it but also scared that "if" it exist it will be scary. and also that if we see nothing but still try to interact with it, somehow it will become real. so yeah the best way is to never think of it.

this game re--induces the fear of something behind you that you may or may not see, so by the nature of curiosity we want to look it but also scared that "if" it exist it will be scary. and also that if we see nothing but still try to interact with it, somehow it will become real. so yeah the best way is to never think of it.
One game doing it very well is Rince and Repeat
A simple game in which you take a shower... except if you decide not to out of purely unjustified apprehension
It’s so funny all the little sounds that mark makes when he sees the monster following him, im in tears!
That light behind Mark, flickered at the most Disconcerting time, but right moment.
yay, nothing beats a new Markimoo video especially when I’m sat here rewatching the UNO series for the 1023rd time (never gets old)
I was rematching lethal company im so happyy xD
Only 1023 times? rookie numbers
I love to rewatch Mark play The Forest and Raft.
I just rewatched the entire dead space episodes, from.1,2,3 and the remake
Bro, no joke, I've been rewatching the UNO series today too!
0:31, Didn't think Mark still remembered Slenderman. 😱🤣
of course he does wdym
5:45
“That’s an inconvenient way to open a door”
I love this guy 😭
‘Pretend it’s not there’
Didn’t know they made a game about how my dad looks at me
Oh
Jesus. You deserve better.
I can relate to this comment
Sounds like he failed if he is looking at you though
I don't even know what to say, but I hope you get all the love you deserve and more. 😢
0:59 mark says oh without opening his mouth. Hes so talented.
Monster: *Exists*
Mark: *Looks at it*
Also Mark: *Starts speaking alien language*
Zorp 👽
7:52 he definitely did the finger trick
Or a calculator lol
this is my biggest fear, its so cool someone made a video game describing this exact feeling i feel almost daily with my anxiety disorders!
well even though this monster will eventually kill you despite your best efforts, while he is with you, you are effectively equipped with a super weapon, go into a public gathering, everyone instantly gets scared of the monster and the monster kills them meanwhile you try your best to keep pretending
Loving this keanuiplier era, also 50/50 that intro bits pitch was "lixian put in a little monster that bites me and I scream scream,*screams* use that one or "put a little critter behind me" and he just has a library of Mark screams
Well, as marks main editor, I wouldn't really he surprised if he does just have a library of marks many screams XD
what
"keanuiplier" LMAOOOO
Lixian also didn’t edit this
"Getting back into the swing of things", Mark? Does that mean you're finally going to get back to doing 3 Scary Games again?
11:50 the Light flickering behind you at that time is quite scary at that point 💀💀
Fr😢
I was literally about to say that😮😮😮
I'm gonna pretend this video is not there when I finish it so I can enjoy it again
this is meant to be a parallel take on the short horror film called ‘ignore it’ or something like that where they all sit at the table and they are terrorised by something its pretty sick
Not exactly Peanut shaped, but it has a very SCP-173 reminiscent texture to it. Yet it exacts the opposite way. Maybe a progenitor anomaly?
-Dr. Sherman🖊️
Oh hi sherman.
Shy Guy, hello? Much more similar.
@@KamitsukiLucielaI don’t know much about SCP, but doesn’t shy guy go out of its way to not be looked at? This monster seems much more deliberate in its attempt to attack people.
Stop using company computers to watch UA-cam videos. I get it's funny seeing certain SCPs react to Markiplier, but I'm the one getting chewed out when management comes knocking.
-Dr. Nerd
@@marcelloreeves7216 It does not, it just sits there and cries.
This is the earliest I’ve ever been to a Mark video
I know the game likely isn't meant to be deep but it definitely could be a representation of mental health struggles. Just ignoring it will only work for so long until something traumatic happens and it all catches up with you.
7:46 the way he took more time thinking about 9x7 than the other problems 😭
markiplier uploaded, today will be a good day
guys fix your sleep schedules
hey a lot of you guys have had bad days i hope you're alright ♥️
mindustry fans, unite
Word
That's right
Wise words
But it's 2.15 am for me and i gotta sleep but i don't wanna watch that tmr :)
Woo
feels so personal to watch this remembering i used to be so scared of being home alone trying not to look down the hallway for too long.
I’ve lost track of the amount of times mark has tried to pull the “there’s something standing right behind you” trick on us
To withhold this from me for twenty seven seconds is criminal.
It was 6 minutes for me and im salty about it (get it? cause my username?)
UA-cam made me think for 27 mins that mark hasn't uploaded. And I'm very angry about it
7:22 The part that scares me the most, maths homework
1:19
“Can you see me-“
“No..”
“oh my bad dude! Have a good day!”
This reminds me a lot of this short film on UA-cam called “Ignore It”
I just watched that yesterday and then this video drops. It's perfect!
Dear Mark
Hi I'm a 16 year old male and I'm here to say thank you for everything you have done for me and your subscribers you always seem to make us laugh in our hardest of times especially me your channel is my safe place for whenever I feel depressed lonely or scared I can come here in my times of need knowing that you can make me smile I really appreciate everything you've done as a UA-camr and love your content a lot so once again thank you for making me smile where I needed to thank you for making the world smile whenever it needed to
Sincerely Jason
Ps don't respond to this comment I'm here to say thank you not have recognition and I hope everything is okay in LA
10:05 why pizza is so crunchy 🗿🗿
What if I’m the monster?
What if I’m in the wrong?
What if I’m the problem that’s been hiding all along? 12:20
What if I'm the one that killed you every time I caved to guilt?
What if I've been far too kind to foes, but a monster to ourselves?
What if I'm The Monster?
@jaygei_2641 THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF PERSUASION-
is a cyclops struck with guilt when he kills, is he up in the middle of the night?
or does he end my men to avenge his friend, and then sleep knowing he has done right?
When the witch turns men to pigs to protect her nymphs is she going insane?
Or did she learn to be colder when she got older and now she saves them the pain?
Epic reference
8:05 confirmed Mark is good at math.
It's like when you see something out of the corner of your eye, but you're too scared to look and see if it's real
It's great to have you back Mark. Give Amy, Chica and Henry our greatest joys you guys are okay
13:07 I didn’t realize how much missed his outro until I heard it again.
A new markiplier video a day keeps the depression away🥹
agree
Why doesn't it work for me?
@@Normo-p1eheyyyyyyyy it be ok soon dw just keep up the good work☺️
@@dr_peper6 good work isn't enough nowadays, but thanks anyway
which does not exist
6:39 "hmmm.. nice Roof”
I was wondering why the music around 5:27 sounded so familiar and I just realized it is the cave ambiance music from Elden Ring.
4:09 Pov: Your friend sees you opening snacks of chips
Hey Mark, git into a car crash today leaving school, just wanted to say watching this after being hit by a truck and still going into work. This video definitely helped cool some nerves
i hope you’re okay!! i’m sorry you still had to go into work 😢❤
hey so that's genuinely terrible and im glad you're okay, but how tf was this the video that calmed some nerves lolol
I'm glad you're okay
@@night441 Damn that's terrible. I hope your doing alright.
Mark's haunted lamp going off at just the right moment there at the end....scariest thing that happened
4:00 this kind of pov is always the worst
The fact that Markiplire has stayed relevant for so many years shows how great of a UA-camr he is.
11:40 stand user
Fr
Ah yes micro-waves in my eyes 9:27
I feel so bad for that kid and his dear sweet mother. She never did anything wrong but got killed for it. And that causing the kid to die is just so sad.
"pretend its not there" like i do with my depression 😊
10:00 fears to fathom flashback
Where’s the video? There’s nothing there
D:
Lixian's jump scares are getting crazy levels of terrifying 0:21
10:48 right as it said someone knocked my dog barked 😭
Same here german sheperd
0:18 its 3am. don’t.
HAHAHA 😂
But didn't you see bob? He is a chill dude
@@blastedsolid4020 very. 😇
@@BeautifulFirePrincess Just don't talk about FNAF lore with him or else he will get angy and steal your soul
He's watching
I turned around, and the monster was right behind me. But when I turned around, it was gone
🎵microwave🎵 - Markiplier 3:32
This reminds me of an anime where this is basically the same premise where the main girl has to pretend to not see the ghosts in her day to day
Mieruko-chan, yeah.
2:48 so I'm playing sims while watching this, and my sim was on the toilet, and right as I hit the key to pan over to him, I hear this grunt. I'm like how often do sims grunt this loudly on the toilet? but it was Mark.
7:24
Mark "I could have been an engineer" Fischbach doing basic math (sneakily) on the calculator of his phone, y'all. Genius! 😂
Bro he was def just looking at his keyboard 😭😭
@soup4720
Uh-huh...staring at them keys SUPER hard. 🤣
2:37 I really thought that lixian would have put in a jump scare right there
Lixian didn’t edit the video
this game reminds me of nught terrors with sleep paralysis... i think if i just pretend to be asleep, if i dont move, it will pass on, this gane... reminds me of it, terrifying
bruh that edit monster thing in the intro blended so well with the background. I only saw it when a glint flash in its eye
It blended into the background because it's real lol (until it gets edited to bite his finger ofc) I think it's a fish skeleton thing on his shelf, might have something to do with Iron Lung.
You know you gotta appreciate people like good people like mark who’s content is as good as he is
What
Bro just chills around you like he’s Ryuk from Death Note.
it’s so there
No it's not...
Me when I lie
“I don’t see you.” he says as he proceeds to walk towards the monster
0:08 I SEE IT ITS THE IRON LUNG RELESE DATE ITS-* gunshot *
9:20
I really like this shot.
The only guy who spoke against honey
How the close up to Mark's cam face while he's doing the math homework is more omnious terror than a giant weird monster hangin' around...
MAAAAAAARK!! IM SO GLAD HES OKAY!
He was just having a day off and making his iron lung movie
@@chokicheung5609 They're probably saying that 'cause they're worried about the LA fires (to be honest, who isn't?)
