Reuben how do you like the boots!? I’ve been a sneaker guy on the floor for a lot of years and just recently switched to a very similair boot to what you’ve been wearing. I love them.
I do too, these are Carhartt boots. They are really flexible and fairly lightweight. Because of the thicker soul in the back, it actually makes my back feel better. All the way around. I love them.

if u dont have that square on your scrap piece u can use one of the other squares as long as they're the same size

my two cents worth
why not cut the new tile in before you took the old one away then you would be working on a flat surface and not have the new peice dipping into the space you made put more tape over cuts you have made as you go n i would have kept my straight edge sitting on the inside of the tile so it would keep it still
