Task force to tangle with Invasive Species

Regarding the growing concerns about invasive mussels potentially arriving in our province, Alberta has initiated the formation of the first Aquatic Invasive Species Task Force. The purpose of this task force is to find ways to enhance inspection, detection, and education in order to prevent these harmful species from establishing themselves here. This decision follows the province's action to increase the number of inspection stations, hire additional inspectors, and advocate for increased federal measures to prevent invasive species at the border. I had a conversation with Megan Evans, the Executive Director of the Alberta Invasive Species Council, who is now a member of the task force.
