Hearing the sound of that RTS man the memories that bus still sounds powerful as hell i remember riding 0309 plenty of times in revenue service that was one of the better RTS buses in the MBTA fleet easily
What a waste and missed opportunity for a 'once in a lifetime' video. Who wants to see the stores and passing buildings out of the side windows on the dual-mode? Somebody should have chased the coach behind it in a vehicle. I don't want to see the passing scenery, that will always be there. Duh !! And why weren't the trolley poles of the dual-mode put up on the wires at every possible opportunity? I see an awful lot of video with the dual mode running with the poles down. Any bus could do that. How sad. Why did they bother bringing the dual-mode if not to run it on the wires? Who organized this trip? And by the way, don't the Neoplan trackless trolleys have 'off-wire' capability? Why did the coach have to be pushed by a truck? How many Neoplan trackless trolleys does the MBTA own? What year were they built? How old are they? If they don't have 'off-wire' capability, it's hard to believe the MBTA ordered them that way.
The DMA had its wires up quite frequently on the trip, but it kept dewiring so they had to lower the poles often. One reason why I recorded the scenery is because it’s rare to see the scenery while riding an RTS or Dual Mode, since RTSs haven’t operated on the 71/73 for 5+ years and Dual Modes haven’t operated on the 71/73 since they were new and they tested the wires. The T owns 28 2004 AN440LF ETBs and they can only go off wire for a very short period of time, so that’s why it had to be pushed.

the AN440LF ETB to the AN460LF Dual mode silver line: "Hey, those are my wires!"
Hopefully a museum can preserve these buses
Nice video
Thanks!
How Often do you operate this? I'm From Chicago and I want to come visit and ride it.
Sad to see them all go.

It’s literally a bus
The T should put it’s only RTS into service at South Hampton garage.
