Hope you guys enjoyed the show! I'll be releasing the swingiest most ridiculous $5/$5/$10 session you've EVER seen this Friday! Subscribe so you don't miss out
I love your heart Gary! Thanks for the awesome breakdown as well! Unfortunate outcome that you know how to handle from a mental standpoint! When you are winning in that regards then you can have 100% confidence that sessions in the future will break your way!!
Great first session. Best feeling in poker to turn around a losing session. No comment on 2nd session 😂. Loving your content. I’m late for work for watching this one 😮
Love the blurred opponent cards when you're on a stream, and I wish the Marianos of the world would do it more often. I try to think about the game as I'm watching, and when you see the cards, all you think is "How does anybody ever lose at this game? It's so easy."
Wild action streams! The stand up game makes pre-flop poker bigger and wider. Players make crazy hands and insane call downs. If only only to be on the right side of it. Tough second session.
Not super experienced in standup but my intuition in the QJcc preflop spot is it will play a lot like a btn vs sb 20-30bb tournament spot with no ICM. You want to play shoves with some offsuit Ax, pairs, suited broadways (specifically ones like JTs & QJs that can fold out some dominating hands like KJo and KQo) and flat with the middling portion of your range that can see a flop but would be way too light to get in. You could probably trap top of range too if you think people behind you will squeeze or the preflop aggressor will blast in to you. Would be curious to know the "answer" here.
I think you may well be right to be honest! Very unusual spot for me and I felt like maybe just treating it like that MTT spot and shoving more pairs/Ax stuff was the play. This was super close/right on the line for me
Hi Gary, on the AK hand vs the limper, as this is the last hand of the stand up game, would it not make sense to go all in pre-flop? There is 125 in the pot + 1K bonus form the stand up game and you have 8.5K Trapped by AA or KK is by far the worst case scenario, but you're likely to get a lot of money in the pot pre against them anyway (you raise, they check raise etc.) L might think you're pushing and call with AQ, AJ which is awesome? You have a coinflip vs an underpair, but have a ton of fold equity.
24:40 maybe you can value bet thinner in the stand up game in this kind of spot on the river but idk I feel like the first half of the video is passive so far but you’re the pro n I’ve seen your modules on upswing so I’m sure you have your reasons
19:39 in the standup game probably not cause he will call you off light but maybe the overbet he will just fold a hand hopefully like A6 off. I think its better to maybe 3bet just to maybe check some flops in pos to see another one.
Gazzy, this is not a needle - a genuine question: did you feel like you were getting outplayed throughout the 2 days given unusual dynamics of the stand-up game? or was it run bad?
I didn’t feel outplayed to be honest. I think it was a combination of not running great and a few misplayed hands. I appreciate your comment and the way you asked it, and I’m happy for you to break down why you think I’m wrong and got outplayed if you so desire 😂❤
I totally agree, it’s really important to acknowledge when you’re tilting and either quit the game or take a break. If I ever tilt at the tables, I’ll be sure to include it 😊
26:20 Holy shit Gazzy. That hero call with J high must’ve had you sick in the moment 🤮 Wonder if he even folds to any bet size there lmao Very good video as always
Gazzy I would prefer if the graph on takes into account your buy in. So if you only lose/win 20% of your own money in these games, the graph should look like that. Just a recommendation, keep smashing it boy
According to solvers, the hand at 19:16 is a call 100% of the time when facing a raise from the button, you checking was the right move then your opponent should check 60% of the time and mix in some bets at around 1.8-2 bb at a 20% frequency. His bet size of 2/3rd pot should be a rare move with that hand at about 8%. I think you lost the minimum really.
imagine u losin 13k hitting 3 outs river in 10k pot. This live poker is pain. And first session just lucky 4 and A turn for +10k hand, if this hand not happen and if we not hit 8 river we -24k in 2 days lol
Yea, he plays scared money every hand against super aggro players. He plays like I did 30 years ago when playing 2-5NL against recreational spewers in Vegas.
Not true, he actually didn't change his game plan in any point independent of the size of the pot, just a rough night, but I didn't feel like scared money.
@@daniel_cunhaexactly, I was rifling in money all night! People can say I played bad or call me a whale and that’s just fine, but a nit/scared money???? Cmonnn 😂❤
I don’t like when you say I could have better hand here or put emphasis on blockers. You’ll do better if you just play every hand in a vacuum and only worry about opponent’s range.
man you should definitely stop playing games with stand up games...this whole episode was about you just complaining for half an hour about stand up games. Always being one of the last to be standing shows how nitty and tight u were playing.
Not sure what you’re talking about. I followed through multiple times in this video in what I felt were correct spots. I also gave up some times as well, in what I felt to be correct spots. You can’t just blast off every single hand every time you miss. You need to take into consideration fold equity, your blockers, how your opponent’s range looks, all that kinda stuff. You know who just blasts off every time without thinking about it? Amateurs. 😘
The fact that you purposely sat as the short stack at such a loose aggressive table against punters tells me you are playing scared money and should move down in stakes.
It is far higher EV (EV = expected value, google it for an explanation of what it means) to allow yourself to temporarily become short stacked during the stand up game. It allows you to be more aggressive with your stack and win a pot quicker to save yourself from the stand up game. I really don’t mean to sound condescending when I say this, but the fact you didn’t know that is probably why you’ll never play a game as big as this this. It’s really quite basic.
What nit do you know that pot bluffs on the river with 9 high? Comments like these are spineless, just trying to be negative and bring someone down. Pathetic
