Sauce Gardner Potentially Following The Number 1 Wide Receiver? | New York Jets | Robert Saleh

I don't want him following the #1, I want him COVERING the #1
Definitely needs to happen
In My opinion, I’ll keep it as is, I would not allow
Sauce Gardener to shadow opposing teams top receiver’s options mainly because it would make it that more difficult to disguise our defensive concepts, while allowing quarterbacks a better chance of determine whether our defense is in Man vs Zone coverage.
Good quarterbacks always know if it’s man or zone anyways.
I read this wrong. I thought the title was stating " Sauce Gardner started following the #1WR on X". As if they were hinting a trade ☠️
I think it would make sense situationally. The Dallas game last year was an example of a game in which we DEFINITELY could have benefited from at least trying it.
He has everything, the one thing that worries me that I don’t see many talk about is his lack of top end speed. He ain’t gotta be the fastest, but dude has got to get faster to be able to run down the field wit these dudes other than that i still think he can be on the #1
He is plenty fast
I totally agree!
Although it’s not a bad idea and Sauce is more than capable of delivering, I don’t exactly feel like it’s necessary. Our defense is a powerhouse as it is, I say we just keep doing what we’re doing on D and finally allow a competent QB to excel.
I like the idea of him guarding the number 1 gives him a chance to make more plays and get more picks but also a little nervous because he can be beat over the top a couple times but still a top 2 corner in football rn
Imo Sherman is not Revis level, and Sauce I feel wants to be in that tier so he should follow the top guy every week and assert his dominance
It's tough.
Sauce I believe is good enough to shadow a #1. But also, DJ is good enough to cover the #1. I don't really know if there's a right answer. I think both are viable options honestly.
Sauce shadow, or keep the same gameplan. I think both are fine.
I believe if sauce starts following the #1 I think dj is gone after this year they want to see what it looks like either just sauce covering the best
Sauce asked for this because in contract negotiations the team will tell him “you are a zone corner. You can’t cover 1 v 1”
He is arguably the best player on the Jets.
Best cb in the nfl, so why not?
This should have been happening
NEVER TIP YOUR GAME PLAN🏉💰🏈
Put Sauce on The Best Receiver whether it’s their WR1 or TE. We all believe he’s a shutdown corner including himself. Let’s put him to the test !
Sauce Holdner.
If he is our best corner out there, he should be on the opponent's number 1. This coaching staff always puts system over talent and it is a fault.
I mean this coaching staff is just blessed to have DJ as a corner, it’s not really system over talent when you can keep either or on the number 1 WR, if it’s not broken, why fix it?
I can't subscribe to your page without paying ??
Revis lined up against every number one receiver the opposing team has and sauce will do what revis did shut them down
He probably should've been doing that all of last year ! Just shows how incompetent that coaching staff was last year !
I don't think it's debatable he is the #1 in the league, and he should of been on the #1 wr on day 1 as a rookie , what took so long
"We don't do that here" - Robert Saleh last season.
Let's be honest. We all love Sauce. Sauce is a total dog.
However, to be The Man, you have you beat the man.
Sauce can do it. Will Saleh let him? Who knows? ✈️
The idea of allowing the opposing Offense decide who They want their top WR to go against is a terrible plan. You tell them hey Justin Jefferson is going to have a very hard day trying to contribute with Sauce on him, and make them adjust and change their plans. Allowing their best guy to beat you, and you allow it because you don’t want your DBs to have to simply communicate and switch? That’s terrible football and terrible coaching. You dictate to the offense, I’m taking this away, now how are you gonna beat us?
God any time I see last season's uniforms I throw up in my mouth a little 🤢
What’s wrong with you Jets fan?
