That is the best upload I have seen. Just what we want, the sound! The popping and banging and the backfiring pricked your ears. I went to the rally that year and remember seeing the McRae burnouts. Memories.

Group A cars had the right mix of; great sound, speed & likeness to cars you could buy from the showroom. They were something to see!
How many road going Evo's and WRX's looked and sounded just like these things.
Current WRC cars just not as interesting for me!

I agree that the current WRC cars dont interest me either. I loved group B though, but even more I loved the Group 4 Escorts. "Black Beauty" was insane when you look at the spec. Formula 2 engine in a MK2 Escort. Rediculous! I loved the Group A cars too, not as much. Its a shame the Escort in the 90s wasn't very good.

Couldn't agree with you more. I followed the group a and early wrc cars because they interested me. You could relate to the models of cars because you saw the same models on the roads. Current wrc doesn't really appeal to me. More like racing cars. The spirit has gone.

Sure was a cool rally, very spectacular, remeber Eriksson and Schwartz drove the ring off those mitzys, but couldnt keep in touch, Juha was the "Man" to watch and Mcrae nailed them in Motu. Thanks for the memories.
