Probably the first video I ever watched N number of times and never get bored. The mirdangam part, to be specific.
In the midst of greatness (Sankaran), spare a thought for Suresh on Ghatam! Spellbound. Mind blown. Great artistes.

T. Sanakaran, master of masters...it would be both inspiring and intimidating to sit with him but the Ghatam player gives a great run!
Terrific performance and a very energetic and tasteful audience, sounds like everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
The beauty of these two stalwarts is the way they make the whole art of playing their percussion instruments feel like a breeze, despite the intricacies and the relentless hours of rigourous practice and perfection they bring to the concert stage.
The clarity of each 'nadai' and 'sollu' is amazing, mind-blowing.

Quick question from a general listener not a connoisseur..... How does the Ghatam artist remember every beat played by the Mridangam artist? Will anyone know if the Ghatam artist missed a beat??
The ghatam artist doesn’t necessarily play everything that the mridangist is playing, but sometimes we see that some of the key themes/phrases that the mridangist plays is reflected in the ghatam artist’s playing and they can use those themes as an anchor for their improvisation during their turns. My apologies if I have misstated anything.
