      Likewise! I just started using a cleansing shampoo for the 1st round followed with a hydrating shampoo with a Green Tea rinse. I just a]stated doing this because my hair grown quite a bit and I just feel that I was getting all the product off of it with one shampoo applied only to my scalp. My hair has really responded well to simply being CLEAN. Glad to see someone else doing the same thing!! 🎉

    I shampoo my hair twice a week and I have done for years. I don't struggle to grow my hair and that works for me. Learn your hair, don't just follow trends.

      What type of shampoo do you use, is it with sulfates or sulfate-free?

    • @justjenny581
      @justjenny581 4 місяці тому

      @@Sunshine_Hime I use herbal essence or dove or Aussie moisture. All have sulfates.

    Disclaimer: What maybe good for the goose may not be good for the gander. Genetics come into play, companies, brands, and influencers preying on us to fill their pockets, etc., etc., I think the best route, although it will be trial and error is to go through that trial and error. Learning to 'listen to' and feel whats best for your hair. Hair like black or black mixed people isn't a monolith so what may work for one may not be the same for another. I say all this to say that I've experimented with what worked for my hair in the last 17 years and realized, although mixed race, although type 3c/4a, my routine is unique and it works and it doesn't follow his, her, them, they guidelines. You pick up a tips and tricks from those around you (grateful by the way) and figure out what works and what doesn't.

    Good tips, clean hair really is important! I'm curious, what do you do with your hair for the couple days it's in braids before you take them down?

    • @AbbieCurls
      @AbbieCurls  4 місяці тому +1

      If I need to leave the house whilst my braid out braids are drying I either just put them in a low bun or I wear a head wrap to cover them x

    Hi Abbie, you covered everything for me 😂 I also use shampoo because my belief is just letting it roll down my hair isn't going to do anything. It needs a good scrub with loving fingertips 😂 I wash my hair once a week and use whatever suits me preferably something that smells nice. I haven't got time to read what in it! If it cleans and has my hair smelling good and doesn't dry it then that's the one for me! One question I do have though and that is....are hair masks good, what's your opinion?! I do use them, once a week and it does make my hair feel nice and moisturized BUT are they goood 😂😂 oh, and the gel I said I've got but haven't really used is the Eco Gel in the pink tub!!!! Sorry for the late response as you said you'd like to know 😂 ❤

      definitely needs a good loving scrub to get a good clean! haha.
      In answer to your question, hair masks and deep conditioners are good but I don't think we need to be using them every week. They are treatments and are formulated to treat specific problems. I have a UA-cam video speaking more about why I stopped deep conditioning so often. Have a little scroll back to find it. I think you may find it helpful xx

    I actually used to shampoo every wash day when my hair was long, but now that is short (just got a tapered pixie cut) I’ve been cowashing more. I think you need to find a good cowash though. I use the curlsmith one and it actually leaves my hair squeaky clean, so it does depend on the one you choose.

      interesting! Yeah, I can imagine the hair care routine for a short cut must be very different to grown out hair. thanks for sharing
