    Are they using iaito or shinken during the first part?

      I don't know if they are iaito, but they are certainly not sharp swords.

      Probably Kata-to(Literally swords for kata). Some schools(Hokushin Ito Ryu and Yagyu Shinkage Ryu) perform kata with Shinken though

    It should written as Hyoho Taisha Ryu btw. Hyoho meaning "martial principles"

      Without knowing the context, the viewers will never able to understand fully what's going on. It's like seeing 2 wrestlers doing pummel drill and said there's no technique, just 2 guys sniffing each other armpits
