I do not understand how his lyricism & songwriting is not more widely appreciated. The majority of this album especially. Saw him live at The Murat and it was a really excellent show. This was about a year and a half ago.
I've met Elvis Costello in Whole Foods in West Vancouver in the vegetable isle. He does the music he wants to and has a "if you build it they will come" attitude. He's a really nice guy to chat to for a few minutes.
@@spinningreelsofrhyme The conversation started with me saying "Merry Christmas Mr. Costello", and bowing slightly... Then he opened up. You get the idea.
This has always been one of my favorite song by Costello. I love this arrangement of the song with the traditional Irish musicians. He sounds great with uillean pipes.
this song recounts elvis' time growing up around Liverpool and, specifically, the Wirrall 'in chocolate town all the trains are painted brown' a big up for Cadburys in Moreton!!!
always was one of favourite EC tracks and i know of the area he's talking about as well GRET SONG THE PIPES ADD THAT SPECIAL FLAIR TO IT AS WELL ! CHEERS!
This song is not only totally bitchen . . . . but I think it is good luck . . . . I have won about $600 playing online poker in the past 45 minutes . . . . Thanks Elvis!
This is so cool. Firs it's a great song. But the way they evolve it into a reel at the end just gives it a timelessness as well. Elvis Is King.

Can definitely hear him channeling the energy of the Pogues here.
Brilliant tune
i lived right by the factory and worked there for a bit
Talking about Cadbury’s Factory in Moreton on the Wirral no longer there 😢
I keep telling everyone that he is our greatest living musical genius. He could fart and it would be profound....
I do love him but no one seriously listen to my opinion.♥♥♥
Elvis, your mic is off!
Has anyone else noticed that this song is very similar to Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner by Warren Zevon?
Looks like Donal Lunny on bouzouki

jubjub2112 I want a Cadbury Caramello Bar!
No need for the shitey Irish pipes, but thank you very much none the less.
(Not your fault)
