I am begging for a week of workouts including a look at your running journey! You're such inspo, sometimes seeing a post of yours is the only reason I get to the gym. I'm truly not a gym girlie, but seeing how strong you are (in every way) makes me want to be so bad !! Keep being cool 🤠
This has literally happened to me as well and it's very inspiring to see I'm not alone. Because of work and personal reasons I haven't been able to go to the gym as often and I had to switch to a more conditioning and even simpler workouts, still hard to convince myself that a workout without heavy lifting is good enough but at the end of the day I always remind myself that the main point is showing up
TOTALLY! I used to have a lot more time to spare and my workouts were much more heavy-lifting focused. Nowadays it's just not feasible for most days, so adjusting my program has been a game changer. It also brings the spark back, which is exciting.
Thanks for sharing! It resonates a lot with me. I have been playing field hockey intensively for 14 years 3-4 times a week. Appreciation of others about my skills and discipline were strengthening my identity. After I quit it was challenging to enjoy the process of being a beginner in a new sport without that validation of others. I like to try something new every few years (surfing, windsurfing, boxing, lifting, animal flow, climbing, bouldering) but that goes hand in hand with being a newbie, feelings of insecurity and anxiousness. It is nice to hear you are exploring yourself through different forms of movement. Besides, it is comforting you both enjoy and sometimes fear this newness too. Thank you for sharing! (Edit: typo)
Hi Sydney, I found you just a few months ago and I really love your content in your videos, but I wanted to add a critique to please not put this intense violin music over speaking to camera sections of the video because it really distracts from your message. If maybe you try out a different music or style of editing music into your videos, it would be better.
As long as you enjoy the process thats all that matters. Thats why its hard for people to get into the gym bc people dont enjoy it then they stop. Doing things you enjoy helps with consistency and progress!! Love your videos and ill continue to watch you grow!!
Missed you, gurl! Your story sounds so very simular to mine. When you were traveling and had time out through other reasons, I just was not motivated for life. I got back in to the gym on a regular basis last year and I'm in love with it again. I have also changed up my training style, I do all kinds now rather than strictly power! Also signed up for a half marathon as a massive challenge (I don't enjoy running but I'm sure I will soon) Well done baby girl, we got this!!
Loved to hear this as I’m on a similar road where I’ve fallen in love with running but have switched how I train in the gym. I will say 10km is really far for a beginner so don’t knock that achievement just because you think you should be running bigger distances. ❤
I love that you’re stepping into new things that are fulfilling you more! And I would love to see a video about running, I want to get into it but it’s scary on the outside 😅
Hey, I use to be into powerlifting for a year, I realised I wasn’t doing it for myself and constantly feeling not good enough. I realised, if i don’t feel good, i need to change into a new technique with the gym. I now work out how I want to work out. Happiness is key with the gym. If you’re not happy with your squatting deadlifting and benching, try something new. Now im back to running and still doing weight. Congrats girl on making yourself happy!!
I love your new view of training and split. I also want to switch to a bit cardio. So I have currently a mix of power lifting and functional exercise like pull ups and dips. And I also motivated my powerlifting crew to do functional exercise. And they really loved it and we have so much fun.
Please do a video on your running journey and how you got into running! Also any tips for beginner runners. I want to start running this year but feel so lost and unsure of how to start
I love this realization for you! You need that *spark* to be consistency. Sometimes what excites you changes and that's terrific! It's for joy AND health ❤ in the summer I love trail running so I do 50km and 50mi races. In the winter I HATE running in the cold! So my "spark" is found in weight lifting right now and that's great!! Who knows, maybe ultra running will take center stage again in the summer but right now that's not my spark and that's great! It's more about the long term goal of health and Joy ❤🎉
With college i had to quit muay thai and turned in going to the gym but now i barely have time for that as well so if i find a gap i train at home or just go for a bit at the gym and yes cardio is very important so i think smh I'm still doing good work. Proud of you as well Syd mental health is very important and you showing that you enjoy what you're doing that's what matters
🤠 your positive attitude towards being a beginner is so inspiring. I feel like that can be such a hard to thing to get past when confronting change and personal growth❤
