I thought I would pass this on regarding your 1988A note at 7:00; I inherited approx 275 1988A notes from a family member. All of them are, at minimum, Choice Uncirculated 63. Of those, about 23 are similar to yours with the "light gray" second printing. Although not common, they are not rare either as about 8% of mine have that feature (in the A, B, E, and G Districts). Due to that I don't think it would be worth having yours graded. I wouldn't expect to get a premium for mine were I to sell them.
Thanks for all of that information on your bills! Great knowing you have uncirculated specimens to inspect in order to really get a sense of what came off the presses. At least that helps to hone in on my speculations of this being an inking issue.
Definitely a note to look into (faded). 💰
What www. ? Are you using to check the star notes?
I found one that looks similar to the insufficient inkling, but on both sides. That was my first thought, too, bc the 3rd printing seems perfect?
