I have been doing marine for about 8 years i probably go with soft corals to start with their is some really nice soft corals out there and it probably would help people if they are on the side line of going into marine and you probably just get away with doing water change's. Great video
I have the same tank had it a couple of years tore it down a while back so i could concentrate on my other tanks but i am thinking of setting it back up you can grow soft corals with the stock light but i changed the mine to a fluval 3.0 nano gives more control . i also added a jebao sw-2 wavemaker and upgraded the pump .. i kept green star polyps . Kenya tree . Pipe organ coral . Cabbage and mushrooms .. good luck with the tank
Nice to see you do a marine tank. The possibilities are endless on what you can do with one. About 30 years ago I had a 75 gallon marine tank. It was quite expensive way back then. I probably spent over $5000 for the setup, fish and live rock. I had an under gravel filtration system, a skimmer and pumps to simulate wave action. I did find a large tank, once properly set up was easier to maintain and I didn't have any major water or temperature fluctuations either. I think with your smaller tank, you are wise to keep it simple. I love a marine tank but not the expense of one. I hope you do well with yours and am waiting to see your progress with it.
@Mountain_Aquatics I have, my favorite are cichlids. Their freshwater and their absolutely gorgeous, as they come in many colors. My favorite are the electric blue ones.
@Mountain_Aquatics sweet, their gorgeous as well. I always had a hard time choosing as there so many beautiful ones. And they love rocks, build little caves for them to breed. I use to have lava rock in my tank they loved it. Mine did well, and it was so awesome how mama's hold the babies in their mouth😍
@@Mountain_Aquatics I did! And as you know I know nothing about keeping fish but I am learning from you and your channel. So when you asked for suggestions all I could think of was a plastic diver for the tank 😂! Looking forward to your next video xxx
Well, the cycle has been going a few weeks sun nothing has happened at all. Not even an algae. The light stopped working after the first week so I’m sending that back. Luckily they have agreed to replace it!
Nice man, a good introduction into a reef tank and def makes me want to get one!!!
You should! Well worth the price and made me take the plunge in to keeping marine fish!

I’m definitely adding a Kenya tree
Good luck with this. Try some palys, feather dusters and toadstool corals. Easy to keep and lovely to look at.
Thanks for the tip!I looked at some toadstool earlier and quite like them

Yea I do worry about the water quality t in a small tank. I think the filtration will have to be upgraded
@@Mountain_Aquatics I agree that filtration is so important.
I love fish tanks, their so peaceful to watch❤❤I know you will enjoy
Yes it will be great to have a new challenge, I’m looking forward to it! Have you kept marine before?

@DeeDee-hz6wf ye do have thought about a Malawi cichlid tank before. Had the look of a marine tank without the hassle
Yellow labs are my favourite
