It's a shock to no one who saw that mugshot. The kid who said, "She just seemed like an ordinary person, like regular..." sums up how freaks in general have been normalized to children. No, just no. Pull your kids out of public school ASAP.

Kids and teens really have no idea what's normal and what's not... My grandmother worked in the VA's psychiatric ward so I heard stories growing up, wondering which among us teenagers would end up that way... But I realized that at such a young age, and even being told about the crazies, that I had no way of being able to tell how screwed up someone's life was just by looking at them, and there were plenty of people that I had encountered growing up where I'd ask my friends, "was that a man or a woman?" do you really think we suspected that they had mental issues or that they were possibly sociopathic? Kids need to be protected from people like this, so if blame is going to be spread, then why not blame the employer for thinking this dude was a good choice for a crossing guard?
