Great build and beautiful motor but M5 killer, it definitely is not.
You need a bit more then 480bhp for the m5, but i agree the B58 is an M Killer.
I followed this blueprint for my 540i starting 3 months ago. I skipped the charge pipe and left that stock. For intake I went with FTP. Just finished it off with the Remus exhaust last week. The car is a complete animal compared to stock. Thanks for sharing this build.
Have you ever test driven the m340i? If so, what made you go with the 540i?
@@Ahmed-ny1xc I’ve driven a 330. The 5 series is on a completely higher level in terms of comfort and ride quality. It’s also more spacious as a family car.

@@kisermoore3238 The Remus is absolutely incredible. What’s so good about it is it’s not obnoxious when you don’t want it to be. If you chill, it’s still a comfortable family ride and still rather quiet inside the cabin on the highway. But when you want to have fun, it will come alive for you, especially at 4K and above.

I can see a lot of people here either underestimate the hell out of the B58 or don’t know much about them. I mean Toyota puts these in their Supra for a reason. Not like Toyota is going to throw some run of the mill 6 cylinder in them. These engines can handle a lot of power with stock internals!

G31 msport blue calipers Always cooked the brakes with hairy brake fade into corners... until I changed to drilled and grooved pads and Brembo discs. No problems with cracking, squealing, grinding or fading stopping from max to zero all day. insane speeds with full confidence.
Great upgrades and solid base for a project car.
Absolute beauty! Those BBS alloys 😍. Definitely a unique G30 for sure.

B58 is no joke
I have one of these and have been desperate to get a bit more noise out of the back of it. The g30 is so refined it’s too quiet in the cabin and mutes the B58. Remus sounds good on this one.
it needs a catback+downpipe for it to sound the way u would want it, i currently have a catback coming soon for my 540

An F90? I don't know about that. To be fair, i'm from the US and the F90's are still quite a bit more expensive unless you compare a new lci 540i to a used F90 with some miles on the clock. Maybe its different in the UK, seems like the prices are better over there all things considered.

@@saltygrapes-bt7rr Maybe nearly new, I see used ones for $60-70k with 4x-5xk miles, I see one for $57k with 33k miles, but its rebuilt so the value is a little different.
Nothing wrong with rebuilt if it was done properly.
But still, its more than a 540i
No chance, you can get these for 25-30K. M5 is currently 45+

M5 is a different animal. My g30 is tuned stage 2 but when I drive M5, it’s a completely different feel.

Disappointing you didn’t showcase more of the modifications on this car, concentrating on just the power and engine so much is boring. This car has so many exterior and interior modifications that would have been great to showcase and maybe asking the owner probing questions and getting him to show off his pride and joy more as opposed to just drone on about the b58 and the power
I agree. The video could've been cut short due to that reason. Dyno runs, quarter mile times, races, etc. could've done alot for this video if it was about showing us the power.
Not complaining as we got a good video anyway, just thinking of how it could've been improved.
This is a really good choice if you have a smaller budget. with some good mods you will be close to the M5

Have him look up the Remnant Omega 65 hybrid turbo kit. Full billet 62mm hybrid turbo kit that’s $300 more than a pure and will make so much more reliable power.

if your model doesnt come with the upgraded fuel pump, get that and you will definitely make over 500, The High Pressure Tu pump ofc

Do you mean WHP? BHP is horsepower measured at the engine before any driveline losses. If your on an All Wheel Drive dyno i assume your number is Wheel Horse Power.. 480BHP would only be about 400WHP at most.... Beautiful car though!!!!

18 plate ~33k miles m140i avg around £23k
18 plate ~33k miles 540i avg around £29k
imo at the moment for around 6-7k extra you're getting a lot more car and the 5's have been less ragged around than the 1's on the market as practically all 140's are driven by asbo's . However, there are a lot of stage2+ builds coming on the market now and I do think the 'already built' m140's are great value. some are really nicely specced, but then ofc you sacrifice reliability.
