I had to stop playing because of the spawning issue. It's ridiculous when after killing a group of bandits more spawn in the same spot when you turn your back. It really takes me out of the game.
Ahhhh but try respawning on THEM!!!! (Seriously, run in to a group, save it - then reload, good chance they just stand in place and pretend you are invisible)
@@chomskysfavefive NGL my take is the removal of A-life is because it brings so much hassle to the game. You have so many modders trying to fix it and the modders are dam good at what they do. You have devs at GSC trying to fix it also and I think they decided to just remove it and increase spawns to move away from A-life once and for all. Sad to say that but increased spawns and removing the A-life text for me just doesn't look right.
I killed military for an hour to clear out a base until I realized they just spawned endlessly. Still, had 1000 rounds right at the beginning of the game because of this.
@@TexanTemplar Headshots. Only takes one bullet for them to fall, sometimes two. Then you also unload their guns. Also switch weapons. For example use shotguns in close quarter combat. That saves you the AK ammo 5,45x39. Do that for an hour and you are good to go. I am a bit later in the game now and need to dump my ammo into the stash regularly to not get overencumbered.
@Orodreth888 Yeah I've also got the same problem. Was just wondering if you were getting more ammo somehow. I've been using the mp5 and pm for almost the whole game so far, so I do need to switch weapons. Prob have at least a thousand in 5.45 by now. Unfortunately, it's pretty hard for me to consistently hit headshots at 20fps lol. Thanks for the tips.
They developed it in a warzone, I think that Yes we absolutely should criticise it and also give it the reviews it has, but also to acknowledge that, well, yeah this is kind of expected and understandable
Charging $60 for an Xbox game that literally has movement and stick drift as a feature is diabolical. Just my opinion. Game can't even handle 60fps ffs.
Can we please knock this off? If someone knowingly sells a sub par product IRL then it is offered at a discount. This is sold at and also well above the industry full price for a game. The developers are not doing us a favour. It's a paid product, that they chose to charge full price for. It's not early access. It's not discounted. It's up to 120 euro for just a digital edition. This game has been in development on and off for 14 years. Stop excusing charging for a fundamentally broken product that may or may not eventually have the features they promised would comprise the core of the game.
@@BusesAreFatCarsnot only that but they moved out of Ukraine to continue development of the game. This excuse is so overused and hasn’t applied to them since they moved out of country
I climbed up a hunters tower in a swamp...as I did i looked out to see 2 species of creatures going to war (about 20 onscreen) then I heard gunfire to see 5 stalkers moved in to fight the horde of creatures....then i noticed stalkers being blown up by 3 soldiers that moved in with grenades...i spent 15min scavenging the battlefield in joy.
Had this same experience. Small building with a ladder and a stash. Big warthog packs fighting stalkers and I just chilled in the building watching everyone die. I go down and kill a couple hogs with my shotty and gobble up all the ammo loot lol.
Not sure if it's supposed to be like this but I'm having a hard time telling who is an enemy. Sometimes I'm supposed to be killing enemies but i can walk up and talk to to them.
What’s also annoying are voices being lot less defined and recognisable. They sound very similar. If I can identify by armour or visual indicators then I need to be able to identify via audio of who is who… I’ll probs replace the combat audio lines with my Ukr CoP files I have. Hopefully it’s easier done than said.
nah, i've invested about 12 hours into the game so far. It's playable, it's got some quirks for sure that break immersion, but it's worth playing, can always restart after the big patches come, which are envitible to come soon.
@@TheWizard1408 same I got about 12 hours in and I don't even wanna continue until they add A-life back I wouldn't even care if they ripped the old one and put it into this stalker
It feels weird walking 1km to a quest location with nothing but silence most of the time. No sqaud patrols,no roaming mutants, and no faction fights. It feels sterile.
literally did not have any issues with game other than crashes when chucking a grenade. i had a mutant follow me for miles until i got it to attack some soldiers. i think it is an amazing fucking game.
Agree. I’ve had zero big problems. Minor issues sure, but nothing serious or crazy. Game is amazing! Very fluid high fps. Some fps dips now and again but nothing I cannot easily live with. I hope they will patch it for people who are having issues so that they enjoy too can enjoy this incredible game.
Did you play the og games? Genuine question, not saying it in a asshole way The ai was def better in those games but this is still pretty good, just compared to the older games its a big downgrade
Glad some other people have had chill experiences, other than fps crashes now and again I haven’t even had a noticeable bug. Kinda crazy everyone’s got different experiences like this
@@Terminated_Account The bugs and glitches were def bigger in those og games. If they chose between fixing bugs or improving AI, I'm glad they made STALKER 2 less buggy than the originals. More AI can be added later.
I get that A-Life is bugged and it was a major proponent to the world of STALKER in the first game. But to say this doesn’t feel like a STALKER game is completely inflammatory. It definitely still feels like one.
not really i played every stalker game stalker 2 feels more like a run and gun play atmosphere is not there and no factions to join and the enemies spawn are so retarded feels like i am playing ps2 shooter
I actually very much agree with the post that said it's not a stalker game without A Life, literally feels like fallout right now where I just do missions and kill enemies that show up as soon as I get close, and all the dungeons end up with a path that leads you out just like in skyrim it's so weird.
Bugs can happen and get fixed, but the Xbox controller drifting (dead zone) probably really needs to get fixed asap.., and not only later, when they fix other bugs.. (its literally unplayable from the start / from the moment you need tp aim properly..)
even more annoying is the blurry screen because it gets upscaled from as lowest as 480p it’s a joke of a game in almost 2025. they should’ve never ported the game to unreal engine 5
I played for about 2 hours before deciding to call it quits. The game is awesome, but the performance is terrible, and the bugs are frustrating. I’ll wait until they iron things out so I can enjoy it properly without getting annoyed. I do give the devs some slack considering what they went through during development, but they also had the option not to release it in this state. So, in a way, people have the right to complain as well. EDIT: Also, in the future, I’m hoping for a better gore system to be implemented. It probably won’t happen officially, but maybe talented modders can create something to make the game more brutal and gritty.
Yeah it has to be punishing on anything less then a 3070, which even that card probably can't hit 60fps on 1440p even with med-high settings (not max). I have a 4090 and so can get 100fps at 4k with frame-gen. However IMO the performance MODS do help, there are like 5 or so of them now, some better then others, people should try them all separately.
stooop this excuse they moved their studio jesus christ. They are selling a product for full price on a free market. War or not is no excuse, I don't care.
@@gerarderloper Same here, but if you go to areas with lots of buildings, the frame rate can tank all the way down to the 50s, which is just nuts. Frame Generation is great, but I can feel the input lag, and for an FPS, that’s not ideal-especially with the already laggy aiming. Mods have helped improve it, but there’s still no way to get a completely smooth experience unless you’re willing to turn everything all the way down, lol.
Honestly on Series X it runs surprisingly well in performance mode. I was morbidly curious and tried it on there because my PC is bricked for the next couple months but honestly I’m gonna continue. My big complaint is the Stealth system. I should say lack of honestly. The enemy alert cones just seem to be so inconsistent. Once that gets ironed out I LITERALLY will have nothing but some nitpicks in my experience.
14 years at development and this is the official release? Did they tested it at all, before they start to sell it around? They even removed A-Life 2.0 feature from Steam store page.
Cyberpunk, as everyone knows, had a chaotic launch. I was really angry about the state of the game myself, but today it's one of my favorite games. I've already completed it several times, and I still enjoy it. Stalker is a franchise I love, and based on my experience with Cyberpunk, I will simply give the developers time to fix what needs fixing before I start playing it. From what I've seen in gameplay and reviews, the game is indeed a good Stalker game. Probably, those who said it isn't just played the GAMMA mod or something like that.
It’s worlds worlds better than cyberpunk at launch I’m not even exaggerating. There’s a severe theme of people being too harsh on it. Criticism isn’t, well it SEEMS broken so I won’t be playing it, and I’ll trash it. People who are playing like me love it
I am on the same boat except I was lucky and cyberpunk wasn't buggy for me. So it all came as a surprise to me when I saw the reviews on it. I think given the circumstance of stalker 2 they deserve a chance.
@@theillegitking1304 there's also way to many people acting like this game is a master piece, I'm liking the game but its def not a master piece. the games got to many issues rn
Nope, i played anomaly and skipped the trilogies... stalker 2 has great potential... mod community will help devs easily... small amount of time before this game is goated
The enemy AI issue has been so annoying. I was doing a side quest at the Old Mill, and was attacked back to back by waves of dogs. After defeating one pack, another would spawn in shortly after and track me down. They took all of my bullets, and then the AI switched it up by spawning bandits instead. I was forced to run all the way back to Zalissya.
@@Creepermag3 My advice (this is my first stalker game) I just run if I need to. The game is trying to kinda push you to not take every gun fight and run from mutants if need be
I can kill them easily enough(standing on a box defeats them), and I'm rolling in ammo and meds. The only bother is that the sound effect for dogs plays in my head rather than where they are, so hearing it everywhere i go is driving me a tiny bit insane.
No ALife 2.0 makes the game feel very synthetic. The old stalker ganes you would think a fight is done, but the lone surviver would be flanking you. Theyve replaced it with a random squad generator. They pop in, and start a combat scenario with local wildlife or bandits.
Bro even the dogs would run away wounded and crying in a bush out of sight if you did enough damage to them. 2007 dog AI is better than military AI in Stalker 2 2024. The fact the devs had the audacity to not only lie about A-Life being in the game (then removing it from Steam page after taking countless preorders, scummy af) but they actively boast about the AI being a challenge for 'even the most hard boiled players'. The game is a complete joke. The devs clearly thought they could ride on the sympathy manufactured by the media since 2022 and pull a Eurovision win based on sympathy and not an actual working game.
@@PrimeNPC You'll get untold amounts of hate for this but honestly I agree that there's kind of no excuse for just how bad the AI is in this game. No A-life and removing it from the steam page is one thing, but you'd at least think in place of it the AI would be somewhat smart I got hit from the side by 2 Ward soldiers down a road that more than likely were just spawned in and I ran behind a broken building, one of them proceeded to just lob grenades in my direction endlessly Clear Sky style while the other slowly walked behind a chain link fence but I could see the AI treated it as though it was solid cover, after I shot him he proceeded to turn away from me and run away in the open. I genuinely don't know what they were doing during the time they freely had to nail down some of the most crucial aspects of these games
@@andresbogado7133 the devs have confirmed ALife is in the game, and the files can be found in the game folder, but the settings are all wacker right now because of known issues. They tried to compensate for ALife being basically shut off, by increasing random spawns. It's synthetic feeling and fallout 4-y
@@LongDaysPleasantNights Hate from NPC's that can't think for themselves and are just repeating their manufactured hate slogans / buzz words .. it washes over me like a cool breeze lol. Many npcs can't accept they were duped or lied to in any way whatsoever! Mercenaries 1, 2005 PS2 game had better AI and faction system than Stalker 2. GSC should be embarassed and ashamed.
Most of all, I'm really disappointed that the lights like e.g. Flashlight, muzzle flash, campfire, etc. Do not cast shadows. That's really a joke for 2024. And makes Stalker 2 look quite flat as far as lighting / shadows are concerned. The old Stalker parts already had that. This takes the atmosphere to a completely different level. What a shame 😔🤦
muzzle flash and campfires wouldn't cast a shadow, because fire itself can't cash shadows (doesn't have a shadow) this is literally the most simple thing, at best it'd only cast shadows if there were objects around it
@@AGX25 what? I don´t follow... I did my bachelor thesis on lighting in CGI...20 years ago... and it was specifically about lighting with fires and torches and how to set it up in a 3D CGI programm... and I´m pretty sure I´ve seen it in games aswell... play ArmA3, blow up a vehicle and behold the shadows that fire casts...
@@AGX25 “it’d only cast shadows if there were objects around it” that’s what he’s talking about. If there’s a guy standing at a barrel fire or sitting at a campfire you should see his shadow being cast by the fire.
Discord showed a leak on the AI code, and it's basically Cyberpunk, spawning X distance away over X viewing angles. This "life 2.0" thing they had where NPCs interact and have their own lives etc is clearly, absolutely IN the game but not turned on.
Ye, I can see where they were coming from but at least they could've made the animations faster. They were trying to mimic Metro Exodus so hard, but failed to realize that Metro games have completely different tempo.
Enemy balancing is straight up maliciously stupid. Three ak mags to down a bloodsucker? Shotguns about as useful as a wet fart against even the most basic mutants? Really? Without the mod that lowers enemy hp by 50% the game is just an exercise in frustration. And its not even a "git gud" issue, its just straight up unfun.
I’ve had 4 things happen so far. 1 crashed in the middle of the tutorial 2 opened a box with my knife and the sausage went flying into the sky. Pretty hilarious actually. 3 die from a storm and immediately respawn with zero health just to die immediately again. Easy fix, just need to load a different save. But still dumb. 4 some lighting issue. The sun casting a shadow on a building was flickering hard.
6:08 This explains why get a few second freeze every single time when i approach NPCs, but never get performance issues with anything else. That was the culprit: Cutscenes with NPC and NPC
how the f did they think:" yea lets release it like that" after already delaying it. dont be okay with it even if ur a hardcore fan. its becoming unsettingly normal for games to be not done when they come out and actually f over the customer which is illegal cause the product is not working as advertised.
with the state of AAA games, i think it was a good move for them to be part of Xbox gamepass, allowing us gamers, to have access to games like this without hurting our pockets for a underdelivered product at launch , protecting the consumer, and giving the devs time to improve the game with patches, gatewalling a incomplete game with the expectation of full price tag is what makes it bearable.
Got a bug at the sawmill where i couldn't even do a missoon, juat teleports me inside the building and won't let me continue the game. Tried re loading and going back saves, but i just can't even progress anymore after 12 hours. It's a good thing i got it on gamepass and didn't waste my money
@captain_goon5436 Also. YT keeps running defense for you which is annoying. You made your own comment admitting issues, but here you’re saying the opposite. Boss how are you going to lie, run D, and act like nothing is the matter all on the same video? You disgust me.
So far I haven't had any complaints for the AI except for the lack of them. Seems like there are barely any stalkers moving around the zone except for bandits in small camps. Also went into a military base and there was at most 5 guys in the whole thing. I like that they tend not to push you until they think that you might have moved. One enemy pushed me after I'd stopped shooting for a while, pushed into the door and looked left not right and didn't see me at all in the dark corner and started searching the building. Love it.
One of my main issues was the npcs and abominations spawning on top of me after clearing a location of hostile enemies. Another one that I am currently having as I type this message is the npcs in Alissa after progress g through the main story at some point start asking for help against “spoiler for anyone not up to this part” enemies and after helping them and leaving, they just die after traveling at least 200+ meters. I’ve tested this a few times to no avail and it seems to be a bug.
Devs thought they could ride the sympathy train to 10/10 reviews. They saw how trash the Eurovision winners were and thought they could pull off the same
TLDR: My experiences with the game showed some of the mentioned bugs and a-life 2.0 “working” to a degree. Hope to see an improvement soon. I play on Xbox and hope to see the console version not be forgotten as well. For those of you who would like to read my full experience: I have put maybe 10 hours into the game. I’ve only had the spawning issue happen once noticeably. I went to the military base early in the lesser zone. Cleaned the guards out and continued into the building. The same group of guards I cleared out the first checkpoint respawned after 1 hour of fighting so I just ran past them and escaped. I like how brutal the AI is in terms of accuracy and detection. If I am out in the open and in clear view of an enemy I’d expect to be spotted. Feels real to me so I don’t mind them being aim-bots in that regard. They are trained soldiers so I imagine they should be pretty good shots not storm troopers in terms of accuracy. And I have noticed that the zone feels a little emptier than it should be. Pack of mutants. Maybe some more patrols. I have definitely had a big fight between bandits, stalker, and mutants take place so it is “working” a little bit in that regard. The enemies disregarded me and fought each other and I managed to clean them out. I hope to see improvements soon. I will very likely put another 100+ hours into this game like I did with the others. Pripyat I have like 150 hours in because I played a lot of the Misery mod. I play on Xbox so I hope they release the console updates the same time as pc updates. Don’t want to be left in the dust. And to compare it to cyberpunk on release is a crime. It’s actually playable. I have not seen any weird ragdolls that have been shown. A couple of immersion breaking NPC animations. IE when they hold their food/drink wrong and it looks like they are eating the bottle. So far it plays like a Stalker game in 2024 in 1080p so I really can’t complain. Really enjoying it so far! So much stuff to explore. 8/10!
I'm currently having a major immersion breaking audio bug, when I turn mono audio on there's no bad grainy echo, when mono is off to provide a more immersive experience, there is a bad grainy echo, as if all the audio is recorded inside a metal barrel of small room.
honestly pretty dodgy answers - why was the feature removed from steam page? "yeah marketing" - is it in? "yeah but its bugged" - what can we expect when its fixed? "yeah noticable improvement"
My PC defaulted the game on Medium quality settings and I was getting choppy frame rates that looked like it was just under 30 fps. I'm not at all surprised considering what the Devs have been through the last 4 years while trying to get the game out. I'm glad they are still working to make it better as we go.
@@KiffgrasConnaisseur To be fair that happened in the original game as well. I remember walking around and hearing ricochet noises, then headshot. The guy was half a mile away with a pistol and it was night time pitch black. Made me laugh so much that game.
It's reassuring to see the STALKER 2 developers addressing launch bugs and sharing their plans for updates. Their commitment to improving the game shows they value the community's experience. I also create videos about STALKER 2 and was amazed by the unexpected reactions when throwing a grenade into an anomaly-truly mind-blowing
Only bugs I have seen are random npcs dropping dead as soon as you finish talking to them, being spotted through walls. Bullets able to travel through hills that can hit you also. I did recently do a side quest where I had to kill a king pin of a gang. It was like 15+ people who rushed across this field and immediately killed me. I was able to kill one of them ran pretty far away to an abandoned building and I was pretty surprised that they managed to follow me that far. It made the fight so much easier since I had the upper hand of being able to take cover in the building and pick them off one by one.
They should be proud of this game, it has good bones, a few slight bug fixes and it’ll be perfect. I’d take this everyday over a well functioning game that sucks
They also released the game while their country is being invaded. So yes, while there is some problems I'm just happy the game is even out. I'm playing on PC and haven't had a single issue apart from the performance being slightly lower than what I'd like. I'm running the game at roughly 70-90 fps so it's definitely playable but future updates should improve on that.
My game is severely broken. Graphics are bugged to oblivion, and i couldn t even save the settings. I had to find appdata folder and set permissions. Such a dissapointment this game. I hate it. It is undercoocked for full price.
Even with the aim problems on controller, on series x, on performance mode, this game runs great, I haven’t had any problems with “bugs” which is overtly thrown around too much anyways. Y’all see minor graphical errors and think hmm this game is broken and deserves no chance. I’m having a blast, no major gripes here. Everybody really lacks perspective in this matter, this game has more polish at launch than any game we’ve gotten in 5 years.
really any game? we have def had better polished games even this year, and since the point of stalker is the great immersive ai for me that's not even working at the moment. that's a huge problem not a minor bug
"this game has more polish at launch than any game we’ve gotten in 5 years." What are you on about? Elden Ring (2022) that's 2 - 3 years old game and was way more polished, Wukong also more polished, Doom Eternal (2020) 4 years ago, one of the most polished and optimized games I have ever seen. Hogwarts legacy also was more polished at launch. Mafia Definitive Edition and the list goes on and on. I love stalker 2 but it is far from being polished and there were a lot more of games that were polished way better at launch than stalker 2 is.
That’s the thing with what you just said. The series X won’t get much frames but on pc, we have DLSS, Frame gen. When we have over 100FPS the performance drops are so obvious. There’s a bug where you can get a huge stutter and the game will stay around 10FPS for a good 10 seconds +. My girlfriend is going to try it on the X so I’ll see how it is but for PC. There’s a lot more problems just due to the fact we can get way more FPS.
I had major graphical issues, bugs and ofcourse issues with A-Life. I still like the game and will keep playing but not encountering any of that almost feels like a lie, even if it isnt. Sounds a bit like back when people were playing cyberpunk saying they didn't encounter any bugs when that was what the game was known for at the time. Just feel really unlikely. and if waht you are saying is true then congrats! you got extremely lucky.
About 7 hours in. Haven't experienced any bugs but I have crashed a few times on a pretty decent rig. There was a moment where I had a massive memory leak where my fps dropped to like 2. so far it seems good overall though.
In other words, A Life 2.0 wasn't ready in time for release, so instead we got bog standard enemy spawning as a placeholder until it is ready to be added. As long as it is coming, I don't mind the lack of transparency.
As per Gamestar, the game currenlty after release runs at Day 0 Patch not at Day 1 Patch. So it is the version they used at testing. They claimed that Day 1 patch is yet to be released.
Its kinda like bethesda games it doesnt matter if it launches as a broken mess as long as the devs arent suing modders like dumbasses you'll be able to make it into whatever you want later
for me, i had to stop playing because the shader compilation when starting the game and the loading times were unbearably long, i spent more time waiting than playing, otherwise the game runs fine and i hope they solve the problems so i can play
I don't understand why people are so nice to them, they always sold broken games. It’s the modders who should be applauded. Stalker 2 wouldn't exist if modders hadn't created expansions like Gamma.
My favorite part about this whole issue is everyone agrees that the major issues are all very solvable issues that, while unfortunately not solved before launch, will be solved. A lot more than we can say of a lot of other triple A games.
I've been playing it for the last 2 days and love it. Besides some performance issues, I haven't seen any bugs or major issues Could definitely have some QOL stuff tho. Like the enemies and what everyones saying i agree with. Also veteran difficulty is way to easy with the abundance of loot/enemies spawning. The stealth is kinda janky but kinda works lol
i didn't notice the issues with spawning till i went to the sphere as part of the main quest. wiped out everyone. started looting. had enemies spawn behind me where i came from, a place i knew for certain was empty of enemies. that said i did encounter a group of loners fighting some bandits. i helped out and then a group of blind dogs came in and attacked both groups. chaos ensued. was quite fun. but i can't tell if that was a scripted thing or what as i've barely ran into anyone out and about other than mutants and bandits. when i run into loners they seem to be permanently hanging out by a campfire or sitting on a bench by where i first met them.
Listen, I understand that people are complaining right now. I’m having to run all the graphics on medium because I can’t get it to run anything higher even though I have a monster laptop however I am still very much enjoying the game. Sure it has bugs, but I think these bugs give it some character and given time they will remove the bugs. I think the best thing we should do is truly just enjoy the game and in a month or two all these bugs may be gone. We also have to take into account, that this game was developed in a war zone and many of the male staff have been either drafted or joined the Ukrainian army, so I asked people to refrain from criticizing them too much and give them a chance to fix it
Or, how about - none of you work in software development, you CAN'T work in software development, sit down and stop crying every time a game releases, the adults are sick of it and we're going to turn this car around and you're only allowed to play computer games from the 80s and 90s from now on. Treasure Mountain here we come!
Remember Guys, it only took them a couple weeks to fix over a thousand bugs, yet they still decided to release the game a buggy mess, and let reviewers see the product in it's crappy form. I've seen NPCs in floors, crappy PS2 style animations, NPCs spawn on the floor of a building I JUST cleared, and somehow know where I am at all times because stealth is absolutely broken, I've looked at an NPC floating in the air with nothing underneath him, and then somehow teleport ontop of a car, and then die. (it was a normal human) This game released a buggy mess, and don't even get me started on simply being unable to START the game for over an HOUR after release due to errors, and even blue screening. This game won't be fixed until a year later, and it'll be up to the modders to pick up where the dev team fails like they always had to. We're past the days of PS2 style animations. The only good quality of the game is the lighting, and that's just UE5, not anything they did specifically.
@@RedneckRedemption1 People say it's because of the Ukraine War, but the Dev team, and their families abandoned their country weeks before the invasion. It's not like they were sitting in a bunker writing code for the game. Some Devs did stay to defend their country, and others straight up just left. The 'war' isn't an excuse. Which sounds really horrible to say, but the game was in development before the war, and it was close to being finished when the conflict first kicked off.
despite all the issues, kudos to GSC for community feedback handling and transparency. can you imagine another major game dev studio monitoring and reacting as quickly as they do?
I am personally loving this game, and the AI spawning hasn't brought up too many issues for me, but I can see the flaws. 20 hours in and the main thing that bothers me is if you stay in a spot for longer than 5 minutes there is a 100% chance a patrol or group of mutanta will spawn nearby and walk directly at you until you are spotted. So I keep trying to sit and play guitar at campfires in the game and am immediately attacked every single time, occasionally the AI I am with will become hostile because a faction they are friendly with will for some reason walk over and instantly be hostile. Though it feels dynamic pretty often on Xbox, occasionally I will get ambushed and then a friendly faction will come help me from nowhere, after emissions I have seen zombies start appearing in areas that were originally safe. Also I had a pack of blind dogs literally save me from a blood sucker and then turn coat and run. It works when it wants to, but this reminds me of the old A-Life, when it was first introduced they toned down ALL the settings on it because it was just too much for the engine to handle, I'm assuming same here.
too late. I have zero patience for a broken product. Refund and forget. And this is coming from a long time stalker fan. But this? They KNEW how broken their game is, lied about A-life and still released it while taking our money. Nope, not with me. So many other games on the horizon.
I would never play stalker 2 in this stage and destroy my first experience of it. I did the same with cyberpunk and many other games. You simply get the best experience if you buy and play it later. Sometimes even with dlcs and more free content and more than half the price. Its a win win situation. Except for games that are already working at release like fromsoft games, then you simply buy and enjoy. Patience and wisdom is the key. Im enjoying remnant 2 right now for 8 euros and if needed there are 3 dlcs available. Cyberpunk, dying light and days gone, was like that too. Buying cheap keys from keystore. My plan is to play remnant 2 until path of exile 2 early access releases and then play it until stalker 2 is completely fixed. If i want some action, there is arena breakout which is for free and working great. Planing helps alot.
My 1080ti is a literal beast. It can run stalker 2 on high graphic settings and be pretty good and on medium it’s seamless. When I get a new graphics card I’m putting my 1080ti in a display case
@@RedneckRedemption1i didnt assume he was using a controller as it wasnt specified :p, but yeah thats such a simple fix and its crazy that it will not be adressed in the next patch "Noted to be addressed in future updates: Analogue sticks dead zones bugfixes. A-Life system bugfixes."
Funny enough, they fixed all these bugs except a glaring game-breaking bug with Zalissya Defense 20 hours into the game that will either softlock the player until a patch comes out, or force a world-state the player more likely doesn't want to happen.
Honestly, being a patient gamer really pays off. I'm currently onto games from 2019 and 2020 at the moment and am having a blast with really polished games at a nice discount.
Ironically, playing the game before the big patches was a huge nostalgic reminder for me. Made me remember getting through SoC and CoP (the latter on a far too weak computer) for the first time as a 12 year old boy, before eventually discovering the modding scene and the major fanmade bug-fixing patches at the time. Even the type of bugs / performance issues are similar to some degree, just with different frequency of occurrence. Aside from that, I have had an incredibly positive time with S2 so far, despite frame dips and insane bloodsucker health pools. I'm not worried about the future of this game / franchise; the devs seem immensely dedicated, and so does the community, with several mods already emerging to tinker with the game in different ways. I recommend the game, but it might be good to give it a week or so for the first big patch to come along! Good hunting!
My assumption... these guys from GSC world were working tirelessly for the last years (factual) and they didnt want to push the release date any longer , their mental stability were already at their limit. Plus they are selfpublished and its very possible they needed the money to pay the devs. I work in software developing and i know the feeling of needing to release the product, knowing there is still things to work and having 0 mental energy to keep going. They made the right choice, now we have to wait a couple of months and the game most likely will be fixed.
stop it. Just stop the emotional manipulation. Yes war is going on, yes their studio has moved. Their real life situation is no excuse. It's a broken product sold for full price and the devs clearly removed any mention of A-Life 2.0 from their store site.
@@Ultradocker everyone is playing the game , you can even play it on a 1080ti from 7 years ago, so if you cant play the game at all its because you dont want to lower the settings to your correct setup, or you just want to overly complain. They didn’t develop stalker 2 in a warzone 😂. The devs moved to Czech Republic in 2022. Graphics are sub par 2016 levels with better lighting, poorly optimized with lots of bugs. Maybe in a year this game will be worth picking up on sale.
Dumb. I don't care about their plight or their excuses. Fact is they chose to sell us a product, and then they chose to deliver it unfinished. They act like it's a surprise, like "oh no, the game isn't functioning properly? Totally news to us, we'll get right on it!" Pffffft. S MUH D GSC!

@sgtmuffinbadger6147 Yeah it's literally unbearable don't know how they released with stick drift I don't even remember the last time I played a single player game with that issue.
I was excited for this game but this is honestly the most annoying game I’ve ever played. They start you in an area that is so dark you can’t see anything. Then the first enemy you face is invisible and take 3 full clips to kill. Then an electric pulse you have to walk near kills you instantly. Then you can’t see the guys shooting at you. After that you wake up with no gear and no health or healing items and enemies never miss a shot and kill you instantly. This game sucks lol
Flashlight? I think recent patch nerfed them saw MoistCritikal kill intro bloodsucker missing some shots for 2 mags(?) Omfg the heatscan is annoying even flanking them you thought they were still looking in your last position.
The worst ones is when you try to upgrade the gauss gun and the game stops? Also, when you are in yaniv station, if you follow the trail to symbiont it crashes, please fix these crashes
They made this in the middle of a war, the main dev died defending his country... im astonished just how gigantic and detailed this game is, theres secrets and detail EVERYWHERE, its amazing.
Bro, listen, the dude left the company way long ago. He has nothing to do with the sequel. They left the war early enough. They've had plenty of time. Stop being a Todd Howard type d rider bro
No they made it in a comfy office in the Czech Republic while getting government funding stop making it seem like they were developing this game drinking rainwater from pipes and eating MREs in a candle lit bunker while russian shells fell around them
They didn't make this in the middle of a war at all, they moved very early on to safety. also the main dev that left the team long ago and him dying defending for his country is crushing for us fans, but since he left ages ago this didn't effect the game
Dude they weren't in the middle of a war. They left the conflict zone and moved offices very early on, any dev that "died" "defending his country" is either propaganda or made the choice to participate in the war. At this point, they have to be paying people to comment these sorts of comments or it's just leftover NPC programming that hasn't been updated yet.

I had to stop playing because of the spawning issue. It's ridiculous when after killing a group of bandits more spawn in the same spot when you turn your back. It really takes me out of the game.
That has to be a bug I can't believe they would knowingly implement that

@@chomskysfavefive NGL my take is the removal of A-life is because it brings so much hassle to the game. You have so many modders trying to fix it and the modders are dam good at what they do. You have devs at GSC trying to fix it also and I think they decided to just remove it and increase spawns to move away from A-life once and for all. Sad to say that but increased spawns and removing the A-life text for me just doesn't look right.

@Orodreth888 Yeah I've also got the same problem. Was just wondering if you were getting more ammo somehow. Charging $60 for an Xbox game that literally has movement and stick drift as a feature is diabolical. Just my opinion. Game can't even handle 60fps ffs.
Like a Russian studio put out a masterpiece charging a cheaper price in the past. Ukrainians put out a dumpster fire for more. 😅
Can we please knock this off? If someone knowingly sells a sub par product IRL then it is offered at a discount.
This is sold at and also well above the industry full price for a game.
The developers are not doing us a favour. It's a paid product, that they chose to charge full price for.

I’ll wait until they iron things out so I can enjoy it properly without getting annoyed. I do give the devs some slack considering what they went through during development, but they also had the option not to release it in this state. So, in a way, people have the right to complain as well.

I got hit from the side by 2 Ward soldiers down a road that more than likely were just spawned in and I ran behind a broken building, one of them proceeded to just lob grenades in my direction endlessly Clear Sky style while the other slowly walked behind a chain link fence but I could see the AI treated it as though it was solid cover, after I shot him he proceeded to turn away from me and run away in the open.

So far I haven't had any complaints for the AI except for the lack of them. Seems like there are barely any stalkers moving around the zone except for bandits in small camps. Also went into a military base and there was at most 5 guys in the whole thing. I like that they tend not to push you until they think that you might have moved. TLDR: My experiences with the game showed some of the mentioned bugs and a-life 2.0 “working” to a degree. Hope to see an improvement soon. I play on Xbox and hope to see the console version not be forgotten as well.
For those of you who would like to read my full experience:
I have put maybe 10 hours into the game.

Yeah I was trying to get an artifact, when suddenly some random pistol dude shot me from a bridge hundreds of meters away. lol
Also they are quite generous with grenades, they have thrown like 3 at the time.
@@KiffgrasConnaisseur To be fair that happened in the original game as well. I remember walking around and hearing ricochet noises, then headshot. The guy was half a mile away with a pistol and it was night time pitch black. Made me laugh so much that game.
especially when the movement and aiming is so badly designed, having enemies shoot u so perfect is literally sardistic torture to their players
Shout out to the reviewers who postponed their reviews when told there was a day 0 update

Just don't turn your FOV up to max or you'll get frame drops even on performance mode.
really any game? we have def had better polished games even this year, and since the point of stalker is the great immersive ai for me that's not even working at the moment. that's a huge problem not a minor bug
Then that makes you part of the problem.
With UE5 i doubt it will ever work like in the og games.
As per Gamestar, the game currenlty after release runs at Day 0 Patch not at Day 1 Patch. So it is the version they used at testing. They claimed that Day 1 patch is yet to be released.
Fans of any other franchise would be hammering it. Stalker fans - "This is Fine"
Its kinda like bethesda games it doesnt matter if it launches as a broken mess as long as the devs arent suing modders like dumbasses you'll be able to make it into whatever you want later
a lot of bizarre gatekeeping in this community too from what i’ve seen
They’ve been starving for a release for 20 years so they’ll put up with anything, even broken trash like Stalker 2.
They are hammering it, but the bots and payed shills are trying to silence everything.
i rather play the older stalker with mods and have a solid experience
for me, i had to stop playing because the shader compilation when starting the game and the loading times were unbearably long, i spent more time waiting than playing, otherwise the game runs fine and i hope they solve the problems so i can play
Nooo GSC wont lie to you... thats why no one could view their own gameplay before launch.
Nooo GSC just want the best of you... your money!
Besides some performance issues, I haven't seen any bugs or major issues
Could definitely have some QOL stuff tho. Like the enemies and what everyones saying i agree with. Also veteran difficulty is way to easy with the abundance of loot/enemies spawning. The stealth is kinda janky but kinda works lol
The stealth definitely doesn't work, enemies detect you even if they aren't looking at you and you're not making noise
@ThePindar really? I've only had 1 issue with the stealth so far. Might be that I'm just killing everyone fast enough though lol
i didn't notice the issues with spawning till i went to the sphere as part of the main quest. wiped out everyone. started looting. had enemies spawn behind me where i came from, a place i knew for certain was empty of enemies. that said i did encounter a group of loners fighting some bandits. i helped out and then a group of blind dogs came in and attacked both groups. chaos ensued. was quite fun. but i can't tell if that was a scripted thing or what as i've barely ran into anyone out and about other than mutants and bandits. when i run into loners they seem to be permanently hanging out by a campfire or sitting on a bench by where i first met them.
I don’t like either of the options you two presented.
@@cryptdk2400dafug is this delusional comment even mean
I've been playing the first day patch and ao far I have no issues. Most of the bugs were in pre-release versions.
The only good quality of the game is the lighting, and that's just UE5, not anything they did specifically.
stalker cultists will defend the game, no use in arguing with them anymore. I'm waiting 2 years or 5 years for a grok mod pack.
no but let’s keep it a buck 50, the movement is literally 1:1 Battlefield Bad Company 1 from 2008. The jumping over obstacles is laughable.
@@notleviathan855 we know that modders do a better job
despite all the issues, kudos to GSC for community feedback handling and transparency. can you imagine another major game dev studio monitoring and reacting as quickly as they do?
I thought the ultrawide fov felt wrong. Glad that's on the radar. Loving the game so far, I can't wait to see how much better these patches make it :)
2 years from now after some well needed patching, it will kick @$$.

It will not take that long. I say a month or 2 tops.
Nah gamma will still be better
