Ja!
Hi! The device is called "Spleissschutzpresse"! Its a crimping tool to protect the splice. In Germany almost everybody uses crimp protection instead of shrinking protection. You can find the crimping tool here: www.opternus.de/lwl-produkte/spleisstechnik/werkzeuge/97/telent-spleissschutzpresse?c=53
I'm struggling to see any real advantage to the spleissschutzpresse. Sure it crimps a protector in around 2 seconds instead of 14 seconds for a heat shrink. But even if you pre-strip your fibres and use a fast (7 secs) splice program, you will never be able to cleave and set your next two fibres in 5 secs. At the best, you'll save a bit of time (12 whole seconds!) on waiting for your last splice of a bundle to cook, but that's easily swallowed up many times over by the huge cost of these crimps compared with traditional heat shrinks. That device would have been a godsend when I was still using my 30s because the tube heater time was a real productivity bottleneck and every splice I'd be waiting for the cooking to be done. What advantages does the spleissschutzpresse offer now, with sub-20 second shrink time on most modern machines? I'd love to learn more, I know no-one who uses one of these here (UK) and we regard Germans as the pinnacle of engineering efficiency so you guys must have thought this through! :^)
I think it's more about the standards we use here in Germany. AFAIK the biggest ISP (Deutsche Telekom), which is a role model for many smaller ones, has defined the crimp protectors as their default.

Hi.
Where did you buy the support for the press machine?
