Great discussion. Luckily for me I emigrated to Thailand, by accident, in 1991. I recall visits back to England to see family and friends, enjoyed my trips home, but already I could see how Thai people had much more freedom to enjoy life than in the UK. The evidence was simply that that's what they did, and still do. I thought from Blair onwards the country looked and felt like a police state. Same with probably all western countries, and during the 2020 meltdown what we saw in canada, france, australia was almost as bad as burma. I think you both hit upon a crucial thing: morals and morality. Materialism has turned into a swarm of locusts. The only solution is to live spiritually, that is, harmoniously and intelligently. The mantra for too long in rich western nations has been "I'm alright Jack", and I don't give two hoots about anybody else. However, unlike human law, karmic law is 100% uncorruptible and the price is alway paid for one's actions that harm others or oneself.

What's interesting is that I expect your comment to be followed up by disgruntled Brits who lack the get up and go & initiative needed to change their lives for the better. These people will state incorrectly from a position of complete ignorance that there's no point in emigrating, because "everywhere else is just as bad". To these people, I say that you're losers!

@@nigelwatson2750 Yet interestingly within the same British psyche there are Britons living in all corners of the globe, and in huge numbers! But you're right, many do have this idea - like in the USA too - that everywhere in the world is the same, and that the UK IS the world! The one thing more than anything else that I dislike about our country is the sheer number of rules and the mindset that says a law is a law and that's that, no questioning of it. Yet, one time I was chatting to a German here who said he used to go to England for his holidays because there was much more freedom and fewer rules than in Germany!

Around 14 years ago, hubby and I lived in a converted truck and used to work in the UK for the summer months, then travel out Europe/North Africa for the winter months. We lived in various vehicles for 13 years, the first of our journeys being independently overland UK to Kathmandu (and back). It was a FABULOUS life, being free to go where ever we wanted and frugal living. Now such travel has been made impossible with borders/restrictions again. We met some seriously interesting people. I often wonder how they coped through the past 4 years. The UK is finished, but one Iranian psychologist’s words keep coming back. He worked for the government in Tehran. We spent time with his family and he told me he hadn’t been paid in 6mths and was working with alcoholics. (Honestly) I asked him why he didn’t escape like so many had done. His answer, “Someone has to stay and help those left behind and to help the changes.”

There were fewer people at the Trafalgar Square one because of the guest choice and being corralled into a small area. The Hyde Park Walks around London had 100,000 I agree👍 there comes a point when it becomes pointless to follow a police allowed route. Shepherd's Bush was designed to squash and squeeze many outside the dhopping centre and nothing but a bit of noise happened. All theatrics. The police were already waiting before the people arrived.

"The Creature From Jekyll Island" book is, I strongly believe, a very accurate statement for current affairs and the root of the situation we are currently in. Big government is based on big uncontrolled worthless money created by FRS/World bank. Cut the uncontrolled money and the dependency on such money - the big government will die itself. But people would be in a hard ride. But this is the only solution that would work in a long run. Thanks for video, Nigel and Mike.

The place was far more expensive than Britain, it had much deeper and more widespread issues with the IIslaam than Britain had or has now. I was picking up the language and learning to understand written Dutch too but eventually it got on top of me and overhwhelmed me. I just felt too isolated and unsupported. If I had a Dutch husband, it may have been a different story. TBF, I am glad to be home because Netherlands was not the answer. My two penn'oth to the 'Living Abroad' debate:
I moved to Southern France/Corsica in 2000. I was 21 and on my own. I stayed on my own and worked completely 'on the black' for about six years.
All that time, Britain was in the EU and I could have claimed all kinds of health and social benefits but I didn't know that and nobody told me, so I didn't.
I didn't speak any French when I got here but you soon pick it up when you're young and not many people you mix with speak English.
My jobs were: hotel chambermaid, cleaning holiday villas, child minding and barmaid/waitressing.
I looked after my neighbour with lung cancer until he died too at the same time. I lived in shared flats, hostels, a holiday chalet/wooden shed...
When you live as an 'invisible' for six years, you see just how badly people can behave towards you if they think they can get away with it. How little they will pay you and just how snobbish they can be.
There were British expats here but they were mainly older than me and they were pretty bad to work for. Lots of getting on the plane back to England at the end of the summer and 'forgetting' to pay you your last wage. Or trying to pay you in kind by giving you left over food and second hand clothes.
The French could be as bad. They suffered from the 'Look at our exotic pet syndrome.'
They thought that if they spent half an hour with you trying to speak English and let you eat with them that was payment for six hours with their kids/cleaning their house because 'We are friends.'
Because I was young, single and not too disgusting to look at, sexual assault was...well...everyday. Some pretty bad experiences. Hence the appeal of the Russian fascist boyfriend for a time. He scared the rest of the harrassment away. And he bought me a chihuahua. So he wasn't all bad. (Thank God he didn't do a Count Dunkula and teach her to do the salute.)
This is why I have my doubts about an exchange and barter system. People aren't nice. They will rip you off without somebody at the tax office/ministry threatening them.
My life changed dramatically when I got a job as a tour guide on a bus. Still, I was declared and paid on the books for 35 hours a week and worked more like seventy but the difference was people treated me completely differently. I was amazed and disgusted. I was the same person but now I was OK because 'They knew where to place me.'
Then I got a second job with the same firm with yachts. In the words of Amy Winehouse, 'I went back to black.' Only this time I made A LOT. So I was still OK. Even though it was a bit dodgy.
So. When 91 Divoc came along I was well prepared for just how venal people could be. A lot of them, if the boss isn't there will turn savage. They're either in servitude mode or rampant little Moustache Man. Traffic warden mode, if you will.
And I was used to being 'On the outside.' Didn't bother me anymore. I used to get called plenty of things when I first came here. Mainly because of my elderly neighbour with cancer. He had hidden stacks of cash and I was a prostitute. That was the gossip. Yeah. Very unoriginal.
I don't know what the solution is. The current system is awful but a kind of anarchy...maybe...but as a completely parallel and apart society, being VERY CAREFUL about who you let in.
When I was a migrant worker WE did have a kind of parallel economy. We had a kind of honour code but there were theives and pimp types in there as well.
    I dunno. It's complicated.

Your story illustrates an important principle: in the free market, exploitation can only occur in the short-run, because it's possible for either the buyer or seller to withdraw from an exchange if they believe that they are being exploited. The problem is, that this is not the case when individuals transact with the government. You can feel exploited all you like by a bunch of corrupt politicians, but there is nothing you can do about it. If you try to politely try to withdraw from an exchange with the state, the government will send their thugs around to your house and either use force, or the threat of it, to take you away, so you can be thrown in a cage - and stay there, until you agree to pay them what THEY say you owe them.

Great talk - The fact is the UK has been under the influence of an alliance of control since the start of the 20th century that barely anyone realises is there but is staring them in the face! It's interesting that Mike comes from a mental health background and Nigel from economics as there is one goliath of the past 100 years that links both areas.....First name is John and last is Keynes, I will let you guess the middle bit, but his interests went way beyond economics, for which he's famous for!

Iv have the same way of thinking as Mike regarding governmental role in society & tax.
I think we should restore our common law that predates parliament & govern ourselves again like grown ups!
I don’t want government anywhere near my healthcare or education!
It should all be private & all healthcare (GcMAF) should be available by what ever doctor wants to take it up & let the market decide what works or not!
    Big Government it’s a racket!

I went to the protests in London a few months later than when you mention. They were held continuously every month and for a very long time. There was more like 1 million people (!!) at the first I attended. The first couple or so were slow to start with because people were in shock most likely. On top of the large London protests there were well attended Regional ones going on at the same time and especially in the North in places like Manchester etc.

Poland, how ironic, the country Britain went into an insane world war for over what was a regional dispute that could have been resolved peacefully had it not been for dark forces that were hell bent on war.

    • @parallelsystems
      @parallelsystems Місяць тому

The Bank of England and wall street funded Germany with loans to enable them to build the war machine. The invasion of Poland however would never had happened had the Bank of England not transferred over the Czech's gold over to the Reichsbank following the invasions of Czechoslovakia. They'd sent their gold to the vaults of the Bank of England using a BIS account for safe keeping. But they sent it straight over to Hitler and this funded the invasion of Poland. So the war was a choice and the entry of the allies was carefully orchestrated.

I really like this topic. Remember not to interrupt because the mics can’t deal with that when you say, “Right, right”. It sounds like confusion or rudeness because it’s so loud. And maybe you should not assume that people are Christian and have a Biblical world-view because when you say “repentance”, he is assuming or turning it to mean “apologetic”. I have mixed feeling about people leaving their home country because I don’t know if it’s cowardly not to fight for your country and people or it’s smart to escape trouble.

' what's going to happen when the old system breaks down?' and ' we use cash.' seems to me to ask himself that question. What happens when we can't use cash anymore? Surely when that system breaks down the answer could only be a system without money. Any form of a financial system can only be successfully achieved by stealing the land. Otherwise, if I opted out of the existing financial system by building a smallholding, gold would be worthless to me. Gold and cash have gotten us into the mess we're in now! It's enabled them to fool us into giving it a value.
