ahhh the twin i-beams! good idea for the time, but held on to it WAY too long! But I also have a special place in my heart for them still. And glad you have an online! That tailgate latch! I never knew! And yes my Fairmont as well as my 95 F-150 300 I-6 are FL-1A pigs
F series were the best trucks through the 1980s early 90s. Love the big sixes. I have seen some 65s with the integral steps in the cab floor which yours doesn't have. Was that an option or only on certain models? Do you know what year they were last available?
I know the 64s did. I've had a couple. All the 65 and 66s I've had were like this one as far as the cab floor and lack of cutout for a step position. Ford was notorious during this Era of ford truck for using leftovers from a previous year model which may explain the 65s you saw with steps inside
You did a nice job on your video i had one of these 65s back in 87 and always missed that truck when i got rid of it came with a 352 engine and i put a 429 with a c6 trans i beat up on mustangs and grand national with it .My son heard alot of stories about that truck so he went and bought me another 65 for my birthday Im putting it together on youtube check it out Terry Grover and thank you for the video

Crazy how long they ran that suspension!
Cool truck and an awesome project Dan. KUTGW.
That's how I fix brakes too! Either that or soak it in pb blaster and just drag it with the tractor. 😂 Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
Awesome project. I have a 5 on 5 wheel if you need one, lol It's from a Buick.
You know it’s going to be a project when you side load it with a forklift. I’ve been there too! Good video man!
I'm looking at a 65 and it's is the custom cab what all difference is it?
Custom cab is mostly cosmetic things like upgraded trim ,2 tone paint job and other accessories like inner door storage pockets.
Looks like a good father/son project. If they start on it like say when they're 12, should be a nice driver by 16. Just sayin.
Hint hint wink wink haha
