    The audio in is one of the most interesting features of the ER1. No matter how close any of the Korg Volcas get to being Electribe-like, they have yet to offer this feature.

    Great review mate. Most underrated piece of kit out there.

    I bought one for $30.00, it looks like it’s been dragged behind a truck, easily my favourite groovebox. I process the hell out of it and make rhythmic noise to end civilization as we know it.

    I just bought this as my first drum synth and I was kind of scared as I am told it's not a 'beginners synth'. You made it look very fun to play around with and learn how to use. Hopefully I can smash out some nice jams if I keep practicing. Thanks for the vid!

    ER-1 owner here and I gotta say this machine impresses me everytime I turn it on. I've owned it for years and its my main staple. I hope to get an MKII model soon.

      I'm relatively new to the synth world, and this er-1 is my first. Got it a few weeks ago and it's worked great. The only problem is that whenever I try to save a song, I'm met with Error 2. Every time. I know it means the maximum amount of recordable events has been reached but even if I just try to save a song with a single pattern I get the same results. Have you ever encounter this?

    • @Vapor-Fi
      @Vapor-Fi 9 років тому

      goony619 Are you trying to save a song or pattern? Just make sure that the write protection is off, so you can save. Make sure to read the manual front to back especially if you are new to the hardware and synths in general. Good luck.

      The issue is with songs specifically. Individual patterns save just fine. And Yeah, I've gone over everything I can think of. The main issue is that it will save smoothly after I perform factory reset, then revert back to the error after a few days. May just be a faulty memory unit or something of the sort. Thanks anyways.

    Thank you for the review, it sounds really good and with few controls you can do a lot. Definitely going to get one. Thanks man!

    Ive had this machine for years and its still a bit of mystery in terms of functionality. Thanks for this demo. Its so helpful. Have you tried connecting the machine to other synths and other machines of ELECTRIBE product series? You can dump the er-1s sound bank into other synths and vice versa for some real versatility. It would be great to see a demo/video for that!

    Dude that audio in channel seems really interesting do the other models have something similar? I am looking into getting something to jam on as my first and was looking into a volca sample but these boxes seem pretty fun also.

    Did you know that the Mk2 version of this is even better! Its got better signal to noise ratio so louder and cleaner sound overall plus I think they worked a little bit on the engine itself as the drums sounding much more alive the punch of the transients are much more in yer face and it really feels like its got more dynamics! I have the old one at the moment as well I foolishly traded the mark 2 a couple of years ago what I've honestly regreted! Get yourself one if you can it will really outshine the original one!

    how can I save the presets, so I should not make it again after I turn it off and on? can anyone help me please? I own one, and everytime I turn it on, I try to redesign same sounds over and over again, is there any button combinations?

      I know this is a year old, but did you figure it out? You need to light up either Smooth or Trig Hold in the Motion Sequence section.
