Did all what your doing with a m38-A1C…..1953…… thankfully it was last rebuilt in 67 by the RCEME(Canadian army)….mine had been standing 20+ yrs but engine was seized….. so I feel your pain 😉👍🏼🇬🇧good luck!
Since you drained the transmission, *it doesn't look too bad* to be honest 🙂👍 Mine looked a whole lot rustier than that. I think you'll be ok with running it. Nice work 🔧🔩
By the engine serial number I could see it was an earlier americar engine. The cars made right before the MB was made for the war. At least it's the better version that's basically the same as an MB engine. Cool project!
Keeping the original Willys bolts is a very good thing. The trans and transfer case always share their oil. Be sure to use 90 wt. GL-4 for them. GL-5 can damage the brass blocking rings in the trans.
boss build a dam around the head surface and use white vinger soak the enter surface valves and cylingers a for min of 24 hours dump and wipe away the trash might be amazied what you find.
For heavens sake buy a tripod, I'm getting dizzy watching you flay the camera about. I've been searching for a good rebuild project and your's looks promising, but the camera work needs attention. Love the content...John Australia
I’m definitely working on it. Sometimes the tripod is in the way, and hard to manage. It will improve, I have a new appreciation for people who film quality UA-cam videos. Thanks for watching
Jeep 👍👍👍👍👌
Sure is!
Excited to see the finished Jeep build 👍
Thanks!

That’s cool, thankfully an engine swap is pretty easy. I still have lots of work left to go though

I think it will work out, and if it fails I get to rebuild it or replace it. Not a big problem either way

Thanks for watching! So far it has been a ton of fun to work on.

I think the old bolts are cool. And I’ll stay away from GL-5

When I start rebuilding the old engine I’ll show everything I find
