935, I was an instructor for Metro Porsche Club and another instructor in the red group had one. Driving behind him was quite the experience Especially during deceleration The entire back of the car would explode in a flame. Loved that car.
Man, that Abarth is friggin beautiful! It's also almost a little mean looking, which I never would have guessed possible, with anything based on the early "old man" lookin Porche...
I would not laugh about that meager 70hp as the car is very light and had great handling. That is the reason how they won that many races. A good power to weight ratio is much more important then power alone. And a good handling in curves helps on the track a lot.
993 Speedster! I could see myself driving that car every day! I don't see another car in the list that would be as versatile for daily driving, but maybe the 991 Club Sport. Still prefer that air-cooled 993, over the 991.

Great work, Porsche made some amazing limited run cars and you have found a nice collection of them. The one I would have loved to have seen on here is the 1989 Harm Lagaay designed Panamericana, I assume it’s probably because it was a genuine one off made for Ferry’s 80th birthday and likely never made it onto the road. It’s an awesome car tho so worth a mention in any future videos 👍😎
Thank you! And that’s a great car! I actually left out a decent number of street version Porsches that were pretty limited run. Could certainly make another video at some point.
Seems so! I’ve picked up those pronunciations hearing them that way most of my life. I know coupe is like ‘coo-pay’, but nobody I know in the US actually pronounces it that way. I’m going to adjust pronunciation of both words for future vids.
Pretty sure I spoke to a Monegasque prince in a 993 speedster in Monaco, but I definitely know one of the 993 Turbo Cab's as I've seen it on the streets where I live. Both beautiful!
Ah got it, thanks. Still a slightly higher run than the others listed here and I definitely left out some other 1 of 1s and other lower production runs.
There is a street legal 917 around. It was made in preparation for Le Mans if I remember correctly. But in the end the car was used for racing only and the parts for street legality (rear view mirrors, turnlights etc.) removed again. It is now located in South Africa.
I did a bit of reading into it when someone else brought it up, I believe there were 2 street legal 917s. One for Count Rossi and the other is the Martini one. I don’t know about the second, but the first wasn’t an official Porsche conversion.

When I was a kid my father owned a 1/2 prototype Speedster originally _______ (designed by isn’t the right word, neither is built) so I’ll just leave it blank, essentially the idea was first thought of and planned out by Al Holbert, but he died before he could finish creating it, so it was finished by a close friend of his and some of Holbert’s mechanics from his dealership. The car was a heavily modified 1982 Targa, and kept to the original concept of what a Speedster should be: ie it was completely stripped out, without windows (except for the windshield) rear seats, ac, etc etc. By the end of the day the modifications made the car 400 lbs lighter, and it ran a quarter mile time about as fast as the 911 Turbos of the day. Ofc this was never a Porsche design, so it would probably be more apt to call it an Outlaw Speedster, but idk 🤷… All I know is that my dream is to one day be able to buy the car back from its current owner as my father is no longer alive to do so.
@@CarsLifeYT Thanks 😊, I managed to track the cars down to one owner in Virginia but seeing as I’m only 18 I’m not exactly in a position to buy my dad’s car back yet 😅, someday though…

Yup, the 968 Turbo S could’ve made this list for sure.
is that a street legal car?
@@chaselovesbecca The RS isn’t, no.
