Another great video. These Mcpherson Toyota setups are good for most people's drifting needs IMO. Honestly most ppl won't need more than P/S arms and a bit of LCA/RCA/rack spacer fettling to get at least as good steering lock as Ueo + decent self-steer, you can toss the car in well past 90, as behooves a manhandled rolla, and usually recover quite nicely, happy days for all. For competition it's always going to get tricky, now you're talking the extra power to spin the wheels going 90 degrees at any speed, having to base everything on extended LCA's from the get-go (between 1 and 2 inches, sometimes more) move the rack forward 1 inch or so to avoid binding (always fun), notching the LCA's for more clearance, and you'll run into a lot of the secret sauces like what length knuckles, which could be anything between 90-105mm, ackerman, etc etc. I'm sure Klingberg has their secret jigs and measurements. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, otherwise there'd be drift suspension shops around every corner = Nobody gets any work.
Liked and subscribed! Keen to send you some ra40 nuckles to be modded ! Great video man keep it up , where can I contact you to talk more about getting some work done ?
Any chance on showing the measurements for the knuckles ? Just a straight line thru the bolt holes and measured from there. And maybe your control arms also? Thanks for the vid 👍
It does slide out a bit yes, but I like to modify the bottom piece of the steering column to suit. The crossmember spacers and moving the rack forward mean the steering shaft has to be lengthened.
So with my longer rack spacer in the ke rack and the shorter beams speed shop spacer in the ae86 rack they end up with about the same amount of travel. If that makes sense?
Beams speed shop is still your best bet. Unless you have a full kit like this there is probably no need to go all out with it. Like I said though I’m just not super keen on their slip on rack spacers for the drivers side, so if you can’t get a rack end machined near you (should be easy enough for anyone that’s good on a lathe as it’s pretty basic machine work) I could possibly do it and post it to you if ya get stuck

Thanks bro real informitive

That’s the one thing I won’t show in detail, that’s my secret sauce haha. I’ve put a lot of hours in to refining them
Notched arms net probably more angle than tubular arms it seems
Yep in this case I recon they do
When they space a crossmember down like that does the steering shaft need too be modified or does it have the engagement still too just slide out ?
It does slide out a bit yes, but I like to modify the bottom piece of the steering column to suit. The crossmember spacers and moving the rack forward mean the steering shaft has to be lengthened.
@@klingbergmotorsport thanks mate :)
Interesting so ke racks are better than ae86? Also would like to see the method on how you created the machined in 5mm inner tierod spacer thats mint
So with my longer rack spacer in the ke rack and the shorter beams speed shop spacer in the ae86 rack they end up with about the same amount of travel. If that makes sense?
@@klingbergmotorsportthat does make sense they both reach max steering angle barring the limit from achieving any more lock is elsewhere
So for us people at home , what do we do about lock spacer?

Does this much angle and setup hurt or help lower power corollas?
Depends how it’s driven, but a lower power car does benefit from some Ackerman. In saying that this set up would work with any power level 👌
