Props to you man for making a short ADHD vid, brilliant!
Lol
Exactly.
Lol I was skipping the longer vids
Thinking the same thing lol
That’s the only reason I clicked on the link.
I tried stimulants but they never helped my ADHD. Strattera has been a life saver so far. You may have just not had a strong enough dose.
@@IvanVladivostok 37 Kg I think you messed something up bud!
I'm trying Straterra soon.
Stimulants were giving me way too many side effects and omg the crash 😭😭..
Sorry to be crude..Can I ask if you noticed any sexual changes, stimulants made me superfast in bed.
May I ask on what typeof adhd did Stratterra helped you with? Inattentive or hyperactive? Do you get motivated easily whenn off the meds? Thank you so much if you take time to answer.
i was so prescribed today, and after reading your comment.. and looking up a few other reviews, i am very excited. i am a EMT student right now and has had so much lack of motivation due to my adhd and depression so i was unable to study. hopefully that changes.
@@tylermcdonald1021 how's it going now? I am considering switching to a non-stimulant being that stimulants (well the two I've tried) haven't been too effective and an increased dose seemed to affect my mood, worsening my depression.
thanks for keeping the video short ( given my ADHD, i look for videos that are generally under 3 minutes)
I searched UA-cam for straterra videos, yours ws by far the best video I found of this medication. You jumped straight to the point. Thank you,
Excellent short. Compared to the stimulants I've experienced over the decades, this NRI has not affected my raynaud's. I just got off of a year of Sunosi, a DNRI, and feel much more in control of myself and less emotionally agitated. Having just started on this, I pray that they've finally got something that works with my physiology and life requirements. It's been a long time, and I know God has good things in store and His purpose for our trials. Bless you for sharing.
any updates on how Strattera has been for you?
Did the other medications affect your raynauds in a good way or bad? What were the side effects? I have raynauds and also been looking for a medication for adhd for almost 12yrs now
@@Cryptic_Wolfz The atomoxetine works well for adhd. When titrating up slowly over months, the side effects were very minimal; but, months after leveling, bupropion had to be added back in to help with mood & general motivation. But w/both, I had to have them titrate me down some on the atomoxetine. It takes a long time to get back to yourself; and when you do, there is an overshoot. I'm still being adjusted ... so, still a work in progress. Specific to Raynaud's, acetaminophen (Tylenol slow release if you can get it) is the best OTC. It is literally a godsend to counter vasoconstricting side effects of almost every regiment I've been on. But, just know even with a Dr monitoring & Rxing it, you'll have periods throughout the day where the raynaud's is uncontrollable. So I time when I take the acetaminophen to get me through a critical activity of my day. In my experience, anything stronger has other downsides I don't want to have to deal with. I pray this helps. Hang in there, God knows your struggle.
Thanks, candid and very helpful
Thank you for your review, I really appreciate it as I am starting on atomoxetine. Can you share what dosage you were on?
thanks for the Short informative Video!!
Second day taking Atomoxetine 40mg. 67 years old so I felt this might help my learning and attention span issues with focusing on some education I am brushing up on. Maybe a follow up on how the drug manifests itself as I am already having placebo effects as to being hopeful this will do me good. Doctor felt this not being speed based will not harm heart and increase my BP too much. Great video for those wanting to up their game with safe medicine.
Was diagnosed yesterday, first psych appointment coming soon. I the meantime, I promise I've done wonders for your video watch time, as I've had to re-watch this at least 100000000000 times because I got distracted.
Iodine and L thianine are superb for brain fog and slow cognitive tempo . L THIANINE is great for anxiety also .
How much L Theanine are you taking? I agree that it helps with anxiety as I take 700 mgs a day. I tried to take a break last year and anxieties came crashing down. I got back on after a month and was able to manage better. However, I'm concerned that I may be nearing the upper limits and while it does help, the anxiety is still there and hard to manage at times. Wondering if it's time for prescription grade alternative.
Thank you. Tried 3 stims and none have worked, 40-60 still sounds way better than being in a bad state. Did you go through the NHS (I'm guessing youre from NI)?
I used to take Strattera but I kept forgetting them. For years I've been on and off Ritalin. But like, the 10 mg ones. However, I really wanna review my meds again. Perhaps MR Ritalin and a very low dose of tablet Ritalin might help to motivate me/be a good alternative! I'll have to talk to my doctor. Tho, now that I'm older (22) , it may be easier to take things like Strattera.
- Start running ,at least three times a week.
- healthy food
-avoid sugar
-train concentration and workingmemory (important) with computerprograms
- Take care of your sleep as good as you can.
-Read books regularly.
-Practice Transcendental meditation twice a day (or an other form of meditation)
- Take L-tyrosine (capsules everyday) and L-theanine capsules, L-Carnitine. (Aminoacids).
Nice diet plan 😂
I dont want stimulants anymore , i cant handle the daily crashes. I just want to be normal.
I stopped Concerta and started drinking coffee crashes aren’t as big as they used to be and I can just drink another cup of coffee when I crash and I feel normal tbh
@@kylewebber9185 will coffee doesn't replace midcations that boost dopamine tbh but the crashes from midcations are 10× worst
I started on strattera a month ago still got nothing from it i think id like stimulants more since I can more control my dosage like taking days off or taking half my dose when I don't need it
@@adnanrifai8475 yea straterra made me feel a lot worse, my energy and mood was so low and I started losing weight even when I ate normally as I used to, I believe stimulants are a lot more effective
I drink coffee while fasting and trust me, having a cup of coffee while you’re fasted works 10x better than drinking coffee unfasted
I am going to try Strattera my anxiety is so bad I cant take stimulants sadly.
But if your anxiety is due to your ADHD then I will recommend a such a small dose of adderal would be 5 mg
How'd it go
How are you now
Wat about straytera and concertante?
Aderall makes my anxiety skyrocket and makes my mind feel jittery and alm over the palce, like I can't calm down. I thought dexedrine was the one for me but I told my new psych it only ever felt about 40% even at a very high dosage. She got me started on strattera and the side effects suuuck, but after a month, I think it's the one for me. I feel so much calmer and clearer and my brain feels organized. It is very lowkey, but apparently that's the perfect amount for me.
What stimulant worked for you my friend
When I studied abroad in Japan, I took Strattera (stimulants are illegal in Japan). They worked pretty well as long as I took as every day, but I had a similar problem. Strattera helped me focus during lectures, but that was about it. I still couldn't focus enough to do readings and it did nothing for my hyperactivity. I switched over to Adderall the moment I got back to the states, and it works so much better for me. Not only can I focus during class, but I'm also able to complete my class readings, and I don't have to worry about accidentally kicking the person sitting next to me.
Another reason why I stopped taking Strattera is because of the side effects. It suppressed my appetite to the point that I lost weight because I just wasn't eating. And when I did eat, I couldn't eat that much. Like, if I ordered a small soup at a restaurant, I couldn't finish all of it. Also, when I took my morning dose, I had awful nausea. So I spent the first half-hour or so feeling like I'm going to throw up. And unfortunately, if I don't eat breakfast (which was often), it made the nausea worse. But I couldn't eat because I wasn't hungry and I was too nausea to even try to swallow something down. It got to the point that I would skip my morning dose on days I had an early class.
Adderall also suppresses my appetite, but I can at least eat a decent size meal. Not to mention, I don't have nausea anymore, which has made my mornings much better. So that and the better focus and less hyperactivity mean that I am much happier with my Adderall. Honestly, my only complaint about Adderall is the fact that it wears off after 6ish hours, but I just plan my day so that I get as much done before it wears off.
Strattera is helpful for some people, but it definitely was not helpful for me.
Oh man I went to japan almost a year ago and DEFINITELY had stimulants on me...oops. Super helpful review tho, I’m starting this mediation tomorrow. Sorry if this comment is dated lol
How did you convince your doctor to take you off Strattera and switch to a stimulant?? I am not convinced strattera is beneficial for me and a waste of time and would greatly benefit my overall mood, anxiety and motivation in being switched to a stimulant
@@tylercoughlin8576 I was honest with my doctor upfront and said that the only reason why I wanted to take strattera was because stimulants are illegal in Japan. She knew that I wanted to switch to stimulants once I returned back home.
@@Birdiempls huh they weren’t illegal when I visited a year or two ago. I just brought a note from my doctor in case. I think it depended on the stimulant though. And I was just visiting for a couple weeks.
Had the same nausea issue, I was taking it sophomore year of high school and i had transferred to a new school. Half my new friends were concerned that I had an eating disorder because I didn’t eat much at lunch and left second period English to throw up in the bathroom at least 3 times a week
Thanks for the for the info. ❤
I’m not able to take any stimulants because of a weight condition that results with me usually at 10x lower than what’s normal, taking it would cause my body to not be able to respond to it properly, especially with my weight, and i’ve been taking strattera for a month or so now and it’s changed my entire life. there’s of course been times i’ve gotten depressed when off of it since because of my weight it only lasts for 5 hours then wears off but strattera actually helped me with doing so much more in my life and fully being able to express myself so much, even if it’s just 40% better, it stilll is something i see my entire life differently with now
Yep, Strattera is not that super life-changing drug, that solves the ADHD in full on a dime. Its more like a supportive treatment I think. With added therapy or other self management techniques, I think it can still help many people who dont have access to standard stimulants though.
Thanks, man. My doc is thinking of adding Strattera on top of Wellbutrin because I feel like the former is only getting me 60% of the way. Off topic.... are you Irish? Your accent sounds familiar!
I just got diagnosed with ADHD today (32 years old) and this is what the prescribed me I am already on wellbutrin and have another appointment next week to see how it works
@@motivatinglilahow did it go? My doc just added generic strattera to my Wellbutrin also but I’m almost afraid to mix
I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. My blood pressure is always high when I got into the doctors and I figured it's just anxiety. My doctor was concerned about my blood pressure, so I had to do a EKG test, turns out I have sinus trachycardia so I can't take stimulants. I hope other alternatives work, because I am back in school and I'm really worried my grades will drop.
I hope you find something that works. Goodluck in school!!
@@probablyahorse1389 thank you
Did it work ?
@@replaysplays5121 My psychiatrist told me non stimulants won't work for me because my problem is with staying focused, so I've been doing 30 minutes of cardio for the last month in a half trying to bring my resting heart rate down so I can take Adderall.
Strattera is also a no no for people with any kind of heart problems
It's been 2 weeks since I started and I fucking hate it I just don't feel motivated enough and it's ruining my life
I just started it for my ADHD, I hope it helps because I cannot have stimulants or controlled substances.
How’d it go?
Please update 😁
Clonidine works well, if you also have HBP
So a few notes:
If people are wondering about the side effects, I didn't mention them cause I didn't get any.
Dunno why I was first prescribed it over stimulants.. it kinda depends on the psychiatrist I guess.
I won't be doing any more video on meds.. I don't feel comfortable talking them, to be honest. If you want information, best source would be your doctor.
However I wanted to inform people that there were non stimulant alternatives, as a lot of people didn't seem to know.. so talked about subjectively.
Iodine and L thianine are superb for brain fog and slow cognitive tempo.
I take it at night because it make me so sleepy in the day and the truth is that we this drug you need to have self awareness to work properly
I was stratteric my whole life but last year my doctor prescribed me with 40 mg of ADHD and it helped out a lot with my straterra :D
@Angel Sanchez i was too focussed it ruined my creativety and i didny have the ability to feel social, i was always robot like so he prescribed me with 40mg of ADHD. And it really helped with my symptoms. I hope this clears things up for you
@@Thuhglegend27 strattera in which dosage? And ritalin ?
@@gianmarcomarono5393 I dont think it got a dosage, they just said that i was stratteric snd they prescribed me 40 mg of ADHD. Im not ritalinic though its just the stratteric version i have symptoms of :p

This crap made me feel spaced out and slow. Not much help on ADHD except killing my energy drive. I felt real spaced out and almost floating after day 4 of taking only 25mg. (My body is sensitive to meds) luckily no urine issues that I noticed but I just feel out of it which makes me more anxious.
Yes you are correct
i chose this drug because i am afraid to end up with an addiction, it is the first time ever because i just got diagnosed with ADHD ... started with 40mg daily since yesterday

I love the positive elements of this drug. Organizes thoughts. Less jittery. Of course it may cause my heart to explode, but time will tell. Also, we have the EXACT same haircut. Which is amazing.
@aaads YT every medicine is a drug

when i took strattera i was one of the unlucky people who have been prescribed. I took it for 6 weeks and fainted twice, and felt super suicidal so be careful with strattera
My doctor prescribed me 50 milligrams of Adderall i got addicted
In Italy we dont have famous ADDERAL ,i have strattera ,evey day and i have emoticon like booom and the ❤️ had 145 BPM this morning. After 9 H 127

@@gaiettatuttoattaccato5435 because of the strattera?
Facts even on 20mg XR Adderall I got so addicted I was popping 2-4x my dose before stopping. Strattera helps with norepinephrine which helps with impulse control, which i lack hence my prior addiction. Today is my first day on strattera I’m kind of scared about how this drug will go for me.
Tried Strattera, not really effective. It feels like nothing. No kick, no pump, no nothing. It feels like I wasted money on it. I want stimulants.

Just started Atomoxetine (3 weeks in) and it is putting me to sleep. I mean, I love that it helps me sleep, but I kinda need to be awake for work lol. Stimulants work better for me. Since it's been making me so tired, I've started taking it after work which kinda defeats its purpose.
It builds up slowly in the system, so should it matter if you take it in the evening or not? Also, have your side effects improved over the next 4 weeks since you posted the comment?
Personnaly, loved the positive effects of Strattera. But I had huge side effects like weight loss, and many weird sexual side effects like painful orgasms etc....

Did he ever mention dosage? Kinda pointless review if you never mention your dose?
I didn't mention dosage cause dosage is subjective. A high dosage for me could be ineffective to someone else.
@@ABCsofADHD actually it’s quite objective. This medicine is prescribed specifically to weight. So us not knowing these variables with you means you could’ve been prescribed the wrong dosage if it didn’t work for you. . Thus a tainted review.
Not everyone knows that though. I have been asked many times about what med and dosage I take, cause they want to try it.
It's why I haven't made videos about stimulants.
FYI though, the dosage was correct for my weight. I was made to stand on a scale the first time I was diagnosed and every subsequent check up.
@@ABCsofADHD fair enough. Great content. Thanks for sharing ur experience.
No problem. Thank you for your feedback.
There is still chance of dependence with stimulants. Not saying you were wrong in your statement; just feel like the public doesn’t realize the difference between the two and wanted to make that clear.
Hated Strattera. Haaaaaaated it. Made me a sleepy slug. Concerta was just as bad.
It's funny how meds can affect different people in different ways. I take Concerta XL currently, and I've tried a few different meds and I've found it work best for me.

Is there not a meditation, yoga, mindfulness solution? Have you tried apaptogens like Maca, Rhidiola Rosea, Spirolina?
