Hi Jason! I found another creek in a glacier deposit area over here in Michigan and the bottom is clay covered with gravel. It's got the best flour Gold I have found to date, up to a dozen specks a pan! Thank you again for the education and the inspiration to get out there and look.

If you have a paint mixer for cordless hammer drill, you can bust up that clay pretty good in a pail of water. Might save you some time

Well if nothing else if that's close to home it's a good spot to test run new mats and new equipment. Awesome job on the morel mushrooms. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure today. That's kind of weird how there's a trough there on the bedrock like maybe it used to be a flowing stream, Maybe that would be a spot to crevice if there's any cracks on the bottom of that trough area.
I agree, the clay is really tough to deal with tho... at least the mushrooms were easy to get !!!!

You should try using the suction side of your pump to suck up the Bedrock rather than a hand suction device it would be kind of like turning your highbanker into a highbanking dredge
My pump probably wouldn’t do the job but maybe another variation could !!!!!

Bought a Garrett gold pan kit (approved by Mr Dodge) several years ago. Don’t really know why, not much Gold in Kentucky. But, I’ve had fun learning how to pan. Did make a homemade sluce by cutting a 4 foot length of 4” corregated plastic pipe in half lengthwise and screwing it to a board. Heard that sometimes lowes or Home Depot have a little gold in some of their bags of sand shipped from out of state. Ran 2 bags through my sluce and lo and behold, i did find 1 piece of Gold and some small Garnets. It was fun, probably do it again. I like ur channel and ur sense of humor 👍🏻

I like the practical examples! It's stuff like that bedrock pan test that helps a lot of new prospectors learn. It's one thing to say something, another to understand a concept and be able to visualize it. Spiffy looking highbanker too. The river sluices are awesome but limited by location. Highbanking is where the numbers creep up!
Some of that bedrock almost looks like you need another companion to Mercedes, Ms. Broom! Then you can make "sweep with her" puns.
In addition to morels and chanterelles you should also learn to identify chaga (its one of the highest antioxidants on the planet, orders of magnitude more potent than many so called super foods). If you are out and about you might as well gather all the natural gold you can find even if some grows on trees. Thanks for the post!

Hey Jason, glad to see you and Rigby out having fun and looking for gold in some great locations. Some people wouldn't have given that place the time of day. I am still working on locating some places to prospect and do some testing myself. Not sure if I will find some cool places like you and Rigby get to go too.

Great video and nice portable highbanker. What I do up here is drive in a steel rod in the ground to probe for the lowest spot, bring a jack to pull it up sometimes. Works for tracing bedrock in creeks also. Looking forward to next video.

Eh you're good with the mini high banker. I took mine to Nugget lake the other day and just set it in a tub up on shore. I also classified the material first. I just set a bucket in the tub to collect the tailing and put them back where I got them. No harm no foul.

Hi Jason! Thanks for the video. I just want to let you know that you had quite a few false morels in your bucket there (Verpa sp.). I paused the video at 22:28 to see your bucket because it looked like you picked one just before that. You can tell them in the field because the stem attaches all the way at the top of the cap (making a large sinus cavity) and also the stems are filled with a white substance (true morels are completely hollow inside). Can't wait to see the next video! Cheers.

I did my first pan on Lake Superior this past week! I actually found seven or eight tiny specs of gold! I was instantly hooked. They were not even measurable but seeing it in the pan was a new rush that's for sure. Thank you for your videos and information, I would not have evem tried without stumbling upon your channel.

Great detective werk Jason. You nailed the bedrock formation and what was going on underneath the ground. I hope folks were paying attention to the information you gave out. The gold is rose colored here, looks rusty. Its amazing the amount of led you can fined,,,collecting this and having a melt down later on in winter season the led nuggets do add up over time and yes can make some nice crafts,such as chess pieces,fishing weights etc list not exhausted,,crafts simply applying your skills to turn a buck or two to pay for your mining gear etc way to go but have to say,id be bringing back a truck load of timber also off theme there beaches every time out the lumbar is in abundance and the heart of any home a good old log fire now your talking❤

As the glaciers melted gold traveled down hill,sink a hole in tha flat of that alluvial fan.Bit of diggin but who knows you could dig to the richest status.That spot opened my eyes .Auger time can you dig it?

Nice little high banker you have there. The hi low V nugget trap would work nice at the top of your mat. of course just my opinion. Now you can move some dirt and stay dry.

Great vid Jason , nice little highbanker too , very compact . With that exposed bedrock once you took off the top with the shovel i would have used a banister brush or paint brush and picked it up with a pan , not a gold pan but we call it a dust pan and broom or even a vacuum and really clean the top of that bedrock . Funny thing though i just went out on the weekend and spoke on my vid about a similar story as yours , lol , coincidence ? , well done mate cheers .

Great video on the mini highbanker! Also interesting to see your target areas -- gravel pits look good in the glaciated areas. Here in IN, I'm starting to run a Gold Rat Mini highbanker w/2000+/hr pump, w/the dream mat + miner's moss mods. Running gravel is just fine and dandy, but clay slows me down from 3-4 shovels per minute to 1 per. Some flakes, but the big piece is that FLOUR GOLD!

I have not got any complaints about running my (rc model designs.com) trommel with added spray bar and sluices ! it' moves just as much material as a gold cube trommel but then again I don't bring the trommel pumps and sluices all down to the creek I bring material home and bring back what I don't use to help environment 😎😊⛏️ I have a collection of pans forming my favorite pan is my Garrett super sluice I wonder who gave me the idea to get that 🤔 🤣🤣

That is a perfect spot for a 4 inch hydroforce nozzle, im building a highbanker/dryland dredge to fit a 4 inch hydroforce nozzle. 16x96 with a 16x44 hopper all made out of wood and im gonna use 4lb expanded raised metal/moss and v matting. Im gonna call it the Juggernaut AU

Nice little highbanker you got there you need to decrease the slope of the hopper to wash those rocks more efficiently or you could make a rake gate system like the gold hog does you just swing it up or down to release your rocks once they are clean especially when theres lots of that sticky clayjust a suggestion love your channel jason
Right where the bolts and nuts on the hopper is where you could put the rake gate plus you could add a small piece of miners moss up top so it can do 2 things it will grip the material better in the wash zone plus you can quicky pull it out and see what your getting without pulling the mats when that ugre comes up to see if your even on the gold

Mushrooms are so good you need to get a Mushroom sack to use it has holes in it it will lay down lots of spors so lots more Mushrooms will be there in the future bucket won't let them out Rey plant will get you more Mushrooms 😉

Nice shrooms,fresh and tender morels, they have been as elusive as the gold in that quarry around central Indiana,at least where I can hunt,I've only found about a dozen all year

The “ yellow “ ones turned out to be false morels..... I didn’t inspect them in the field well enough... we did end up with around 20 small black morels tho ! Should be pickin big time in about 2 weeks!

We have been on pretty good gold lately tho,around .1-.2 grams per trip chuncky for our area and only about 3-4 hours of good olfashion panning in the state forrest ,great times, makes all the days with almost no gold seem to disappear from the memory bank,Thanks Jason

I swear ive seen that spot before somewhere, cant put my finger on where but it reminds me of a video I watched over a year ago......Déjà vu lol or a glitch in the gold edition of the matrix lmfao Cheers Brother!!!!!!! update on the mats, still awaiting the arrival of my silicone order, decided to go with a 2 part solution for better curing results, had a few failed attempts with using Project 1 RTV silicone and it not curing properly or releasing from the forms (even with coating applied to the form to prevent sticking and also trying release agents)
I still use the soap and water technique...

Try a small electric cement mixer run off a gas generator......that will break up the clay really fast.
