today's video is of this 4hp Ball Top Monitor Hit and Miss Engine Running. I got this engine running this fall and only had time for this quick video. Hope you enjoy!
When I was a kid there was a guy that would bring his engines to a local festival. I'm pretty sure he had every size of these engines. He had them all painted and pinstriped. I would hang around and watch them for hours. They must not be very common as I've only ever seen a few more of them.
I only have a few flywheel engines in my collection, most of them in my videos are from ones I worked on for people. or like the earlier videos were my dad's collection. For most hit and misses I do own I resell and buy different ones so I have something to tinker with. only if it's really special like the Stuart little major do I keep it. I have a 100+ Clinton engine collection that fills my garage so space is limited. reselling them makes it easier to afford different engines and other things I collect as well. plus I like tinkering with them and once I've done everything I get bored of most engines when there's nothing left to do.
This has to be the best slow running hit miss engine I've ever heard. It runs like a watch! I could fall asleep to this sound. Great video!
Highly excellent! It doesn't get better than this!

Runs slower than any engine I have seen ,,,,,,,,,really kewl !
Never seen one like this, gonna have to look it up. Sure would like you to explain in detail. Thanks
Its amazingly slow and consistent! Amazing idle, but im sure for work you would need to turn the RPMs up
Awesome
Is this engine part of your collection, nice slow runner 👍🏻

I would think that took some time to fine tune it for that.
