This song hits different for me, I grew up in a dark place 4-9 Me n my brother was getting beat by my moms ex husband everytime he was drunk. He would hardly feed us when our mom was gone from work, I had to steal food in order to survive. My mom was hardly in the picture growing up at all, I never really had a mom. Me and my bro were always involved with police due to shootings in my neighborhood, drug deals, and all that involves in the dirt. After they divorced our parents started to abuse us, then my mom met and got engaged to a big drug dealer in my city. she got hooked onto coke, she would always leave us for him.
