Man, the memories that came flooding back. vanilla D1 really dragged me into it. Ten years later, Im still loving the game, even with its issues over the years, I still haven't found a game that I still play after all this time. The only thing now, is the friends I played with, that have moved on. Ah, those late night D1 raids, the campaign. What a game.
@BarryTalent Try fighting Savathun on Legend and the witness. I played the shit out of D1 and I do not remember one mission being hard except regicide. D2 has way harder story missions. And if u want a challenge do Salvation's edge.
@memecrider3585 Said this in another comment but I find that both games are hard in their own way, I feel more challenged in D1 because we are so powerless and enemies feel harder whereas D2 is annoying hard, I would do the raid but don't have time to commit to that sadly
I remember this one. Next time spawn the boss then run back to where you first jump on to that floating area. Use a scout rifle, sniper, and rockets to take him down with no adds getting in the way. I remember that as the cheese back in D1.
All I remember about that one is crouching in the cave on the bottom level plinking Oryx with a sniper rifle and waiting for the ammunition auto recharge and heavy ammo synth countdown to end to fire rockets at him and the yellow centurions. Also, watching that clip, I’d forgotten that finishers were a D2-only thing. Would have been very easy to get killed there wondering why your finisher hasn’t worked…
I think alot of people slept on how powerful Invis Hunter was in D1. I would crouch and hide always. It allowed me to regain my health and shielda. Plus the showstopper Super was great. I would invis into a group of ads, pop super and spin to win! 😊
I played D2 since the beginning and loved it so much I decided to go back and buy D1, But I’m kind of lost in D1. I played D1 very little in the last several years, but it’s so different. My mind is tune to D2, with the ways you upgrade, how you get and level up weapons and so forth. I’m going to give D1 another go. I’ve only ever played it solo and I don’t have any weapons to speak of, so can someone tell me how to get new weapons how I should approach D1 as opposed to D2.
Tip for ya. If you're struggling for decent gear, jump into the heroic strike playlist or PvP and you'll end up getting some half decent loot. If you want some help, just let me know. I'd be happy to help you grind some loot
lol, this was not a hard mission when you knew where the cheese spot was. At 9:00 in your video, it's the building to the right of the Echo of Oryx. It has a ledge on the back where you go and stand, you simply jump up, shoot things, when it starts getting scary you drop down to safety, rinse and repeat. Good video tho
Its hard when you don't use the cheese spot lol I also didn't have a fully leveled super or good weapons which made it harder for sure, apparently the comment tho my man
Still play both of them and tbh D1 feels slow and plodding compared to the current state of the game. Worryingly we seem to be headed back to massive content droughts of the original game. This vid is a great piece of nostalgia for many of us though. Just wish they'd update it for pc or next gen. My biggest killer is reminding me that mantling wasn't there. The ammo economy trauma returns quickly too. 😂😂😂
This wasn't all that hard when it came out and definitely isn't hard now... However it was such a good mission. When the artifact was finally accessible during HOW, the battle with Skolas was much harder.

Truly missed D1 sounds and the planets. I would go on Venus and just find a spot and just sit there in a grass spot, peaceful and quiet.
id rock a sniper so i can catch the flying watever it is over by where the vog starts
I miss these post-campaign missions that were hard asf
Me too man that's why I went back to D1 lol
I miss when the post campaign WERE missions. Destiny 2 is a major fall from grace
@therealfrogjuice one of the reasons I went back to it
@BarryTalent Try fighting Savathun on Legend and the witness. I played the shit out of D1 and I do not remember one mission being hard except regicide. D2 has way harder story missions. And if u want a challenge do Salvation's edge.

Ah...D1. The game that changed my life and above all else, kept me out of trouble.
I remember this one. Next time spawn the boss then run back to where you first jump on to that floating area. Use a scout rifle, sniper, and rockets to take him down with no adds getting in the way. I remember that as the cheese back in D1.
Yeah I completely forgot about the cheese spot haha
Another spot was by the portal where the boss spawns. @BarryTalent
Man I miss d1
If you got time then play it
Word
Honestly wish I could, but for some reason my PS5 cannot play it without the framerate killing itself off.
It's still there dude. Epic game and it's there in its entirety
@DanteYuy it's a 30fps game man but once you get used to it it's all good.

I miss the dreadnaught. Spent countless hours fkn around there! Lol

Quite a performance, mate! That was one for the ages. Well done, & thanks. ❤
😎👍
I don't remember D1 sparrows being so slow😂
@thomasclyne4410 yeah proper shocked me hahaha
Because most guardians wind up using time breaker.
@@thebekmanzI played from beta to end.
I can unequivocally say nope. That's probably a perspective thing for you.
Most did not end up riding it.
PS4 was alot slower, only 60 FPS.
Most likely because of the non-adjustable FOV
My fave D2 mission was 1AU in the Red War, then they improved it with the ReDux version for Solstice of Heroes
@@LoadZaFunk sick mission to be fair!
Man, do you know that this mission can be veeeery more easy?
You can effectively kill that boss from afar using sniper. Ice breaker fit perfectly.
@Antarides3798 As it was a brand new account I didn't have the luxury of exotics but icebreaker would have been handy for sure!
@@BarryTalent in that case any sniper would fit. Ice breaker is a must have weapon, but i only wanted to inform you, man.😊
@Antarides3798 All good I appreciate it brother!
That was a good mission.. Excellent run on the mission by the way 👍
@jwooldridge11 cheers man appreciate it!
Bro i remember The strikes were harder in matchmaking as well.
I remeber playing D1 and feeling borderline scared at certain parts. Due enviornent, music, fx etc. Now in D2 everyone's a god. Its a joke.
@Little_Milks I think the music was so good in D1 the raid music in taken king was so mad
@@BarryTalent it was so much better!
I remember cheesing the hell outta the Nightfalls (Archon Priest) because they were so damn hard.
@olsk0004 me too man there was no alternative they had to be cheesed haha
When gun play was more important than ability spam.
Wow! I'd completely forgotten that all 3 types of ammo had to be picked up and there wasn't much of it, either!
@malcolmwilson4894 yeah that was an unpleasant surprise haha
Oof. We are spoiled nowadays needing primary bricks was a struggle 😂. Wish bungie would let me have my D1 beta emblems in D2 I have both.
@SonoftheKing316 we are very spoiled lol
We had selfrez nothing was as hard as it is now. Except jump puzzles. Mantle was the best and probably least remembered upgrade from d1
@zaccarman6683 that is true but I was a titan so I didn't have the luxury of self res haha
Oh yeah I forgot about self res...oh great days
Aw….the memories
This mission was so hard bruh 😭 i remember getting my brother to do it with me bc i was trash
Holy. Miss playing D1...
This mission has more work in it than everything in D2
Better gameplay and gunplay than destiny 2.
I played D2 since the beginning and loved it so much I decided to go back and buy D1, But I’m kind of lost in D1. I played D1 very little in the last several years, but it’s so different. Such a good mission
I always had more trouble with the other post campaign echoes of oryx missions, Paradox especially
@cheddar8213 yeah paradox was hard as well, think I struggled on this one because I had no exotics or good legendary weapons lol
Tip for ya. If you're struggling for decent gear, jump into the heroic strike playlist or PvP and you'll end up getting some half decent loot.
If you want some help, just let me know. I'd be happy to help you grind some loot
@TheGospeedgo69 thanks man appreciate that! At the time I wasn't a high enough level to do the heroic strikes so couldn't do them!
@@BarryTalent I did notice that. It would have made a lot of the missions I've watched a lot harder using greens and blues
lol, this was not a hard mission when you knew where the cheese spot was. At 9:00 in your video, it's the building to the right of the Echo of Oryx. Nice
Hell yah....drink it in
Those sparrows in d1 are very slow, almost better off running
Was that Entropy's Pinnacle?
Can't actually remember lol

@emmacjw yeah the ammo was huge problem when I played through it again lol
Bored to death with d2, might fire up the ps4 for some d1 shenanigans.
Get some heavy ammo synths from xur on a weekend 👌
@@fplgregfrost completely forgot about him selling them tbh 😂😂
No hate on Destiny 1, but how does an Average recent Destiny 1 videos get more views? Are we all blinded by Nostalgia or something?
@@arshkhanlm3086 asking myself the same thing, nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia tho
This wasn't all that hard when it came out and definitely isn't hard now... However it was such a good mission.
When the artifact was finally accessible during HOW, the battle with Skolas was much harder.
I find it was hard given my character was massively underpowered, I feel D1 was just a harder game
Nothin like the D1 says... but yeah this one wasn't all that hard solo to be honest.
@rockman3221 it's quite hard under leveled and with no exotics tbf
Anybody down to play some D1 and farm grimoire?
D1 is better than 2. Wish they would upgrade to 60 fps 4k . The ps4 version is just so slow.
D1 was never hard i dont understand how people can say that its crazy to me
@Xlaws guess we all can't be as good as you brother
