All Nigerian Recipes Hi Auntie Flo. Where do you stay and I know that immigration would never let me enter UK with all these lol. I just get half of what you got lol.
Really? I live in Spain. They must be strict these days. When I lived in the UK, the customs over there never searched my bags when I arrived from Nigeria. They searched my bags only when I am on a flight from South America (from work) when I am not carrying Nigerian food. :D :D
True about the peanuts. I'm from Ghana and I noticed that those in the west never taste the same. They usually just load it with salt and they are never as crunchy
I can't wait to travel to najia to bring back some of these goodies. This are absolutely the real stuff. No chemical. 100% original and 100% fresh. I love my Nigeria. Welcome back ma.
This is really interesting. Lol, I live is the US and weneva I go to Nija I bring all these including ogiri, abacha, akidi, okpa, ehuru, udah, uziza, ngu etc now I am running out of most of them. I have started writing another list of items I would buy in Nija in my next visit. Welcome dear and we thank God for journey mercies. I saw your face also for the first time in sisyemi's blog and I said " oh! SO THIS IS THE FACE OF THAT WOMAN THAT HAS ALL NIGERIAN RECIPE BLOG!" Lol. I'm happy you showed us your face in this video. Keep it up
Thank your encouragement Adaora. I will. :) You have all these ingredients covered! God knows how many lists I write in preparation for a trip to Nigeria. lol Chai, this my face. I have so many videos where I show my face that it surprises me when people especially those that have been watching for a long time tell me they are just seeing my face for the first time in a recent video. Oya, here's this series of videos where I show my face: ua-cam.com/video/nv-lslx1IN8/v-deo.html Enjoy!
I agree with you Adaora, I saw her face first in Sisi Yemi's vlog and it was nice to put a name to a face. Thanks for this video although I haven't watched yet, i was just surprised and pleased you decided to put a face behind the voice :)
Lol. I totally agree about the roasted groundnuts. Oyibo no sabi the magic of burnt groundnuts. Once you've tasted burnt groundnuts you can never go back!
Hello aunty, I left Nigeria when I was 8. My mom and I had to leave Nigeria because my dad was abroad. The last time I ate okpa was when I used to travel to Lagos to visit some of my family, when I was on holiday. It has been long, very very long. When you said okpa had to search for it because I couldn't remember what it is. So please aunty I would like to eat it once again. Thanks y saludos.
wao! the foodstuff display really proves you traveled yourself to 9ja, akpa GI juru n' onu!. I have to comment for the first time .I' m really salivating here. my eyes are on the ugba I can't even remember the last time I ate ugba with okporoko. keep up the good work.
I just wanna say thanks for sharing this with us, although you're sooooooooooo tired sister, God Bless you and your family Im glad you had safe trips, and to answer your question at the end, idc what you cook first honestly ALL your recipes are greatly appreciated
Aunty Flo You are right about the Groundnuts, they do not taste lovely like the ones in Nigeria. Please give me some of your Egusi and Ogbolo and stockfish please.we cannot bring all this back to the Uk
Nice to see all these nigerian food. I have never seen some before. I am not from Nigeria, but where I live you see some nigerian shops and food in the market. Nice channel...I will subscribe!
LOL, I bought half of Oyingbo market! And I forgot many things ehhh! You write these lists and and when the time comes, you begin to look for them then write a new incomplete one.
Flo you are a treasure! Thanks for all your information and tips on W African foods. The "scent" leaves you mentioned resemble something we call "pepper Elder" in Jamaica [there are a few varieties] very flavorful. Nothing beats the natural flavors of some of these leaves. I notice that Africans never mention " Pimento" aka all spice. Is it not an African spice? It is the main ingredient in Jamaican Jerk season and might go well with hard chicken your husband love so much. Try it you may like it....lol. Keep doing your thing.... Greetings for, Bronx, NY.
Hmmm! Nnem, welcome back! i really love your videos, this video just reminded me of my naija trip last year,i brought back some of these items, also included were fresh pap(ogi), bush meat, smoked goat meat, and ogiri! Hubby teased the hell out of me for bringing all these stuff! Me i no kuku send am! (He ended up eating the larger part of these items!)The good thing about it is that they store quite well in the freezer for months to come. I just pity anyone who is hungry for naija meals while watching this video. You are on your own!
That's how the hubbies shout "Umu Nwanyi!" meaning "Women!" when we pack some foods but later they will be eating and smacking their lips. LOL @ you are on your own. Thank you Nene. :)
Hello Flo, I am really quite impressed with your videos. I will say well done. Please I for one will appreciate it, for you to include the micro nutrients of the foods and the ingredients. Notice some of us are on different types of diets and will not like to miss out on our native food. If can do this, you would have moved to another level. Thanks. I appreciate you.
My mum is Benin but married to an Delta ibo man. My mum used to cook Ukwa when we were very very young like i was 9, although my father was abroad then. We joined him while i was 11 and sinds then we haven't had it again. I will Looooove to taste it again aunty flo😍😍
aunty Flo, once again, thank you for sharing your wonderful videos...I have a couple of questions, my ogbono even when in cupboard changes tatse after a while, same as in the fridge, I always have my fridge/freezer on tho, but still... 2. which preservative can i put in my meatpie, cos i love baking them, and have to finish them to avoid spoilage...any advice? 3. are you familiar with efo-riro soup, if so can you do a video please, I'm igbo too and not in Nigeria, so it's quite tricky getting some spices..thanks for your response:)
You are welcome Dika. 1. The only reason I can think of why the Ogbono changes taste even when in the freezer is probably because the ogbono was not dry in the first place. But I still have my doubts because you can't be buying damp ogbono all the time now, can you? :) So the straight answer is I do not know. 2. You do not need any preservative for meat pie. After baking it, once it cools down, put it in your freezer. It will last for a month, up to 6 weeks in the freezer without losing its taste. One the day you want to eat it, bring it out and leave to defrost naturally in a plate on your kitchen counter then warm up in the microwave oven on medium heat for about 2 minutes or till hot all over. If you defrost it in the microwave oven, it ruins it. Remember to cover it with that oven bowl while heating it. 3. Yes, I have an efo riro recipe coming up.
Hello i would love to have some of those ingredients i am learning to cook all kind of african dishes so it eould be really nice to learn to taste them
Wow I love this video. Omg! How I wish we are allowed to bring in fresh foods&leaves here I'm Australia. U pple are enjoying over there in Europe jarey
Ohhh Bernice! There's the Australian TV show that we watch here on UA-cam, Border Control. Their long list of contraband foods: nuts, even dry snacks that have any trace of meat, fish as ingredient etc means that almost all Nigerian food ingredients can't get in. I am surprised that you mention only fresh food and leaves. The way I love Nigerian food eh, that program is usually so heartbreaking for me to watch as they confiscate foods from travelers.
Exactly, that's what happens here. We have to dry our any vegetable we are coming with, egusi, ogbono, achi etc must be ground and dry virtually losing d fresh taste. I have dreamt of ube(pear) but where can u see it, I felt like jumping into my Fone will watching u display those food items u got, lol.
All Nigerian Recipes watched it too. They didn't allow one Naija man carry blended ogbono and dried akamu. I nearly cried for that man. He was telling the customs people that he wants to use it to feed his children. They confisticated the whole thing. Chei! The man was really pained.

In Nigeria those NDLEA guys that search people's bags are no longer there. The customs of where I live do not bother us about food. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. ;)

Aunty Flo, do you have a recipe for spicy peanut butter? I'm not Igbo but my hubby is, would like to make the spicy peanut butter for him and his friends.
For the spicy peanut blend salted roasted peanuts + ehu + cayenne pepper together till very smooth and oily. There's a special hand machine they use to grind it in Nigeria. I wonder if a food processor can do a good job of it.
Thank you Mr Taiwo. Really? That means you missed my Follow Me to Market video. Please go and watch, lots of people enjoyed it >> ua-cam.com/video/nv-lslx1IN8/v-deo.html

Freeze it before you travel. Once frozen, it should be ok till you get to the UK. Then when you get to your destination you put it back in the freezer immediately.
How did you manage to get all of these through immigration? It is not easy for us to do that here in the USA o. The last time I brought some fried ponmo they threw everything in the trash at my port of entry.
Ua have everything mi love but I orders from tha Nigerian shops n different States ta Mail to mi. I would love n appreciate ta travel to Africa to actually Shop mi self

Badr I use a coffee grinder and apply some tricks to get it to grind it well. Watch the following video and see how I do it: ua-cam.com/video/22BPuU2-aZw/v-deo.html
The US customs would not allow fruits, animal meats, and fresh vegetables. My Udala was seized and dat really pissed me off. They said it’s comes under fruits and I did not declare it. Imagine only 10 Udala o.

Freeze it before you travel. Once frozen, it should be ok till you get to the UK. Then when you get to your destination you put it back in the freezer immediately.

The US customs would not allow fruits, animal meats, and fresh vegetables. My Udala was seized and dat really pissed me off. They said it’s comes under fruits and I did not declare it. Imagine only 10 Udala o.
