HIGHLIGHTS | Clyde 0-1 Montrose | The Bully Wee miss out on qualification from Group G.

Clyde end their 2024-25 Premier Sports Cup campaign with a disappointing loss at home to League One Montrose.
A win would see Clyde qualify from the group stages of the competition for the first time. All 3 points however, would be going back to Angus.
Clyde will play Angus opposition once more this Saturday, as the William Hill League Two season gets underway, with an opening day fixture against Forfar.

I understand why the ref didn’t give the penalty but after watching the incident in slow motion the defender played Redfern before the ball fortuitously hit his boot making it look as if he played the ball. Montrose are a big strong team unafraid of committing professional fouls.

Having watched more of the highlights , l have changed my opinion of the ref from poor to an absolute disgrace , a Clyde player left in the Montrose half after a dreadful tackle , and seconds later a stonewall penalty not given to Clyde . Shepherd was a DISGRACE .

Clyde were poor today after good results recently , however ref was also very poor and will only get worse given who is in charge of them now .

I don’t think Clyde were poor. Montrose are a division above us and we matched them throughout. The goal was soft and the ‘penalty’ was a stonewaller. It wasn’t a great game but we were every bit as good as them.
