You are definitely one of my favorite teachers! Thank you for your ministry and diligence with helping us to become better musicians. I appreciate you!
Am happy to be part of the 100k subscribers. You inspire me a lot. I have been looking for a video to advance my way of playing. And I just found in 2 5 1. I will start practicing from the C chord till I can do the 251 in all keys. Thanks for the lessons. I will be reaching out to you for more questions. Thanks GOD bless
Thank you!! Do you have tutorials on minor chords worship song? Please send me a link to one of your videos that focus on that subject of minor chords. Thank you
I see. I always do it in natural minor, it is not bad tho. But this one, it sounds more very stichy than what I always do. Thanks for this bro. Keep up the good work for God's glory!
So to sum it up for me in an easy way: for the 2 - Chord you are actually playing a diminished 7 chord, and for the 5 - Chord an 7(#5#9) and then just the minor 1 - Chord youre leading to? Im not quite sure if thats whats you said, but I got it that way. Sounds cool, definitely gonna practice that, Thanks.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout Respectfully I play the 5 chord as a Altered 9,13 ie flatten which flows into the minor 9th or 7th chord as the 1 which ever you prefer am I off base @ worship leader hangout
Chasjazzz sounds good to me , I probably wouldn’t play the 11th, but I was just taught that way . I try and give others tools to play creatively. It Sounds like you have tools
I’m struggling with ways to voice the passing chords, and I saw you did other voicings but I’m not sure if I understand how you determined those certain ones.
Nice, as a piano player I love to do reharmonizations but in our worship team there is ample room for this because the other players are more rock oriented players, playing more straight forward progressions (which is fine too). How would you deal with this? Sometimes I can play some upper structures (a C chord over a Bb chord for example) but I would love to expand more in harmonic directions. Thanks again!
This is difficult, but Offer small harmonic suggestions from time to time. Suggest a harmonically different song from CCM Ask God as He cares, Maybe consider playing in a jazz band or RnB band that can meet your musical needs so you don’t have to leave your church
Important question! : I understand all the movements and theory, but I looked at the original chords for that song and it's different than the core that your playing. It goes 1-4-1/3-5. How do we input minor chords where there is none?
I think the idea is that, if you build a triad using the notes of the minor scale, starting on the second scale degree, the resulting triad is always diminished, bc 2 to 4 and 4 to 6 are both minor thirds in a minor scale
@@WorshipLeaderHangout Ohh okay awesome. I heard a Caribbean accent that sounded similar to my friend from Barbados. On a different note, I find your videos very useful. A beginner myself, I appreciate that you explain the theory in an easy to understand way and teach Concepts we beginners want to learn eg. cool passing chords. Keep it up!
@@WorshipLeaderHangout If I remember well, for example B-D-F-Ab would be diminished 7th, and B-D-F-A which you use in this lesson would be half diminished 7th. Is that right?

Minor 2 5 1 = 7 3 6 in relative major, no? Great simple, but rich, presentations, thank you.
Yes, you are right, but the 7-3-6 doesn’t automatically make the 3 Major, however, the 2-5-1 minor is Major 3rd because of the scale
As soon as he said 736 I automatically started thinking of C maj😂
Hi. Thk for this course... Please, Can you make a tutorial on how fingering grâces notes ? I don't able to goodly play it.

Good question. Understanding chord substitutions. Here are the substitutions
4 Sub 2
1/3 Sub 6
5 Sub 1/3
Each Sub is based on the relative minor.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout is there some kind of rule as to when you can and can't do this?
If I may ask, what is the difference between 736 passing chord and 251 passing chord because they are confusing me somehow...Assist please🙏

1:02 How do we know that the second degree is diminished? Is there theory behind this (so that I can do this for example on the augmented scale)?

Well natural or harmonic minor at least
Please 7-3-6 progression
Por favor progression 2,5,1 mayor
What's the mane of the song 😍
SEA
I thought this progression is based on harmonic scale?
Why don’t u do it on the Cmaj key😂😂
I’m not understanding why the 5 is dominant in the minor scale
The 5 chord in any major or minor scale is dominant
@@WorshipLeaderHangout Am I right to say that it is dominant if used as a passing chord and not necessarily if it is your destination chord?
And that you can approach any chord from its dominant five chord?
