Lol wo true I even left the struggle in it too. I enjoy teaching people howxto do repairs themselves to save some money. Also my customers love to see the work on there machines
I need to tackle this....although I don't wanna really mess with it. The link you provided has a curved/bent valve stem. The one in the video looks straight. I have no idea what to buy. My tire says 4.10-6, too. Anyway, if you get a chance could you let me know how to tell if I need a curved or straight valve stem. Thanks for the video.
Either one will work I personally like the curved ones as it is Easter to get at to inflate the tire. Now the seller most likely ran out of the straight ones and switched the ad to the curved ones. Both will work perfectly
@@Self.reliant Thanks a lot. Looks like a real pain in the butt - thanks for posting the video and the answer. I ordered a set of 'em last night with straight valves.
I think it might have been a bit easier if you had turned the wheel over after breaking the bead on the outside, and broken the bead on the inside, and then put it back on the normal side and locked it in place with the locking pin. That would have allowed you to lift the tire up higher when inserting the tube, I think with far less effort. Thanks for the video, I think I'll have to do the same to mine.
Yes that would have been easier and if you can I recommend doing so. The issue is this machine the wheels were rusted to the shaft and wouldn't come off. That's why it was done this way.
Very useful video, thanks. I tipped my Craftsman snowblower on its side to try to put in a tube (wheel was rusted solid onto the axle0, and oil poured out all over. Did you drain your oil first or how do you deal with the oil?
For sure. Most people don't have tire spoons and I wanted to show people how to do it at home and save a couple bucks. But yest tire spoons and a vice grip on the wheel works fantastic
Great catch actually what happend is we had 24 invhes of snow and it slid of my steel roof and separated the flue pipe where it goes from single wall to double wall. Letting smoke into my shop.
Argh. About to tackle this. Last time was over the winter and there was zero chance of getting the cold rubber tire off. Hate doing these. Make a split rim!
I hear you on that. The wheels were rusted to the axle on this machine hence why I tipped it over but it seemed to work well since it was held pretty secure
bent the shit out of my rim trying to do it, been changing tubes in tires for years either I have weak ass wheels or the tube isn't meant to be replace, brand new snow blower, bought before last winter used thru winter and noticed every time i needed to use the tire was flat so had to fill with air, thought to change tube but then the above happened, thanks for video but it doesn't work for me.
here are the tubes i used. always buy heavy duty tubes. amzn.to/2Ltn101
Thanks man, videos like this make it that we never are really working on anything alone.

Thank you for this video! Gave me the confidence to do it myself!
That is awesome and the goal of my channel. Learn how to do it yourself. Instead of paying shops in mine to fix it for you
Great video showing everything 👏 👍🏻 👌 🙌
Thank you

Thanks. Yes the struggle is real here too in Connecticut. It’s time for me to repair my snow machines left tire before it’s too late.
How much snow do you get there. Last year we had 2 storms with 2 ft plus of snow here in northern MN
Very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you I hope I've earned a sub
Requires cussing is a good tip.

Yes sorry I didn't mention that I drained the oil first.
Any reason you didn’t use tire spoons instead of screw drivers?
For sure. Most people don't have tire spoons and I wanted to show people how to do it at home and save a couple bucks. But yest tire spoons and a vice grip on the wheel works fantastic
Why do I see smoke in the video? Is there a wood stove in that garage not venting properly? Or is it just the camera?
Great catch actually what happend is we had 24 invhes of snow and it slid of my steel roof and separated the flue pipe where it goes from single wall to double wall. Letting smoke into my shop.
Good Tip! Don't cut the tube or trim it to fit inside the tire LOL :)
