Part 1: • Larry Holmes on Droppi...
--------
In the latest clip, Larry Holmes gave his reaction to Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfield's ear during their 1997 rematch. During the same year, Holmes got another shot at a championship belt against Brian Nielsen. The former champ debated the split decision loss and believes he beat Nielsen up. However, Holmes claimed that the judges were swayed by the crowd reactions to Nielsen. Holmes also commented on a proposed $10 million payday to fight George Foreman and explained why the fight never happened. - Розваги
George Foreman about to come out of retirement to set Larry Holmes and Vlad straight 😅
Bro I’d watch a foreman interview for real . He should do that shit
Facts
Foreman vs Holmes is the greatest fight there never was
Larry fought ali,Tyson, holyfield,. Give him his roses
He did not fight Ali. He fought a man who wasn’t at that time even a shadow of Ali.
@incogneto incogneto is accurate
And Butterbean
@@51beak39 he beat his ass
He fought a shell of who Ali was, watch the fight, Ali didn't even fight back back bc he couldn't
Larry always gets pissed when the subject of Foreman comes up. That's alot of money left on the table, so I can see why he would be mad.
Click bait... He never said Foreman stole the money. He said he would back out of the fight after the money was available.
I thought "Glad" had learned not to misquote people from that Minister Farrakhan debacle... I guess not.
Larry still bitter about George and I can't figure out why. But it's probably for the best that you never got into the ring with Big George because he would have KO'd your ass with either hand.
larry is interesting to listen to talk. he seems sensible
He was before Coke started to destroy black men.
Very cool to talk with in person just like you and I
Look up Chuck missler n Gene Kim
It’s easy to forget Foreman and Holmes were both born in the same year, 1949. Too bad Foreman left boxing from 1977-1987; it would have been extremely entertaining to watch them fight for the title in the early 80s - Holmes’ totem pole-like jab and ring generalship against Foreman’s stalking and devastating punching power.
Um Foreman called out Holmes back in the late 70's before Foreman fought Scott LeDoux. Holmes and his people didn't want any part of Foreman despite what phony Larry Holmes says now.
Holmes is a clown, this guy once said Tyson didn't hit him and Butterbean punched harder.
They were actually supposed tobfight in 76 but holmes turned it down since it was a high risk low reward fight
@@googlemyself4091 That Tyson part may be true but ya Larry is capping, Big George wanted all the smoke in his prime!
@@elijahjamescomia2601 Holmes would've lost in 76, but could take Foreman in the 80s.
@@truebeliever786 probably.the 76 foreman was the foreman that was desperate so he'd be a raging bull
Larry Holmes is unapologetic, you gotta give him his respect fr
No respect, foreman will floor this man
guy is arrogant
Big George said the promoter's advanced check bounced, so he did the same.
Mike Tyson fans got an excuse for all of Tyson losses but criticize Larry Holmes reasons for his losses
Tyson never made excuses for losing, it's his fans that always use that "wasn't in his prime" excuse... Like anything older than 21 is over the hill lol
@@dl30wpb That's not true. He blames his loss to Buster Douglass on a slow count, claiming he really knocked down Douglass down beforehand for 13 seconds but the referee didn't count it.
Yup
@@TonyMishima92 The count was slow, but Tyson also admitted that he didn't take his training seriously and partied the whole time in Japan... He didn't take Douglas seriously and got his ass beat because of that... That fight was the end of Mike Tyson
I love Mike, but Teddy Atlas was right he had a weak mentality, partying in Japan etc, is signs of a weak mentality a true champ has his head focused. Him partying is no excuse, Mayweather (who I think is a dick) was so focused thats what made him arguably one of the best in he's era. Prime Larry beats prime Mike
"George says it's off," Roy Foreman told The Associated Press, adding that promoter Roger Levitt did not meet the deadline for paying Foreman the remaining $9 million of his $10 million purse.
"They were supposed to have the money last week and they didn't have it," Roy Foreman said. "George gave them an extra week and they still didn't have it."
The fight wasn't a loss for the boxers. Foreman received a nonrefundable $1 million deposit and Holmes keeps a $400,000 down payment on his $4 million purse.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, Holmes also got a non refundable deposit also and it was the promoters failure to escrow funds per contract that stopped the fight.
"he was hungry" is hilarious 🤣
He sound like a mix between mike tyson and reggie wright.
LMAO!!!!!
Larry Holmes one of those country guys with no filter.... 😅👍
he actually looks good for 70.
George foreman also named 5 of his sons “George” lol. If that doesn’t show he’s a self centered ego maniac, idk what will
Lol y would u think hes an ego maniac it's a memory thing foreman hater
@@KD400_ a memory thing? Why have kids if u not gone remember their names? Shut your dumbass up
People are easily misled by public image. The people with the most squeaky image are usually the biggest assholes.
@@MIGGYME1 😂😂😂
@@MIGGYME1 y r u hating on foreman is there something that he did to u I personally see that hes a humble guy
Sounds like how they treat Pacquiao missing 10 punches hits u with 3 the crowd goes crazy lol
Lol they like the combos bruh it’s nice to look at.
If it lands
I was thinking the same thing.
Larry Holmes, the greatest excuse maker of all time
Nah
Say it to his face. That jab would put your head out your ass. Greatest heavyweight jab. Power and speed.
@@finchwarbler2269 He's a HOFer but he makes an excuse for every loss he had... People say Tyson whooped his ass but Holmes was 39 years old... He still made some lame excuse that his arm was stuck in the rope when he got knocked out... Just take your ass whooping and move on
@@dl30wpb i am not going to argue over this. Larry fought the establishment his whole career. He was is own man and some were pissed they could not rob him. Larry has a chip on his shoulder after spinks 2. Larry went the distance with evander at 40 tyson kod twice. Larry vs lennox would have been a master boxing match. Larry not a kegend? GTFO.
@@dl30wpb they really did tho even Tyson said
Holmes talks BS . The promoter in 1999 for the Birthday Bash never came up with the remaining 9 million that he owed Foreman so Foreman said screw this .
BIG GEORGE FOREMAN accomplished the most unbelievable comeback in boxing history. You either have to be a complete lunatic or have unshakable faith in The Almighty Father in Heaven to even attempt that task, especially in the obese condition that he started his comeback from. He beat a lot of good opponents near the end, including giving Evander Holyfield a damned thrilling bout before losing. Beating Michael Moorer was no small task. Michael Moorer was a young 27 year old man who had some punching power and endurance, along with the motivation of Teddy Atlas in his corner.
Michael Moore was 25
@@williehudson4013 Not Michael Moore.
George Foreman fought Michael Moorer, 7 days prior to his 27th birthday.
Michael Moorer was born on November 12, 1967. He fought George Foreman on November 5, 1994.
Larry Holmes look like he can still knock people out 😂💪🏽
Don't underestimate that old people strength lol
If you ask me, hes lucky he didnt go up against george. Even the latter day foreman would have knocked him unconscious in 2 rounds
No Foreman needed a guy stupid enough to stand in front of him .. Holmes would not have done that .. it would be a tough match up .. If Foreman didn’t knock him out he would lose
@@bobbyhulll8737 Jimmy Young outsmarted Foreman
A stationary Ali at 32 years old outsmarted and countered Foreman all night
Holmes would be all wrong for Foreman
It may go just like Holmes vs Mercer
@@LUKERs1196 I agree
Honestly I think listening to mutual opponents or unbiased legends may be a better indication than comparing results. Cos we all know styles make matches. If they boxed in the 70s with both unbeaten, I'm positive foreman would have killed him. Ken norton faced both and said that george would be too much for him. But he didnt like holmes so we can take that with a grain of salt.
however, joe frazier boxed hours of sparring with larry Holmes and clearly said that a 70s foreman would easily cut the ring off and would overwhelm holmes and I agree. Angelo dundee actually said that foreman was the best at cutting the ring off that he ever saw. The jimmy young match happened after foreman was already beaten once. He got knocked down by ron lyle too after
But if we are talking about the undefeated foreman at the top of his game, for me there would have been only one man smart enough to neutralise the power and pressure of big george, and that is muhammad ali
Larry Holmes is a legend and yes in his prime he was the best in the division, but I just dont think he is as good as he thinks he is
However, I just realised my initial comment was that a latter day foreman would have eaten him too. I genuinely agree. Holmes' attributes of speed and roaming around faded faster with age than Georges power. Older george also was able to apply smart pressure too and never got knocked out.
Fair enough holmes didnt get much time to prepare for tyson but the fact is he got sparked out in embarrassing fashion. This was at a time where Tyson admitted that he wanted nothing to do with foreman
@Jscottmoody Holmes dealt with power punchers very well
His difficulty was tactical crafty fighters like Spinks and Norton
Foreman may have been too slow for Holmes
Holmes had very fast feet and hands, he also had no problem shrugging off a powerful punch
This the guys I love hearing from!
Why nobody ever brings up the fact, of Holyfield, was intentionally head butting Mike.... and Mike got dirty back... 🤷♂️
Right
Head butting deserves getting your ear bit off? Really?!!!!
@@TheMeefive If that headbutt opens a cut YEP!!! Headbutting is a dirty move .... don't start no shit won't be no shit...
@@rsapgreen8399 Headbutts happen all the time in boxing resulting in cuts. You can accidently butt heads and get cut. That's a part of the game. Biting does not belong in a boxing ring.
@@TheMeefive international head butts are not part of the game..... you can be disqualified.... miss me with the bullshit....have you ever boxed? Doubt it
Larry said he was hungry 🤣🤣🤣💯😂🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥
Holmes's ego is so bloated . He would have never beaten Foreman.
Jimmy young beat foreman any good outboxer could beat foreman and so would Holmes once Ali beat foreman it became easy to beat him cus everyone knew how to do it
@@TheGOAT-dr1sq Bullshit it worked once for Ali because he was the greatest but he knew he could never beat Foreman a second time. Young was hearted but also lucky, he dodged punches and Foreman tired himself.
70 years old, wowww !!! Larry was the young one of the champs
Larry Holmes Underrated
George Foreman the 🐐
This was one fantasy fight I always wanted to see! Foreman vs Holmes for 12 rounds. I think a fight somewhere in the 1988-1994 range would’ve been interesting.
"Pay-per-CHEW" was the headline of the local paper 😂😂
I sense a little jealousy in Holmes toward foreman because he has a little more than he has i.e nice looking family, big car collection,300.00 million dollars, great big mansion but you also got it going on to larry.
Really nice to hear stories from legends. Don King must be the next before he passes away.
Tk Kirkland told Larry the joke about Mike being hungry 😭😭
He comes from the era I love . The man was 48-0 and got robbed twice. Establishment was clearly against him.
You’ve got Stevie Wonder eyes if you think he beat Spinks in their first fight, and I’m a Larry Holmes fan.
I love his energy!
It seems like Larry Holmes got an excuse for every fight he lost lol still love him though but come on man.
I remember watching an interview with him about 20 plus years ago and he said he lost to Tyson because his arm got stuck in the rope 🤣
on god. he’s one of the greatest but he always says he wasn’t in right shape for every loss like cmon bro
He only lost 6 out of many
@@dl30wpb When he said that I immediately went to watch that fight...that shit ain't happen he just got knocked the fuck out....😂🤣😂🤣
Exactly what I was thinking
Someone should make a movie about this guy
Larry Holmes, one of the greatest of all times ...
2:06 ok Larry it just took me about 3 minutes to go to holmes vs Nieslson on u tube as round 1 plays, i go to first Comment which says:wow I can't believe they robbed homes are becoming the oldest heavyweight champion. That's enough food for me plus I see you smacking around on this first round and I'm back on yesterday checking out this interview right now I know what you posting this!!! Convinced they shorted your accomplishment board.
We know Holyfield was headbuttin
Mike was headbutting as well and was known for it.
Most of those headbutts were caused by Mike
@@bigolbabyhuey smh first off Holyfield is 6'2 mike is 5'10 so i need you to think before you speak 2nd Tyson wasnt the only to speak on it many many others
@@MaccaveliPL mike is 5 fucking 10 fighting muthafuckas well over 6 ft so how is a guy shorter going to headbutt?
@@a1duzit
Boxer don't fight standing straight up. Mike Tyson fought fighters 6'5 and their heads came together. I'm not saying Tyson intentionally butted Holyfield, I'm saying most of the headbutts were unintentionally caused by Tyson
I watched the Nielsen fight on PPV with some Danish friends. This is hilarious 😂
Larry Holmes never gets the credit he deserves
This man is the best heavy weight of all times! facts.
Salute
This guy boxed until his fifties. Wow.
I wonder who would win between him and George. Any thoughts.
Larry Holmes' biggest problem when it comes to his popularity is Larry Holmes.
Who’re those 2 dudes in that photo in the background?
One of them is Gerry Cooney
I grew up on Larry
O man I'm so early theres no lame TK jokes yet
Lmfao
Larry was robbed twice as I remember first Larry vs Spinks 2 and Brian Nielsen. and he is the greatest boxer after Ali's era.
...I like this guy! Seems like he's a straight shootet
Larry Holmes a G! Old head got some good stories! "Ol Otis" type of dude!
Mr Eminem? (M&M). You have to refer to Larry Holmes as a Old "LEGEND" type of dude! Not just old head. Lol. Rare in these days.
@@damonwilson3609 True, trying to be humourous! I definitely got Mr. Larry "Easton Assasin" Holmes in my top 5 All Time list! Much respect to this classic boxer!

Larry Holmes is a bitter man. He was a great champion but was never loved because he came after the Ali Era and in fact destroyed an old and worn out Ali who had nothing left.
Damn Vlad show me the Old School Jayne Kennedy/ Larry Holmes interview
George Foreman with the one dislike
The great old school way be honest ! 😂
Classless to the end
Always humble lol
He's a humble guy. Always liked him.
Light weight underrated for Real
He’s full of it!
Who is Brian Neilson?and when did he fight him.
Uncle Larry is the best
Foreman would knock Holmes out in less than 5 rounds! Foreman could take any punch Holmes could throw, but Holmes definitely couldn't take Foreman's punch!
Holmes took Shavers hardest punch
Glad got your back. Yeah, way back. Couldn’t even get his money back from that coke deal
😂 same shit I said. Vlad, have your own back tf
He was hungry lol
Foreman would have bodied holmes
Holyfield kept head butting Tyson so Tyson snapped
Head butting him with fist. Tyson snapped because he couldn't take Holyfield. Mike Tyson was one of the dirtiest fighters ever himself.
@@melvynsngltn27
I couldn't agree with you more.
Close your eyes and tell me if Larry Holmes doesnt sound like LUENELL ?
Larry..... you were knocked out cold by Tyson..... how many other lies have you told in these clips?
A prime Larry would’ve beaten Tyson. Larry could move...and that jab. Larry fought some killers back then.
He would have still lost, Tyson was too fast and too ruthless back then.
I really despise Mike Tyson but I understand he was too good in the 80’s for anyone to beat at any point in their career other than Ali. Tyson was too strong and too fast
@@frankwhite1895 Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes all of them would have beaten Tyson had he fought them in their primes. Rocky Mariano too. Tyson was great for his division but he never reached his prime and now he's overhyped as sh-t

Nawl Larry. Ppl don't do that. 🤣
Larry is 1 of the all time greats, Larry defintly was on the end of a few bum decisions, I'm not familiar with the Nielsen fight but Larry was robbed when he fought Michael Spinks imo, he was so close to 50 and 0.
He robbed Ken Norton tho
@@megadave1197 the judges robbed Norton, great fight though.
So how does George Foreman act???

No he's not, Ali Frazier Foreman and Norton are
Larry Holmes smashed shit outta Ali 😂🤣😭😂

Tyson bit em cause real deal kept head butting nobody ever says that
@Jscottmoody I agree but those head butts were viscious 😆
i remember that fight. Nielsen LOST that fight for sure!!!!
He sounds a little like tyson
He was hungry haha
In larry Holmes autobiography against all odds he makes it clear he has no faith in god He mentions God alot in this interview tho so it looks like he found him late in life . That being said the book was written about 20 years ago
I definitely get hater vibes from his interviews
George foreman was not gone fight Holmes he always had trouble with boxers
I thought Larry Holmes was the best boxer ever. prime vs Prime, he beats Tyson because of that wicked jab.
get foreman on here and ask about his early days in Houston
